I always felt the best revenge against the people who hated your product sight unseen was to make them love it.
When people questioned Beast Wars as not being a real Transformers show, Mainframe entertainment pumped out three seasons of now classic television and made it the benchmark for quality writing in Transformers alongside the Simon Furman comics.
When Ashoka Tano was introduced and viewed as the worst thing in Star Wars since Jar Jar Binks, Dave Filoni went out of his way to give her massive amounts of character development so when she appeared in other media, people cheered. And just for fun he made Jar Jar a lot more sympathetic to boot.
Because when you do that, you force those haters to admit they were wrong, to trust your work. And isn’t that the biggest thing one can hold over haters?
It suuuuure is!

"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."But why bother when all those haters are poop mouths?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm seeing people in that twitter saying that Thunder cats is cancelled, though that sounds like wishful thinking
New theme music also a boxThat isnt new at all.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. Not cancelled per se, but it appears production has wrapped, so this is the only season.
And yet they still left Grievous a joke.
Ah Gendy!Grievous....how I miss thee.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. The Clone Wars Grievous is still good in his own way.
@Beatman 1: On the other hand, they clearly have an audience that has allowed them to exist for years.

True, though cartoons are rarely cancelled in the same sense that live action shows are due to the continuity of production animation requires. Honestly the only really notable case of we've ordered X-episodes but we're cutting production now is Invader Zim where the audio recordings and story boards for 10 episodes were made, but production was brought to a dead stop before they could be completed.

The weird thing about them taking shots at all their critics is that the show's only been out for a month. At least TTG waited a year. Pace yourself, geez.
That was literally TTG episode, so I'm not surprised.
Not to mention the Roar haters had like a year and a half to voice their grievous complaints before the show came out
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I'm honestly surprised they are still doing shit like this.
I mean Hell the hate for Roar has already long died down by now. Most people have just moved on by this point.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The staff has moved on. Then again this episode was delayed, so it may be a case of the delays moving the air date from a time when it wasn’t certain production had wrapped.

I mean, clearly not since people are still complaining in this very thread.

Because of what we just saw!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Yeah I think this crossover episode is done mostly by the Go writers then the Roar ones, mostly as a misguided attempt to defend the Roar who has been continuously dogged on even before its release.
Plus, from all the episodes of I saw with Roar, it didn’t try to state how much its better then the original and most of its jokes affectionate make fun of elements and tropes found in the 80s show.
Basically while the crossover episode definitely suck, at this point I don’t think its an accurate reflection upon the writers involved with the actual program.
Yeah, that's something I was afraid of. From what I saw of the show itself, it wasn't my thing, but it seemed harmless. TT Go's insecurity and smugness could taint that image in the eyes of many.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Unfortunately it already did. Just take a look at the comments in Know Your Meme. Everybody there are assuming said crossover episode was the fault of the Roar writers and proceed to demonize the crap out of the showrunners (ironic given the site's stance against Cancel Culture).
Yeah, I question what kind of reality I live in as of now.
"Teen Titans Roar" was written◊ by Warner Bros alumnus Michael Jelenic, who also voiced OG Snarf in this episode calming that "nobody cares about him" or the nonchalant 2011 Lion-O.
In addition to writing and producing a couple of episodes for TT GO and Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Jelenic also happened to have written the pilot episode for the 2011 Thundercats ("The Sword of Omens") along with producing 12 episodes of it. He's also credited as a "consulting producer" for Roar on only two episodes (so far).
Also, after watching the episode itself, it seems that Roar Lion-O's self-deprecating line◊ that comes right after OG Lion-O's "poop-mouth with poop opinions" went completely unnoticed? Then has Kenney cap off with some fanservice?

Honestly Thundercats Roar is just sorta okay but I really don't get this hatedom the show has garnered. It kinda looks like people just made excuses to be mad, harassed the creators, the creators didn't take it well, so they used that as an excuse to be even more mad.
Also am I the only one who remembers people bitching about the 2011 show being "too anime >:(" like I'm 90% certain it's a totally different crowd of people bitching now but it just strikes me as really funny. I liked OG Thundercats too but some people be acting like it's sacred.
Thundercats is in that weird area of 80s cartoons that were bad, but everyone remembers them and the fans get unreasonably hostile about. (G.I. Joe and He-Man come to mind as well) Like the '11 version was better than the original in almost every way, but people still bitched about it constantly because it 'wasn't true to the source material.'
I REALLY want to believe that was the Teen Titans Go Writers talking. Because I was actually starting to enjoy the show and thought of it as a cute underdog show. Too bad.
