I still enjoyed this episode, but man, I want them to talk already. I'm hoping this one was the "calm before the storm" episode and we get some more resolution next week. Don't want it getting stale.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I'm kinda expecting Anti to turn on Akane at some point.
Right now, he only cares about fighting Gridman, to the point of obsession and even attacking other Kaiju because he views them as in the way, but if Akane pushes him too far, he may decide to get her out of the way as well.
Or maybe Kerib will alter him so that he's focused on a new target, like Akane herself. Being chased down by her own creation would probably be nice heaping helping of humility.
One Strip! One Strip! Some interesting tidibts that I found
Short explanation is that Gridman's direction wrote a short, yuri-themed webnovel a short while ago, probably the Gridman was in the planning stages and basically has included the characters from it in Gridman, appearing as Akane's friends in episodes 1 and 3, while there is a reference to someone who is probably Akane in the webnovel (unnamed, but if this was planned, that was probably deliberate given how early in the planning stages the show was).
Episode 4:
It seems that Yuuta has a bit of a crush with Rikka which is interesting. And Akane seems just to get more pettier and pettier each episode such as getting rid of 3 groups of Arcadia boybands because one of them touched her and her treatment with Anti is no better either. But all in all, this episode is decent as it manages to develop some of the characters a little bit especially in Rikka's case who tries to help by resetting a computer lelelel. And more feet shots for Akane and it seems that Akane almost knows the real identity of Gridman is. Oh yeah, the fight is rather interesting.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."That is amazing. In a good way, the little stories that are around “Gridman and his friends battle kaiju.”
Yuta and Rikka? I’m down, especially because neither of them are going to drag this out. Also freaking GRIDMAN giving Yuta dating advice was amazing. I need the next Ultra series to have an Ultraman give a human dating advice.

Teenagers being way too impressed by some guys with YouTube channel? Gridman is keeping it real.
I'm not really feeling Rikka right now. She's kind of uninteresting tbh.
Akane gets worse and worse with each episode. I though for a second that Anti will start chocking here there and was ready to rejoice, bu alas, not yet.
Yuuta finally getting some more development again. He's kinda dorky, but what can you expect from a guy who can't remember shit. I wonder what's the thing with him and Rikka is.
I wonder when the hooded character in the OP will finally do his/her debut, considering how s/he has appeared in almost all the episodes as part of the background.
Just caught up! Liking it thus far, though I was a bit annoyed by pulling a Disney Death on Yuta and Gridman so early. Gonna be a bit hard to keep the tension up when he can just "enter standby mode". The overall element of mystery may be one of my favorite things thus far, besides some really sweet battle scene animation. I'm really hoping all four combining with Gridman is a thing later in the series, since I just realized each support character seems to focus on a specific part, implying they all can attach at the same time.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"They just need to install more RAM into Junk.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireSo apparently Pony Canyon released an official update of Gridman's original theme, which makes me wonder if it's gonna show up as an insert song later on.
Of course now I'm wondering if Trigger is gonna try their hand at more toku with cult followings in the US. Who wants a Trigger animated version of The Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nóg?

The original plan was to get Ultraman. Gridman was just one of the two properties like Ultraman that they could get the rights to.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireWell yeah, Ultraman was taken, with the Netflix anime due next year.
And I think Trigger’s western following infinitely prefers this to Andro Melos, a show so obscure it’s only on This Very Wiki as a footnote for of all things, Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills.
And yes, that was real.

There's an error in the video.
Anyway, caught episode 5:
Max seems to catching on to the coincidence of Kaiju appearing wherever the scooby gang Gridman Alliance is, and Akane has more or less confirmed that Yuta becomes Gridman (which isn't exactly the case, but close enough).
So what do these audio dramas say?
One Strip! One Strip! For this one After the battle they debated who will keep the Junk while waiting in a family restaurant, Calibur can't because his cats will chew on the power cable, Virr can't because he has a fish tank and Yuuta's home is on a 4th floor, without an elevator, so in the end they decide to give it back to the store.
Of curious note is that in the restaurant's reception Yuuta wrote down Gridman instead of his name.
I actually ended up listening to it before you wrote this post. Should have mentioned that.
So I guess they are just post episode wrap ups for extra character interaction. I should probably listen to them more.
Also, Borr name dropped Sydney. Her name was part of the Adhesive missiles he used against Anti.
I can remember what the fire retardant missiles were called though. If they used a name from one of the characters, I wouldn't know.
One Strip! One Strip! The last shot was a bit ominous, though. Odds of the kaiju regenerating?
Wake me up at your own risk.I think is more something like the world recycling the used assets, asuming they are in a digital world
and I'm annoyed to admit I forgot about that. Either one is possible, though it likely has something to do with how everything gets reset afterwards.
One Strip! One Strip!Akane lying on the garbage bags was oddly appropriate.
Yuuta is getting some weird flashbacks. Also, keeps ogling Rikka.
I like how this episode showed how inconvenient the whole setup is. They're lucky Kaiju only attack where they are.
Rikka has no condition at all, evidently she's not much for sports. No wonder her ass is huge.
Coool fight as always. I like how Akane keeps trying new gimmicks with the Kaijuu.
Episode 5:
The fight against the mountain beast that Akane create is a bit interesting and Borr is the best MVP to beat that beast. Man, that ending though. That was a surprise! But this is not the best highlight of the episode. The best highlight is.....:
Akane and Rikka were in a swimsuit! They look great and I'll give the episode a 11/10 cuz why naut Needs moar fanart for Akane and Rikka in a swimsuit and there should be a religion of it *brickd*. Overall, an interesting fanservice episode with Akane and Rikka being in a swimsuits *nosebleeds*
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."I can't find someone attractive when they're literally laying on garbage. Doesn't matter how busty they are or how little coverage their swimsuit has. I'll never get that Japnese stereotype of the shut-in that never gets rid of their garbage. I know the stereotype is deliberately unappealing, but it's just so inconceivable to me to live in garbage that it just puts me out.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireCaught up with the show, this kaiju action is scratching an itch I didn't know I had
Also Samurai Calibur is the best, I wanna see him taking care of his cats on-screen

And I want to see Max's helmet collection.

Edit: Now that I rewatched the episode, the song that some guy in the background begins to sing when Yuta & co are in the karaoke is one of the insert songs from the original.
