I think the enemies become more aggressive/reactive(i.e donovan uppercut punishing your jumps, dylans/Kevins doing a similar jump kick punish) o higher difficulties, and I heard Estel summons 2 commissioners in her rematch, RIP if true lol.
And dude I thought Remake's Adam was cool enough, but SOR 4 Adam outclasses him and is among the best in the game.
Now I'm looking forward to Remake mods adding in SOR 4 content. I imagine Estel is going to be a popular one.

I noticed when playing as the SOR 3 version of your dudes, doing a dodge roll makes you drop your weapon
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. It's funny considering how Beats of Rage often used SNK characters and now we have things like the Commissioner using Rugals's God Press and Adam using Terry's power geyser.

The art feels very similar to Lastman for some reason.
Edit: Oh I didn't notice, not very surprising indeed.

The devs are French no? That might be part of it.
I swear Diva is one of the harder bosses in the game, despite being the first boss. She's harder than her sisters and the 3 bosses after her IMO. Harder than Shiva even.
Also I gotta say while I warmed up to Axel a little more, Cherry is not cutting it for me. Easily my least favorite to play so far, as her damage sucks, her grab leaves her too open and pogo madness gets shut down hard by donovans and other enemies with anti-air moves.

Diva is maybe a little easy if you know to sidestep her a lot but the amount of superarmor frames she has is pretty trash. Which also makes fighting Beyo and Riha a pain if you're not a retro character.
Also where's my fuckin playable SOR 4 Shiva dev team
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowI find the Commissioner to be the hardest boss to fight, especially when he Turns Red.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. Her sisters are way more lenient regarding i-frames and their moves are slower/easier to avoid too. Plus I find managing the goons alongside Diva more troublesome.
Her, Bourbon and Estel rematch are the bosses aside from the final I tend to lose a life on most.
Commissioner isn't too bad, just bait his God press from the far screen and punish.
Getting better at handling the biker ladies. Different colors have different trajectories/armor on their headbutts, so pay attention to that so you know which ones to prioritize in a group.
The upper tier Donovans are really annoying. Mainly gudden and Z, as they're good at throwing and catching weapons. On another note, the Galsia room in Shiva's level is one of the hardest parts of the game. I always die or nearly there.

I haven't been here in a while...
So, I'm planning to pick up this game for my Switch tomorrow. I won't lie, I don't like how they cut out some features (Didn't your characters have the ability to run at some point?) and I was hoping they'd expand on 3's combat system.
Don't Press Your Luck too many times in life. You'll just get whammied. This is the most frequent complaint I've seen and I feel that while the combat itself is good, perhaps even the best in the franchise or among any beat em up for that matter, the mobility for characters should've used 3 as a basis and not SOR 2...something I said from the start. Playing as the SOR 3 characters only further enforced this for me personally and Blaze/Axel feel a bit gimped in movement because of their lack of movement options. You can use the air special but due to how they changed that you can get punished for it. I actually dislike the new special system and feel at least air specials should only have the health penalty if they make contact, which would make them more reliable for getting around.

The run and doge mechanics were the only thing they really cut. Everything else just got tweaked.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Good typo there. Such tweak. very punch. no roll. much air special. grand upper
ANYWAY, working through story as Cherry, she's so much fun. But also fuck the black shirted cops and their stupidass grab.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowI have a lot of fun with Blaze. Her punch combo followed by a kick is VERY satisfying, especially when that kick makes enemies yeet right into a Bottomless Pit.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. It's all about grabbing with Floyd, moving leisurely to the right throw distance and then throwing them into the pit.
The impact of your attacks, mff I can't get enough of it.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Jesus, I dunno about other forums, but the Steam forums for this game is a fucking cesspool (and the sky is blue, more at 11). I get people want the dash and roll back, but to claim SOR 4 is the worst in the series because of it? Comparing the art style to "SJW Tumblr"? Makes me think we don't even deserve the game XD
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Words have lost all meaning.
I'm a big fan of the new designs. Milf Blaze and Dad Bod Axel work really well.

Bleye knows Sabers. The whole art style makes things pop and also has everything still retain that grit. It's like people have never seen a stylized comic book before when they bitch about the design. Argh...it just pisses me off that we FINALLY get a new SOR game after 20+ years of waiting, is actually GOOD, and then see people whine about the art and the lack of their beloved SOR 3 cheese strats.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Well the rating's at "Very Positive" and it's labeled a Top Seller so at least we can rest easy knowing it's a vocal minority.
But I definitely hear you, toxic fans should really be drowned out. As in submerged in water and deprived of oxygen.
Bleye knows Sabers. In no universe is SOR 4 worse than SOR 1 lol. SOR 1 is still the worst one IMO. Enjoy your 5 enemy mook setup entire game and avoiding hits in that game is far more difficult especially since you can die so easily. It's telling that Galsia is the most troubling mook in the game lol. Plus the game is just super stiff and limited compared to the others. It's still good for its time, but outclassed by all its sequels.
The "sjw artstyle" is like the icing on the stupid cake. Taking a glance and honestly a lot of people are just salty they suck at the game.
And mighty yeah the black shirt cops with the tasers are among the worst alongside the punker chicks with the molotovs and biker ladies. I thought the bikers in SOR 2 were obnoxious but their girlfriends are just as bad.

Heh, going through the concept art it's interesting to see the characters evolve. Floyd was originally a bearded white dude, and there's mockups of more classic enemies like Abadede and Slum.
The Chemical girls have a note seemingly saying they could give allies Super Armor instead of tossing bombs; that ability was clearly given to Nora in the final game. Galsiaaaaa!
Also apparently Axel went to live in the wild in between games? How is he gonna play his beloved video games!?
Bleye knows Sabers. On a game gear? Hope he brought plenty of batteries lol.
I thought floyd harper was a black guy? I'm happy they went with a Polynesian dude in the end.
I'm a bit bummed we didn't get the Yankii guy and the Japanese girl mook though. They had some cool concepts.
Here's hoping for Streets Of Rage 5.
I REALLY like the additions we got though. The "Dylan" enemies who fight with their hands in their pockets are a worthy addition to the Galsia/Donovan/Y.Signal fodder line and the Biker Babes and Shield Police are really fun to fight.
All the new enemies aren't just pallet swaps, they each have a distinct role to play in the fight, and that's great.
Bleye knows Sabers. From I've seen on Twitter, people seem to like the buff girls in the game, especially Estel. I've seen a lot of people wishing Estel was playable.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"
I mean I don't want punch and pickup to be the same button... I've been asking for it not to be like that for twenty years... I must un-learn what I have learned.
