Anna Vs Jerome

Jerome drew, "I'll activate the effect of Augmented Heraldry," He declared, "I can send Unicorn from my hand to the graveyard to add Heraldry Reborn from my deck to my hand."

"And now, I'll activate it to bring back..." Jerome declared, as a revelation hit him.

"Wait," He said under his breath, "Replica isn't a Heraldic Beast..."

"No no no no no..." Jerome muttered as the yellow shade over his eyes faded, "I can't bring it back. I can't bring it back."

A faint high-pitched giggle could be heard through the alley, not coming from Jerome.

The enemy duelist stopped his despair to activate Heraldry Reborn, "Even if Replica is gone for good, I can still special summon Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena from my graveyard!" The two headed dragon emerged from a purple portal. (1700/1100)

"Now, I'll use its effect! By discarding a Heraldic Beast like Aberconway, Amphisbaena gains 800 attack points!" Jerome sent his most recently drawn card, Heraldic Beast Aberconway, to the graveyard as the blue and red halves of Amphisbaena glowed purple. (1700-2500)

"Amphisbaena, destroy Glass Bell! Patriarch, attack her directly!"

Mild Disappointment - Silly Billy @ The Wing Place

William took some time after the loss to think about how it had went down. He wasn't a premier duelist; he knew that before coming here. And yet, the match against Yuria really made that apparent. A young girl so easily decimated him and who knew how well she would do against some of the other competitors.

He looked up and saw that everybody had left while he was zoning out. That's fair enough. William left the wing place, his squeaky shoes contrasting against his silent thoughts. Was he even at the tournament to win? He didn't have high hopes going into it but why bother if he knew he was going to lose?

Probably smarter to wait until he was back at the hotel before getting too lost in thoughts.

Well, that got some reaction out of him. But Anna wasn't going to hang on much longer. She was already breathing heavily from exhaustion. She wasn't used to dueling like this. She probably had one more turn left in her if she didn't make some sort of comeback soon.

Meanwhile, in an abandoned warehouse, somewhere in New Decker...

Two people entered, one a woman with long, spiky silver hair wearing a pure black sleeveless jacket and dark green pants. She had a dark green duel disk on her arm styled after a flower, with a line of petals acting as the monster and spell/trap zones, the Extra Zones being directly on the main body, and a bright yellow gem.

The other entrant was a very muscular man, with a flat row of dark blue hair. He was wearing a dark grey vest, underneath it a white shirt, along with a pair of jeans. His duel disk was attached to his arm by a large amount of black straps. Its body was a long trapezoid that seemed to be made of wood, while the blade resembled that of a duel coat and seemed to be made of shiny metal. Like the woman's disk, it also had a bright yellow gem.

The women sat down tiredly on a nearby chair, while the man leaned against a support pillar. Out of the shadows, a third person emerged, a young man with extremely messy black hair and a tattered cloak. He wore a breathing mask over his mouth.

"So," The young man asked, his voice sounding extremely gravelly despite his appearance, "How'd it go?"

"We got quite a few," The women responded, "Shame some didn't work out."

"Seems like one of them got caught early," The buff man responded, his duel disk projecting a screen showing Anna dueling Jerome in the alleyway.

"Well, that might just be a problem," The younger man chuckled, coughing a few times afterwards, "By the way, notice anyone missing?"

A realization seemed to hit the woman, "Oh. Where the hell is she?"

Yujo Hotel

Eventually, Mara's car arrived at the hotel.

Quickly enough, everyone managed to check in and departed for their rooms.

That is, except for Jo and Silly Billy, who still hadn't arrived.

Jo

Jo was around halfway to the hotel when he literally bumped into Deckard.

"Oh, Jo," Deckard remarked as he helped Jo up, "I've actually been lookin' for you."

After more than an hour of grueling homework, Yuria then worked on sidedecking.

Huh, I forgot Mistar Boy. Can't have a WATER deck without him! Having all 4 Ice Barrier Synchros may look cool, but Dewloren is only useful in FTK. Since Mistar Boy boost my monsters' ATK, I don't need Spine Gillman anymore...

Anna glanced at the card in her hand. This should work for now.

"Using its effect, I Special Summon Windwitch - Ice Bell from my hand." On Anna's field emerged another bell-riding witch dressed in white. However, unlike Glass Bell, Ice Bell sported a purple theme in her hat and boots.

Windwitch - Ice Bell: Level 3, 1000 DEF, Center

"Using her effect, I can Special Summon another Windwitch monster from my deck. I Special Summon a second Windwitch - Ice Bell."

Windwitch - Ice Bell: Level 3, 1000 DEF, Right-Center

"And per her second effect, once per turn I can inflict 500 damage when Windwitch - Ice Bell is summoned." A white wand materialized in Ice Bell's hand, and with a wave, she summoned a small blizzard aimed right at Jerome.

Almost as soon as she opened the door to her hotel room, Mellie carefully set her duel disk down on the kitchen table, removed her hoodie, then flopped onto the bed with a sigh of relief. It was nice to meet everyone, and the tournament had gone great, but she had reached her threshold for social interaction a solid half hour ago. The car ride over certainly hadn't helped; Mara had let her take shotgun, and, well... Less said about that, the better. Mellie was pretty sure her face was still red from the time she and Mara brushed hands.

She pulled out her phone and started up some music to chill out to. Hopefully she would get a nice few hours of uninterrupted personal time before dinner.

Anna Vs Jerome

Jerome took the ice blast, which left a small bit of mist behind.(LP: 8000-7500)

Even before the attack hit, he seemed to be slowly becoming... sluggish. Jerome's movements were a bit more tired then when the duel started. It looked like he struggling to keep focus.

"And now that I have two WIND monsters on the field, I Special Summon Windwitch - Snow Bell from my hand."

Anna summoned her third Windwitch monster, this one merely a spherical with wings attached. It let out a gentle chime as it joined the other two Windwitches.

Windwitch - Snow Bell: Level 1, 100 DEF, Left-Center

"And now, I tune my Level 1 Snow Bell to my two Level 3 Ice Bells!" Snow Bell transformed into a single green ring, enveloping the two Ice Bells. As it did so, the two Ice Bells transformed into six bright stars before creating a beam of light that shot through the rings. "Winds of snow and ice, heed my call! Become the storm that blows my foes away! Synchro Summon!" From Snow Bell's ring appeared a purple and blue winged entity. With its sleek body and pale blue wings, it almost looked like a jet. And in the middle of its body was a large green bell. "Appear! Windwitch - Winter Bell!"

Windwitch - Winter Bell: Level 7, 2400 ATK, Left Extra

"And now Winter Bell's effect activates. I target one Windwitch in my Graveyard, and inflict damage to you equal to its Level times 200. Windwitch - Glass Bell is Level 4, so you take 800 damage!"

Winter Bell rang its bell to emit a sonic wave, blasting Jerome with its frequencies.

Anna Vs Jerome

Jerome took the hit, the sonic blast knocking back slightly. (LP: 7500-6700) He began panting, seemingly out of breath.

"Is that..." He stopped to take a large breath, "...All?"

Scotty

Scotty watched the duel on bated breath - he wanted to shout profanity at Jerome and make it clear the bastard was cheating or something, but he knew by now if the disks detected cheating they'd stop. And this thing he summoned was very real - and the disk had not reacted at all.

"Put this dork to bed Anna!"

He knew he had been quiet for some time, but he hoped his encouragement was welcome.

"Battle Phase! Windwitch - Winter Bell attacks Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena!"

Winter Bell turned to face Amphisbaena, and launched several missiles of ice at its enemy.

Anna Vs Jerome

The missiles impacted and destroyed the twin headed dragon. (LP: 6700-6000)

"Jerome," A very high-pitched voice chimed in, "I'm not gonna lie, I thought this was going to be a bittt more one sided then it is right now."

All the players in the alleyway turned their attention to one of the rooftops surrounding the alley. Sitting there, their legs dangling off the side, was someone dressed in a full bodysuit. It had grey padded armor sections covering most of the chest, with one predominant one in the center which was light yellow diamond shape with a smaller red diamond in the center. The arms were free of armor, instead having being covered in black cloth. They had a duel disk on, but the way they were sitting made it hard to make out what it looked like. Lastly, the figure had a hood on, their face covered by a mask resembling a cartoonish, featureless skull, with two triangular eye holes.

They gave a surprisingly cheerful wave to Anna and Scott.

"I have to admit though, the Windwitches are a nice touch," The figure complimented, the mask seemingly distorting their voice to its high pitch, "Well don't mind me, keep going, I wanna see how this ends!"

With a sigh, Anna placed a card on her Duel Disk. "I set one monster and end my turn."

Jo grinned up at the older man as he clenched his hand in his, gratefully taking it so he could stand up. "You were? What for? If I had known I woulda invited ya to have dinner with the rest of us."

"I... draw!"

Jerome looked over his hand. Evidently, he wasn't happy with it.

"I'll shift Patriarch to defense mode." The crystal mass began to glow blue.

"That's it."

"Well," The masked observer noted, "That's... disappointing."

"My turn, draw!" Anna tucked her new card into her hand and reached as she activated Winter Bell's effect once more.

"Winter Bell's effect! I inflict 800 damage to my opponent by targeting Glass Bell in my Graveyard!" The spherical bell released another sonic wave, hitting Jerome with another blast.

"Winter Bell then attacks the Egul Impersonator Token!"

Anna Vs Jerome

Jerome was nearly knocked over by the wind blast. (LP:6000-5200)

He recovered just in time to see Winter Bell destroy the masked Egul.

"I end my turn."

Jerome drew another card. The duel still seemed to be physically exhausting him.

"Hey..." He called out to the masked observer, breathing heavily, "Whats... happening... to me."

"Well I can't really go into specifics," The observer responded, "But I can tell you that it'll stop if you win."

"..Fine." And with that Jerome put his focus back onto the duel.

"I'll discard Heraldic Beast Yale with Advanced Heraldry, to add Advanced Heraldry Art from my deck to my hand."

His eyes widened for a moment.

"I... end my turn."

"My turn! Draw!" Anna felt a cold sweat as Jerome pulled that card out of his deck. Advanced Heraldry Art...

"I special summon Leo and Amphisbaena from my graveyard, and I have to use them to Xyz summon!" Anna recalled, glaring at Number 18. That card messed me up last time. I need to shore up my defenses.

Anna reached out an arm. "Winter Bell activates once more, once again inflicting 800 damage to my opponent." Once more, Winter Bell emitted a sonic frequency, blasting Jerome for 800 more damage.

"I then Flip Summon Gusto Gulldo."

Gusto Gulldo: Level 3, 500 ATK, Center

"I then activate Creature Swap from my hand. Using this card, both players choose one monster on their side of the field to exchange with their opponent."

Anna Vs Jerome

"I'll give you one of my tokens," Jerome declared as the masked Winda token turned into a ball of light, hovering over to Anna's field before turning back into into it's original form, "Even if you get rid of them, as long as Patriarch is on the field, you still can't summon the cards I destroyed."

EDIT: For the kids keeping track at home, Jerome has 4400 Lp at this point.

"That's fine, because I trade my Windwitch - Winter Bell!" Winter Bell transformed into a ball of green light, crossing with the Impersonator Token's path to appear on Jerome's field.

"And now, I tune Level 3 Gusto Gulldo with my Level 2 Impersonator Token!" Gusto Gulldo transformed into three green rings as the Impersonator Token flew threw them. "Hearts beat together to create a new force! Fly as one with the rolling thunder! Synchro Summon! Fly forth! Daigusto Gulldos!" Upon Anna's cry, a beam of light shot through the rings. When the light faded, what appeared on Anna's field was Winda riding upon a much larger version of Gusto Gulldo.

Daigusto Gulldos: Level 5, 2200 ATK, Left Extra

"Daigusto Gulldos activates its special ability! I shuffle Winda, Priestess of Gusto and Gusto Gulldo back to the Deck, in order to destroy Heraldry Patriarch! Daigusto Gulldos! Take it down!"

Winda raised her staff from atop Gulldo, wind and lightning crackling in the sky. She brought it down and aimed it at Heraldry Patriarch, destroying it with a blast of electricity.

Anna Vs Jerome

As Winter Bell shifted to Jerome's side of the field, Jerome was confused.

"Why would you-" Was all he was able to get out before Gulldos hit the field, "Oh no..."

The thunder bolt from Winda hit Patriarch, but the crystal wasn't destroyed immediately. Instead a giant spiderweb of cracks appeared on it, light shining through each one. "Patriarch!"

"When Patriarch is sent from the field to the graveyard," Jerome noted grimmly as his giant crystal shattered into nothing, "I can send 2 Heraldic Beasts from my deck to the graveyard."

His deck produced two cards, "I'll send Aberconway and Unicorn."

The observer seemed to have taken more interest in Anna, "Oooo, this is getting interesting!"

"And now..." Anna slowly took a card from her hand and slid it into her Duel Disk. "I activate Miracle Synchro Fusion."

The image of a green card flipped up beside Anna. It depicted two dragons, teal and red, circling around each other in the iconic fusion dance. "This card removes from play monsters from my side or my field in order to perform a Fusion Summon, as long as that Fusion Monster requires a Synchro Monster." She reached out a hand as Daigusto Gulldos flew into the air beside the image of Winda, Priestess of Gusto. The swirled around each other, gaining speed until they became a ball of bright light. "I fuse my Daigusto Gulldos and Winda, Priestess of Gusto! The winds call for prayer, and the rider of the storm answers! Strong minds come together, free as the wind! Synchro Fusion!"

The ball of swirling light suddenly stopped swirling, as if it became a solid cocoon. From within, one could see glowing red eyes and crackling electricity. Then, a clawed hand punched through the cocoon. Then another. Soon, the entire cocoon shattered to reveal a winged skeletal entity, electricity crackling around it. Anna could hear the scanner in her pocket beeping, reacting to her own monster.

"Arise, dominator of souls! Ultimate Axon Kicker!"

Ultimate Axon Kicker: Level 10, 2900 ATK, Left Extra

"Battle Phase! Ultimate Axon Kicker, attack Windwitch - Winter Bell! Agony Bolt!"

Sparks of green electricity gathered in its hands as Ultimate Axon Kicker created a mass of electricity in the air. Bolts of lightning sweeped the ground, one slicing right through Windwitch - Winter Bell, shattering it into pieces.
