I 'm loving this pacing so far.

I'm not surprised that Shang Tsung would be smart enough to not fall for the Chaos Kin's trap, it's literally on a soul-ripping rampage.

Part 5

• Last Update Recap:
  • In the previous update, Yukari became cursed as a result of faking her death. Meanwhile, Niftu survived a trial, which both involved his body being impaled and consequently exposed to hostile enviroment, since his species couldn't tolerate Earth's atmosphere, thus proving himself worthy of a magical sword. And Borat would become even more famous in Kazakhstan, probably enough to get himself pardoned from the fate of gulag for life.

  • Astronaut in the Ocean ordered Solid Snake and Chaos Kin to kill three tributes. The first to be kidnapped was SilverAsh, and this gave the astronaut an idea as they ordered a town hall to be built around the CEO, the manta rays and the Time Lord, probably to mock SilverAsh with irony. They were soon blown apart, then denied afterlife by Chaos Kin. And speaking of explosions, Revilo and Thunderlane managed to stop one from destroying a factory.

  • Gretchen the Glorious, in her obnoxiousness, decided to divide her souls among several Horcruxes, but after being reminded of her friendship with Linda Belcher and resolving to be a better person thanks to Thérèse, she died from the strain. At least she'd be in Heaven instead of the Limbo. Meanwhile, Adobe Flash failed to find his way out of a mirror maze and everyone chose to let him die.

  • More YTP shenanigans as Ganon came back to his quiche, before deciding not to date both Solid Snake or Steve.

  • Liquid Snake threatened Yocheved and there's a chance she may be infected with a virus that would induce heart attack in her one day. Meanwhile, the driver was no match for a giant vehicular robot.

  • Coffee took on some caffeine before performing a kidney transplant on Cross, who unfortunately rejected the kidney Elfin gave him. It could be her unusual biology after that temporal accident or just plain genetic/blood type incompatibility.

  • After becoming cursed, Yukari got hit by a bus and finally died for real. The question now is did she get isekai'd into another world?

  • Ringo adopted a pet, while Thérèse tried to assassinate Kingpin. However, he proved himself to be just as capable in defending himself as he was in leading, killing the muttation. Though it did look vaguely like Vanessa. Mutts were partly sourced from the DNA of fallen tributes after all.

  • Shang Tsung had become so infamous that three tributes tried to capture him, but he outsmarted them. Finally, the Disney Dragons were left only speaking in gibberish after eating a strange brand of cereal from the Oggy and the Cockroaches universe.

     • Kingpin deludes himself to thinking that a block of wood can act like a cellphone to call his underlings. Reminds me of that Doppio guy from the JoJo universe.

     • Pepsi Convoy is generous enough to give the dragons superpowers to oppose him. Looks like a foolish move. However, the dragons immediately try to find ways to use said powers for gambling and maybe some gibberish.

     • Which French cheese of noble quality does she use? Camembert, Roquefort, Gruyère, Emmental, Brie?

     • Yocheved has her belongings thrown by Bob. Not only does she lose them, but it reminds her a bit too much of the moment when she had to send baby Moses drifting away, so she she reveals herself to be a good swimmer when she manages to recover them. Looks like she has experience swimming in the Nile.

     • If I make a guess, Rourke got it from a car accident, Shang Tsung got it from a battle, and Liquid and Solid Snake got it from fighting each other. Meanwhile, Elfin seems to have trouble coping with Cross' death even though she tried to save him.

     • Coffee becomes the Navi to Niftu's Link of Ocarina of Time.

     • Ganon dies after coming across yet another quiche, which somehow makes him burn this time. It burns! He says. As he lays dying in his deathbed, Ganon is visited by Borat, who wants to interview him in behalf of the Kazakhstani government. He simply tells him to insult the Gamemakers if Borat wins. Anyway, I really hope the Gamemakers don't accidentally play the Kazakhstan Anthem from the Borat film if Borat does win, considering what happened in an Earth Prime sporting event a decade ago.

     • Chaos Kin tries to absorb Revilo's soul, thus getting itself in a fight with him. During this, Chaos Kin grabs the Astronaut in the Ocean as a human shield, but Revilo manages to save them and drive away Chaos Kin.

     • One of Thunderlane's earlier injuries seem to have caught up with him as he suddenly has to be hospitalized and hooked on an IV bag. Unfortunately, after failing to pull a Scorpion a couple of days ago, Ringo uses this opportunity to finish the job. This time, she succeeds by pulling Thunderlane's IV bag, sending him to an immediate critical condition and eventual death.

     • Shang Tsung draws pictures of Zohan, Dan, Milk, Kawaii~chan, Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, the Disney Dragons, Steve, Thunderlane, Niftu, Chaos Kin, Jack and Elfin.

     • A Solid Snake mattress sounds a bit strange. Also, will an explosion explode? Will The Joker, a clown but insane, and Two-Faced, a man but an attorney, appear? Will Two-Faced flip Steve and leave?

     • I can see it. Astronaut in the Ocean is a spaceperson after all. Plus, they survived two splashes into the water. It must be the work of the Dark Side of the Force.

     • The Pepsi Convoy gets stuck inside a giant vending machine after inexplicably becoming paper-thin and then eating chips despite the lack of mouth and need for chips, but manages to get out.

     • Jack, Thérèse and Kingpin survive an alledgedly deadly roller coaster.

     • Elfin doesn't fall for the Oreo toothpaste trick. Also, I wonder if the chemical composition of toothpaste is toxic for a vorlu like Niftu.

     • Yocheved wins the limbo contest, humiliating Kazakhstan and showing to Bob that he's not yet prepared for the events of his home universe.

     • The personification of Coffee himself now believes that people like to drink their blood with a cup of coffee.

     • Revilo is feeling unwell, so Liquid Snake offers him some trustworthy medicine. However, Revilo spontaneously explodes after taking few steps away. It turns out Liquid turned Revilo into a bomb with the medicine. Smart assassination.

     • The Disney Dragons and Ringo witness a kaiju, disguised as a giant slice of watermelon, landing into the Arena.

• Previously on the last update:

  • Kingpin fools himself into thinking a block of wood is a cell phone, while Pepsi Convoy makes the bold move to give the Disney Dragons powers to go after him, but they just use it all on gambling.
  • Bob throws Yocheved's stuff down the river. A few of our tributes discuss where they got their scars. The love triangle with the quiche comes to a fatal end for Ganon. But before he dies, he asks Borat to give the Gamemakers his own brand of dying words. The Astronaut in the Ocean manages to survive an encounter with the Chaos Kin, thanks to Revilo.
  • Shang Tsung shows off his artistic skills while the theory of Astronaut in the Ocean being a Sith Lord floats around.
  • We've also had some close calls, such as the Pepsi Convoy getting stuck inside a vending machine and Jack, Thérèse and Kingpin survive a killer roller coaster.
  • And there was more death too, as Liquid Snake blows up Revilo by having him swallow a bomb, spreading him everywhere. What a yarn of a tale!

   • Yocheved brings forth a white squid that sprays ink all over the faces of the other tributes, which temporarily blinds them.
   • After stumbling along with the ink for a moment, Kingpin makes his way to Ringo's camp to entice Ringo over his huge car with bumpers collection.
   • Pepsi Convoy calls upon the power of Katniss Everdeen as her spirit goes into him, which makes him powerful. He uses it to shoot Borat with a high-pressure shot of his CO 2 soda gun. The pressurized Pepsi shot is enough to shatter the bones and organs of Borat, who will no doubt get a huge hero's funeral in his native Kazakhstan.
   • Niftu Cal is really persistent in wanting to give Elfin a cookie. But she's not sure if she can trust him.
   • Shang Tsung on the attack as he grabs the Astronaut in the Ocean and uses his body to pummel Steve with it. Shang Tsung approaches the battered Steve and tells him "Your soul is mine..." before he steals his soul. Fatality!
   • The mattress Solid Snake decides to take advantage of the few who are still blinded by the ink of Yocheved's Squid by radioing in a jet that sprays white phosphorus smoke all over. A few poor souls, such as Rourke, Thérèse and Newby, can't tell the ink from the smoke as they stick around the smoky areas and all end up dying from too much exposure to the smoke.
   • Coffee takes up volleyball collecting.
   • All the Disney Dragons team up and gather around Liquid Snake and rip out his brain and strip him of his jacket. A brainless Liquid Snake has a real fucked-up shirtless scene as he staggers around showing off his body before he collapses.
   • Chaos Kin babbles on about waffles, saying "I will eat them, then I will eat their souls!" before going on to maniacal, mad laughter.

   • Do you really think you can outdrink somebody who calls himself the Pepsi Convoy? It seems like a surefire way to fail.
   • Guess Niftu Cal really did want to give Elfin a cookie. Apparently he had decided to become nice. He became so nice, he turns into a cinnamon roll. Shortly after, Ringo walks by and eats the roll, thinking nothing about it.
   • The Kingpin, Disney Dragons and Astronaut in the Ocean team up and attempt to go after mattress Solid Snake, Coffee and Yocheved. But the latter get the jump on them and the former all get killed by a mix of combat weaponry, coffee attacks and strangled to death with a pet white squid.
   • It's the battle of soul-eaters as Shang Tsung and Chaos Kin face each other in Mortal Kombat. In the end, it's Shang Tsung who's the victor as he beats Chaos Kin to death with a giant drumstick. He then proceeds to steal the soul of the creature as well as the other souls it has eaten. Fatality!

   • Shang Tsung sings karaoke but does it for so long, he loses his voice. Guess all the soul-stealing has strained him.
   • Elfin is just here chilling.
   • Pepsi Convoy decides to have fun by broadcasting barking noises on the radio. The barking noises are brought to you by Pepsi.
   • The Arena Forcefield takes over Coffee. All he can do is scream as he is forced to walk into the Forcefield itself, giving him quite the buzz.
   • Yocheved does quite the interesting cosplay as she dresses up as Solid Snake, but has one finger painted to look like Ringo.

If you ask me, (giant) chicken drumstick is Shang Tsung's new Trademark Favorite Food lol. Also, was legit not expecting him to kill the Chaos Kin (though I suppose it makes sense for him to do it lol)

Also, holy shit, Solid Snake just went ballistic over there. I wonder if he will match, or even surpass, the legendary ten-kill streak of Dragonite, Alatreon, and Arthur Dent....

• Last Update Recap:
  • Last time on HGS, we dealt with a bloodbath of an update. But first, we saw Yocheved using that Mario squid to ink every tribute in their eyes. Then, Pepsi Convoy managed to summon Katniss' spirit (though it's rumored Katniss herself is still alive) and used the power boost to give Borat a taste of how Pepsi could bring you deep into the grave.

  • Shang Tsung grabbed the Astronaut in the Ocean again, who failed to survive this time after being pummeled against Steve. Shang Tsung then absorbed their souls. Meanwhile, Rourke, Thérèse and Newby got gassed by white phosporus, giving them agonizing and horrific deaths.

  • The next death event saw the Disney Dragons defeating Liquid Snake by turning him into a morbid work of pun.

  • The Feast then came. Pepsi Convoy's soda knowledge came in handy even though the drinking game probably involved alcoholic beverages. Meanwhile, Niftu was so innocent that he transformed into a Volusian cinnamon roll, which gave no ill effects to Ringo even though it's comprised of ingredients that were chemically unsuitable for a human being.

  • Kingpin, the Disney Dragons and Astronaut in the Ocean tried to ambush Solid Snake, Coffee and Yocheved, but payed dearly with their lives in a bloodbath. And finally in the Feast, Shang Tsung defeated the other soul eater and proved himself to be the bigger fish.

  • Shang Tsung lost his voice after singing too much Mortal Kombat karaoke. Meanwhile local radio stations around Panem were forced to deal with dog barks akin to The Annoying Dog for few seconds.

  • And finally, Coffee was somehow hacked by the Arena Forcefield and forced to kill himself against his will, while Yocheved did unusual cosplays.

     • After bearing them for the last few days, Shang Tsung finally becomes angry at how some of the events make act him act ridicilously or make him fail, so he thinks they're all stupid.

     • Yocheved turns to dark magic as she somehow conjures up a trap and a zombie witch at the trap. She then lures Ringo into it, causing her to be ambushed by the witch, zombified and killed. That's karma for what you did to Thunderlane.

     • I implore you to come up with one, fans!

     • It seems quiches are popular this season as the Pepsi Convoy finds yet another one and eats it. It forwards time around him only to the next day.

     • Elfin, unaffected by the time forwarding as she's out of the quiche's range, invents a new game. But no one wants to try it. As if she has completely disappeared from time, except not really.

     • Shang Tsung turns to a petty act by deleting the save file from a game Yocheved is playing, intending to provoke her into fighting him for the fatality and soul.

     • Are the broth and flesh blue? Or is that just an exotic survival stew?

     • Angered by the Pepsi Convoy for ignoring her game, she decides to kill him after observing that he ate a quiche yesterday. She uses another quiche and a bottle of pepsi to lure the Pepsi Convoy to her camp while she's outside. She then proceeds to blow up her own camp, blasting and burying the Pepsi Convoy.

Actually, as the person who came up with the event, I didn't mean for it to be a L 4 D ref. It's a reference to a MCU show.
