Eihaz is widely considered to be the brains behind TLA as the main script doctor. Handling an original show is something I’m looking forward to quite a bit.
I. AM. THERE.
This may sound a little unfair, but I really need a new good action cartoon in my life. Young Justice's return has been delayed until 2019. Steven Universe is amazing, but action is not exactly its strong suit. Voltron Legendary Defender is...fine, I guess. And that's about it.
However, this? And it's being made by the guy who helped make my favorite show of all time? I'm ecstatic!
That actually looks pretty cool, and it's got some good names behind it. I think I'll keep my eye on this.
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"It reminds me of a throwback to all those animesque 2000's fantasy cartoons.
Huh, neat.
Will this be 2D or 3D?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I'm thinking it will be a mixture of both, depends on the budget
New theme music also a boxThe art style of the image looks 2D to me. I guess it could be 3D that's styled to look like 2D. I'd have to see it in motion.
Either way this sounds pretty neat.
There will be a sneak peak at San Diego Comic Con, so we'll know for sure which medium of animation it'll be in after we see it.
"You can run, but you can't hide from the Buzzinator!"Giancarlo Volpe of Star Wars: Clone Wars and Green Lantern: The Animated Series fame (as well as another A:TLA alum) is also producing the series.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I'm very interested in this. Just please, please don't put the three leads in a love triangle. That's all I ask.
♭What.Yeah.
But I do like the design of that dragon in the poster.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Welp, I'm sold.
I can't wait to see a trailer.
/crawls back under rockSeems neat.
Although I am a little wary of a main character being an "assassin".
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome Rob@32ndfreeze: It does call her (I'm guessing we're getting Two Guys and a Girl) an "unlikely elfin assassin". They might be going to play her lack of ability/desire to kill people for comedy and/or drama.
Nooooooooo

Love rectangles and squares it is!
New theme music also a boxI'm super excited about this because I did not find Voltron: Legendary Defender to be the "next Avatar: The Last Airbender" that I thought it would be, plus I love dragons.
I see everyone fears romance and shipping; on a related note, I really, really hope that a certain Vocal Minority of the V:LD fandom doesn't get ahold of this one.
They/them or she/herTwo male characters and one female character tells me the Fandom can't help themselves.
35 year old white man.Heh does that dragon have arms?
Also I’m assuming the two princes are princes of the opposing armies in the war.
Though I wonder if the titular Dragon Prince is gonna be either of them.

Personally, I never felt that Voltron would be the next A:TLA, but I was expecting it to at least be on par with LOK. It's not.
As far as shipping, though, meh. When a serialized action show is based around young adults, there's bound to be shipping on some level. Live-action or animated. And lighthearted shipping can be fun. I have good memories with Avatar shipping. Some bad ones, too.
I think a major shipping fandom is pretty much inevitable.
Unless of course the show turns out to be terrible.
I can't say I mind too much though. Large legions of fans can only be good for a second season, and animated shows with shipping tend to produce a lot of fanart, which is an added bonus.

Have you seen Wakfu on Netflix? The action usually falls under "cartoony violence" rather than "real violence" (except when it gets serious) but it's well-animated. It's based off an MMORPG with different player classes, so you have the sword guy and the bow girl, but you also have a hero who can open portals to redirect himself and enemies, a plant summoner who fights with vines and summoned dolls, a time mage who likes to blink in and out to attack, and a guy with a shovel.
As for shipping, I say just make it a One True Threesome and call it a day.
It’s a necessary risk.
A large & devoted fandom means the show is popular & well-liked but the more people involved increasees the likelihood of more asshole fans.
Plus when it’s popular it’s inevitably gonna hit with claims of “its overrated” & such.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Dont you ship Alfe x Tux Dog from Problem Solverz! FOR SHAME!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I apologize. I’m not against shipping in general and know it will be inevitable, but I’m afraid that the infamous Klance stans will migrate to this show and start doxxing people who ship other things, harassing staff, etc.

From Aaron Ehasz, the head writer of Avatar: The Last Airbender, comes an all new animated series for Netflix.
