Herc was a party member in BBS, albeit briefly.
According to Disney Animated Canon, The Rescuers Down Under is also in the Renaissance. Then again, it's a sequel to The Rescuers, so yeah. I'm not sure how Pocahontas will work due to how controversial it is. I think something from The Bronze Age would be cool. Something like Fox and the Hound or Robin Hood would be neat.
but yes. The reason for that is it was released between Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.

It's been 3000 years…That's because Olympus Coliseum tend to pull double duty as the world where a Guest-Star Party Member from a FF game appears. The aformentioned Cloud was in 1 (though not as a party member, 1 is the game where not all the Disney worlds had those), II had Aurom and BBS had Zack (in additiont o Herc).
That might still be the case for III, its just that, like BBS, the FF character wouden't be mutually exclusive with Herc (because of the headcount limit being 5 this time). Though I wonder who the guest will be this time?
Robin Hood might be a good pick, like Zootopia, only Sora would need a new form, and it might go well with a Excalibur-based keyblade if S&TS is not in the game.

I guess it's also the mandatory "arena" area for RPGs, hence why very little world exploration.
Ah so my memory's fuzzy then. I always thought it came out before The Little Mermaid haha. I guess Down Under and Pocahontas are a little more "grounded" hence why they're not featured, but then again so were The Hunchback Of Notre Dame and Tarzan.
The Monster's Inc Keyblade is called Smile Gear, Tangled is Ever After and Toy Story's is Infinity Badge.
With how good the rock titan boss fight is for a first world, I expect the final boss of KH 3 to be on par with the Finale of The Wonderful 101 in some fashion:
I wish KH 3's battle system looked as competent as anything made by Platinum.
Honestly, I wish Platinum Games would just buy Square Enix.
Yes I know which way I put that. That's the only way it would work. Not financially, obviously, but artistically.
I mean... it's like you're implying 3 doesn't look cool enough.
Putting my extreme contempt for everyone else's love of Platinum Games since Revengeance came out aside, I think KH 3 looks pretty darn good even next to most of Platinum's titles. I say that having played Mad World, Anarchy Reigns, Revengeance, Vanquish, God Hand, Bayonetta, Nier Automata. note
Is it combo-heavy, repetitive, lacking in tutorials and a block button, or grade-based? No, it isn't.
But I wouldn't want it to be anything like any of those. note 3 is already a massive upgrade from the other two games, even next to the latest God Of War it's still dazzling. I can't say Platinum doesn't usually add a certain polish to their action titles and they definitely are willing to experiment, but not all of their water turns into wine.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The thing I like about Platinum games is that they manage to be flashy and cool while still having a lot of intricacy and depth in their systems.
What I'm saying about Kingdom Hearts 3 is that it looks to be all style, no substance.
I mean, I mentioned competence.
Clearly, ymmv, but I'm still struck by that thing we saw a few days ago where Sora has this big finishing move drill thing, and the moment he's done spinning his drill straight up in the air, he takes a second to recover and a sniper Heartless just shoots him.
A Platinum Game probably wouldn't have that.
I'm not even saying that all of Platinum's mechanics work perfectly every single time, but game mechanics and the way those mechanics fit together and intersect and interact is something they seem to think a lot about, and comprises their signature style.
EDIT: also how dare you speak a word about automata

Alright, I guess I can understand your reasons, but in that example I don't see what they would've done differently. I missed this drill thing, but it sounds like a move that required a few seconds to recover, so it's risky, the same as using a heavy attack in any action-platformer.
The only reason the internet wouldn't shut up about Automata is because of 2-B's backside and you know it, Yoko Taro may a mad genius but he knows what he's selling.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I think Nier Automata is a Come For The X Stay For The Y thing. (Come for the robot ass and/or awesome gameplay, stay for the soul-crushing nihilism.) But that's probably better suited for that thread than this.
It's been 3000 years…This is true, the only thing I know about Nier Automata is that it has a bunch of attractive, sad robots.
This song needs more love.Reminder:Don't.Date Robots, even sad looking ones

New theme music also a boxWell it's "come for the pretty robots/Platinum gameplay, stay for the godlike music and creative scriptwriting/use of gameplay as a storytelling medium" provided you weren't already a fan of the first Nie R, like I was. It was one of my favorite games last gen and quite possibly my favorite JRPG of all time. In fact, I spoke to multiple fans of Yoko's previous work who were a bit miffed about the whole 2B meme, because they felt it was damaging the reputation of the game by making people think it was a shallow fanservice game with good gameplay like Bayonetta, which was never going to be the case.
Speaking of which unnoun, you should play the first game sometime. Its last ending is brilliant as well and something very special (people who've played the game will understand what I mean).
But this is a bit off-topic, yeah.
I think KH 3 looks fine gameplay-wise, I don't know if we can say that it's all flash and no substance until we actually get our hands on it and see the bigger picture. I mean I used to have that opinion of KH 2, but when KH 2 FM came out and I spent some time thinking about it I was forced to reconsider so.
There is some reason for concern given that it's being made by the Osaka team and all, but I heard the small demo that came with 2.8 was already an improvement so who knows?
My biggest complaint about the game from what I've seen is mostly just stuff I already knew was going to be suspect (some stilted dialogue/voice direction), but I never had any expectations for the plot of the game anyways.

Herc was a party member in Coded.
It still feels weird Herc is the only ally in Olympus. Pegasus should be there too.
I played the original Nier.
I mean, a bit.
...Okay, I said "fuck this" and snapped the disk because I was annoyed over a fishing minigame at some point.
How did a fishing minigame cause you snap a disc?
New theme music also a boxFishing minigames suck.
This song needs more love.It must have been Sonic Adventure levels of bad.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I took it out and broke it in a fit of rage.
It was admittedly not quite. Entirely deliberate? At first I just took the disc out to put it away, but then I just. Snapped.
It was a really fucking terrible fishing minigame.
Oh no, much worse.

What kind of 7th circle shit is that minigame?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I take it the fish weren't biting and you didn't have a proper rod!
New theme music also a box
You know, I'm actually surprised that of all the times we returned to Olympus, they never featured Herc as a partner. I guess he wouldn't even be here too since the movie is mostly a singular protagonist. Unless they make Meg or Pegasus the additional partner.
Down Under was also during the Renaissance? I always thought it was before. Oh and I guess we shouldn't count live action movies off yet. I seriously want National Treasure
