"...Currently...in between jobs." He said haltingly, looking off to the side of the table and shrugging. "Mostly...um...creative differences?"

Okay, maybe it wasn't a good idea to start handing out business cards with his name, while telling people to "Remember the name" but he was beginning to suspect that they implemented a new statute of rules for the workplace directly for him.

"Yeah, creative differences."

"I'm working on a structural engineering degree right now. Kinda nerdy, I know, but I've never been a sports person, ahaha. ...Though if you're asking where I work right now, the answer is 'part-time at a grocery store.'"

Scotty

Scott outright scoffed at the idea of him being just another kid or amateur - he leaned forward a bit on the table and stated, "I am gonna have to object to being labeled just a kid or amateur. I've already been in a movie, and I am due to appear in another. And I've got a Football Scholarship for College - recruiter said I've got some of the best throws he's seen in years."

Yeah he was the QB - what else would Scotty be? He was the leader, the big man on campus, and the man who threw the best parties at the school.

"So I'm an up and coming movie star, duelist, and football player. Bit of a busy life, but I make time for the things I love."

Anna

Whatever the scanner had picked up, it was starting to quickly fade.

Through process of elimination, Anna managed to figure out that the signal was coming out of an alleyway two doors down from the restaurant.

A strange sight awaited her there. In the center of the alley, standing with his back to her, was Jerome. Except something was... off about him. Other then a general strange feeling, Anna could also spot he had some kind of new duel disk on his arm. Instead of the bracelet/arm guard that standard duel disks used to attach to the users arm, this one was connected onto a black gauntlet, which covered up most of his arm up to the elbow.

Anna swore she saw two people exit by the opposite side of the alley.

Yuria tapped her head, realizing something. "Wait, you are a jock and an actor, and yet you plays Ninjas? I expect someone like you to play UA. I know a guy named Harrington Rosewood who would use nothing but tennis cards."

"...Tennis Cards?" Byron asked after a moments pause. "That sounds almost as dead ended as Koalas. And at least they have...SOME...Kind of support as of recent."

Wiiiiiiiiiings

Jo was busy stuffing his face when he heard Anna's scanner go off, the bulky youth glanced to her and leaned over slightly to try and get a peek at what it said but couldn't quite get a good look before she took off. "Curious." He mused before taking another bite of his wings and swallowing, just before the topic of jobs came up. "Oh! I work at an auto-shop. But I'm also trying to work out a gig as a wrestler, at least part time if nothing else."

Scott

"I know, pretty weird admittedly..." He then scratched his head a little and fessed up, "This guy kinda took me under his wing. Introduced me to the director of my next movie. I think he's a big time action movie guy. I think he might have been French. He played Ninjas too, and he helped me get into em."

He grinned, thinking back, "A lot of people seem to think I'm joking when I show up using a Ninja deck. They change their tune pretty fast when their big guns show up at half strength."

As Anna ran out of the restaurant, she contemplated calling her supervisor and reporting this incident. She wasn't too keen on the whole details of the organization's research or hypothesis or whatever, but from what she saw on her scanner, she was pretty sure it was an outlier.

Still, it felt like more trouble than it was worth. In fact, it might just be nothing. She can always do it later.

As Anna peaked around an alleyway that she suspected house the signal, she saw... her opponent from the first round. Jerome, she believed his name was.

"Ahem." Anna let out an awkward fake cough as she took some timid steps into the alley. "Jerome, right? What are you doing here?"

"I'm pretty sure that french ninja guy is Jean Reno you're talking about." Mara said, and pointed at Scotty. "Maybe you're right that the pro-am split's vague enough you could be pro but you're still a child. 18's the legal def on that, not the real one. Adult like, you know, having a job. A real one, not nepotized acting while you're trust fund jockin' it."

Mara's wrist lazed back over to point vaguely at Mellie. "So anyway I'm actually what my company calls a network engineer. I do amateur MMA on the side too but that's just so I don't look like a chud like all the other gremlins in I.T."

Winger's Circle

Watching Anna get up and run through the door like she had seen a ghost was mildly concerning. William moved to get up but stopped as a squeak sounded out. Looking down at his bright red shoes, maybe running after someone was a bad idea.

As the topic at hand turned to work, William slowly sunk back into the chair. "Well, actually, I'm here ta try an' put myself out there, y'know? Ma dream is ta have ma own kid's show. I'd use ma winnin's an', hopefully, get otha people excited. Maybe meet up with some investahs an' junk."

Anna

Jerome, still facing away from Anna, raised up his gauntlet hand, turning his head to look at it.

Suddenly, he turned around and whipped out his gauntlet towards Anna. A yellow energy whip, ending with an afterimage of his armored hand, projected out, the hand grabbing onto Anna's wrist next to her duel disk. Both duel disks activated as the tether faded away, though Anna could feel it as if it was still there.

Jerome's new duel disk seemed to be a black version of his original one, with a yellow gem with a red line going through it, resembling an eye, glowing brightly.

"So this does work," Jerome said, with a malice his voice didn't have before, "So then, how about a rematch? Not that you really have a choice."

The energy tether he's using is basically a Duel Anchor from Zexal. He goes first in the duel by the way.

As she saw the whip fly towards her, Anna raised her arm to protected herself, only to find that same whip wrapping around her arm. And as it did so, the blade on her Duel Disk flared to life.

"What the-" Anna repeatedly pressed the "Abort" button on her Duel Disk to no avail, before turning to Jerome with a vexed expression, "Hey, what is this?!"

Scott - Following After

"Yeah you'd think that I'd use UA, but...I always er...hm..." Something was bothering him.

Scott had heard the alarm from Anna's little device, but he hadn't really thought much of it. But when she ran outside, his eyes eventually went from the table to the door. He waited a minute. Could just be some business she needed to take care of.

She wasn't coming back.

He remembered some really freaky and offputting cases, thinking there might be a chance that girl needed some help if she ran off and got herself into trouble.

Scotty was a show off, a vain, muscled up jock eager to enjoy himself. But he wasn't the type to let someone run off on their own into danger.

With that he got up, rubbed off any grease or sauce on his hands on some small paper towels on the table, and then got up, grabbed his backpack with his duel disk in it, and headed out.

He looked around and by chance looked into the very same alleyway, seeing the Duel Anchor deployed and Anna bound there by...was that one of the guys from the tournament? "...The fuck's goin' on over here?"

Scott and Anna

"Insurance," Jerome replied, "While this Duel Anchor is active, you have to duel. Either you beat me, or I release you. And we both know that's not gonna happen."

"You made me look like an idiot, in front of my family to boot!" He complained, "So I was given this gauntlet, and some other new tricks, to get some payback."

At this moment Jerome noticed Scott, "Oh great, a spectator."

"Anyways," Jerome drew his opening 5 cards, "Let's get started."

After finishing her meal, Yuria shifted in her seat uncomfortably. There was nothing to do but to listen to adults talk, and the person closest to her age was gone. She could just call her guards and leave for the hotel, but mama said it would be rude to leave a dining table, especially if you did not pay for it.

After five minutes, Yuria stacked her dishes and signaled the servers to clear out the table.

Yuria pressed the touchscreen attached to the side of the table, and multiple holographic duel fields appeared.

"I'm sooo bored!" Yuria stretched her arms and legs, then pulled her deck out of her deck box. "Let's have a duel! Mr. Clown, do you think your Toon Kingdom can withstand the wrath of the ocean?"

Scotty

Scott was not liking the looks of this - this guy was basically abducting her, and trying to get his revenge...and what the hell did he mean by other tricks? What was that gauntlet thing?

"Hey! You let her go or else! She beat you fair and square!"

I am NOT liking the looks of this. If worst comes to worst, I can tackle that asshole. Bet he can't take a tackle like a linebacker.

Deckin' Hot Wings!

Maybe I should get a name card... Or business cards... William found himself pondering as people continued to not refer to him by his stage name. It ain't even hard to remembah!

"Uhh, sure!" As William grabbed his deck, he hoped that Anna girl was gonna be okay. With Scott after her, it would probably make whatever she was chasing after harder to grab. Unfortunately, he was in no shape to pursue, what with the enormous squeaky clown shoes. "Ya wanna go first?"

"Eh, why not." Yuria said.

Yuria put her deck out of her belt and placed it on the deck zone.

Byron looked down in surprise. "Whoa, when that they impliment that stuff?" he asked, mostly to himself before shrugging after a pause and pushed his plate off to the side. "Um, I'm with her. Anyone wanna duel, pass the time while everyone else is being weird as hell?"

"Behold the wrath of the ocean!" Yuria said loudly, which made the other patrons glare at her.

"...sorry..." Yuria squeaked, her face burning red. Somebody drown me!

Yuria hunched down, eyes gluing at the her starting hand.

Let's see... Darn it, I can't summon Abyssalacia yet!

"I Normal Summon Neptabyss, the Atlantean Prince (Center)!" A mini version of Neptabyss rose from a watery ring.

"I activate Neptabyss' effect. I send Atlantean Dragoons from my Deck to the GY. With Atlantean Dragoon's effect I add Codarus to my hand; with Neptabyss' effect I add Atlantean Heavy Infantry to my hand"

"Since there isn't anything else to do, I end my turn here"

Having said that, however, it did not look like Anna was going to be talking her way out of this. What's more, somebody from back at the restaurant just appeared out of nowhere. She needs to ends this quickly before anyone else gets dragged in.

"Fine then. Let's duel." She said, drawing her own opening hand.

Anna Vs Jerome

"Shut it," Jerome said bluntly, to both Scott and Anna's questions, "This should seem familiar, I'll discard Heraldic Beast Leo to special summon Heraldic Beast Amphisbaena!"

The familiar two headed dragon appeared once again, although this time it looked a bit stunned. Its movements seemed more sluggish then before. (1700/1100)

"Since I sent Leo to the graveyard, I can add 1 Heraldic Beast from my deck to my hand!" Jerome declared as his deck produced a card, "I'll add Heraldic Beast Twin-Headed Eagle!"

"I'll summon Eagle," The azure eagle with two heads appeared next to Amphisbaena, "And I'll link summon!"

The two dual-headed beasts turned to hurricanes as a link frame appeared in the air, they flew into the bottom right and downward link markers.

"Cloned beast, unfit to rule. Lie and deceive until you claim the throne! I link summon Heraldic King Replica-Usurper!"

The monster that emerged from the link portal was new to both spectators. It resembled Number 8, Heraldic King Genome-Heritage, but the color scheme on its body was inverted. Its orange legs were purple, its blue sash red, and its white mask black. Instead of the long, flowing blond hair of Genome-Heritage, it had 4 large light blue crystal spikes, with a DNA model engraved on each of them.

The creature let out a strange, ethereal cry. (1800)

As far as your characters know, that card shouldn't exist. His turn isn't over.

I Ain't Chicken of Duelin'!

William, truth be told, wasn't the biggest fan of Duel Monsters when it was without the flash of the big stadiums and the crowds. There was an energy when performing a spectator sport with a great deal of spectators. Still, the kid seemed to enjoy it enough.

"Alright, I start by activatin' Toon Kingdom," William said, moving the top three (3) cards of his deck into the Banished Zone. "Next, I'll activate ma Continuous Spell Card, Stumblin' , which makes all monstahs summoned be turned ta Defense Mode. I'll also Normal Summon Toon Masked Sorcerah, who is put inta Defense Mode. I'll Set two (2) more cards, an' end ma turn."
