Your response that post was honestly worse than Ink Dagger's, and they weren't even rude to you.

In the real world, if you point at someone and laugh and make a comment about how ridiculous what they are saying is, that's considered rude. There is no polite way to point at people and laugh at them. It is, in fact, demeaning and insulting.

It honestly kind of feels like you came in here with the intent on gatekeeping, and trying to hold people to frankly outdated and old fashioned "rules of speaking".

It honestly kind of feels like you came in here with the intent on gatekeeping, and trying to hold people to frankly outdated and old fashioned "rules of speaking".

No, actually, it's Inky Dagger and those of you defending Inky Dagger's unwarranted attack on me who are gatekeeping. You are completely misusing that word. Gatekeeping is "the activity of controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something." The use of mockery and social shaming is a standard tactic of gatekeepers, as is ganging up on someone and attacking them.

You are literally putting me in the position of having to defend myself for not wanting to be insulted by random strangers. Do you really not understand how completely in the wrong you are? What exactly is that you are trying to argue? That I have to sit here and be insulted without comment? That "friendly, civil" behavior includes ridiculing people?

I am not trying to hold people to "outdated and old fashioned" rules of civility. There is nothing old fashioned and outdated about not wanting to be laughed at and mocked. That's just a completely specious argument.

I'm sorry, but no. Nobody has the right to insult and demean me without cause. All I did was share my opinion on a TV show. I don't deserve to to have people point at me and laugh. There is nothing "old fashioned" or "outdated" about expecting other people to treat you with civility, and no, pointing at people and laughing at them has not suddenly become civil behavior.

Seriously, you people should be aiming your comments at Inky Dagger, who owes me an apology. I'm the victim here, and you people are all leaping to the defense of the person who attacked me. It's gross and disgusting, and the facile arguments you are all making are embarrassing.

You're never going to convince me that I'm the one who is wrong here. I didn't point at Inky Dagger and laugh at them. I didn't make them feel uncomfortable posting here. They did that to me. So why am I the one you're all dogpiling on?

Seasons 3 and 4 have been announced.

I don't understand why they announce this stuff so early. Ever since Marvel started planning everything two decades in advance I'm noticing this awful trend of these announcements with a lot of shows I watch. The actors should know of course since this is their paycheck, and leaks are possible of course (if not unavoidable), but this level of transparency disturbs me.

[up]x2

Nobody insulted you. Inky made a joke about how they didn't understand your post and then went on to explain their point of view and try and start a conversation, even agreeing with you at points. You are the one who started acting uncivil first.

Could Inky have phrased the start of their post better? Sure, but it wasn't an insult.

[up][up] I mean they're really just announcing a second slate of episodes.

Seasons 1 and 2 were filmed at the same time. 3 and 4 will be the same way.

Information like this has always been available, and for plenty of good reasons, it's just that in the internet age you dont need to be subscribed to "the trades" to get it.

[up]Pretty much. Its a full season order of 24-ish episodes, but they're split across the year like most American shows are.

But by marketing them as separate seasons and airing them this way, they maintain relevance and a lot of shows struggle with trying to do 24 episodes in one singular story rather than more coheasivly doing two stories within that episode order.

Alright, first episode.

  • Is Ambrose part of the Sabrina comics? Or was he invented for the sho?
  • Did Sabrina start a club in the comic or was that for the show?
  • "Praise Satan." [lol]

Ambrose existed in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic, but NOT the Archie comics. Least as far as I'm aware.

A quick Google search and a look at Wikipedia says he was in the Filmation animated series but wasn't "in any of the later media spinoffs" and that Salem has taken over his role since the 90s with Ambrose himself only returning in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comics. Comic Vine says he's been in 98 issues across different series.

Season 2 is over and done with. Damn, the story really went places and put its characters through interesting trials, really using what was built up last season.

Wait, that's it? I thought there would be more discussion.

Well, I hope sabrina got all her witch powers back, including that casting by willpower stuff. I know, unlikeley because too OP. It's just that I hate it when a character get's a new awesome power only to lose it a short time later. What's that trope called?

I didn't watch it because even though it's a trailer I'm not interested in music videos. That said, I'm ready for it to come back on Friday. No clue where things are going to go from here but that just means I have more to look forward to.

S 3 E 1 Love the development of Sabrina becoming Queen of Hell in the first episode. It's great when she flexes that ungodly power with the white eyes.

Really dig the lore of this season. [lol]

Thinking the time doppleganger will become Katrina the Evil Twin from the 90s show.

"Murder Capital of the World"

Wow do they ever have Riverdale down to a T.

I so want to see Cheryl on Sabrina.

I think, in a lot of ways, this was the best season of the show.

Pros: Sabrina’s obsession with power and her savior complex takes a dark but fascinating turn. Zelda and Hilda remain great complex characters (soooo happy that Dr. Cee was still alive). The Voodoo witch was a great, I repeat, GREAT addition to the series.

Nick and Sabrina’s relationship takes a turn for the worst but also in an interesting way. The Human Three were very active, even if they’re still not as interesting as the which characters.

Cons: The only downside is Father Blackwood, who is still the absolute worst character. Also while I love that Theo got a boyfriend, I still found the subplot boring. And there was waaaay too much musical stuff this season.

Standout: Ambrose is still the best character in this show. Someone please give this man a spin-off with Prudence because they were easily the best part of this season.

So Sabrina killed at least 4 people this season, huh? 5 if you include Caliban.

I also liked that Sabrina didn't say no when Caliban accused her of wanting the power of Hell. Which in the end was important after all.

I kind of love the development of two Sabrinas via Timey Wimey shenanigans. I hope Queenof Hell!Sabrina still gets screentime next season too. It'll be interesting to see how much they diverge. So I hope the two keep interacting.

I guess they'll have them distinguished by Spellman/Morningstar.

Finally watched Part 3. I have some miscellaneous thoughts.

There's this gag in early Order of the Stick where V's familiar would only pop into existence when someone reminded V that they were supposed to have a familiar, and then V says "Ah, right, of course. My trusted familiar is right here by my side, as he has been this entire time." I feel like that's how Salem's role in this show works.

So Herod's crown is guarded by King Herod himself, Pontis Pilate's bowl is guarded by Pontis Pilate's centurion, and Judas's pieces of silver are guarded by... Vlad the Impaler? I guess someone on the writing staff liked (or at least distinctly remembered) Dracula 2000, but how is it that Vlad is "the first vampire" while Judas, whose natural lifetime happened 1400 years before Vlad's is "the father of vampires"? Is Judas, like, some other sort of supernatural creature that lives for centuries and turns people into vampires without being a vampire himself? I'll never get an answer because this is just a sidequest in a show that isn't at all about vampires.

On the ending I found it really hard to swallow that everyone just sort of forgot about Faustus Blackwood still being on the loose. And then apparently went straight to celebrating a return to normalcy without anyone even checking to make sure that the Blackwood twins were safe and the magic time egg was where they left it. I get that there was a lot going on but even Prudence going on her rant about how they should have killed her father at the first opportunity apparently hasn't checked up on her siblings? Because if she had she would find they weren't in the dollhouse anymore and then finding them would be her primary concern like at the start of the season.

I wish they would have killed off Father Blackwood for goodness sake. The fact that he's been kept alive for this long amazes me.
