An animated series from Vivienne Medrano, it follows the escapades of the princess of Hell as she tries to curb hell's overpopulation by creating the titular hotel to redeem souls and get them into heaven.

Plus the teacher client from the first episode is a pretty decent person.
She just made a single horrible mistake in a moment of spontaneous blinding rage and it damned her forever as a result.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."If anyone in Hazbin ends up qualifying for a Complete Monster, it'd probably be Valentino (abuses his employees, lovers and pets, sexually assaulted Angel implicitly multiple times, even the other denizens of Hell revile him, etc.), but even then, we really shouldn't be bringing up that trope at all until the show is fully released.
I think HH could potentially have a character who could qualify, but for now, we're basing that entirely on speculation, so we should refrain from discussing it until more canonical details are added.
Lurker CJ out!
"”villain” and “protagonist” are totally opposing terms"
Yeah sure why not.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."What IQ has to do with anything? You asked for redeeming qualities in characters, we give you them.
Just ignore that conversation chain, it's an exercise in going absolutely nowhere.
Plus even dumb villains can love people.
Edit: by mod.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."redacted

They aren't really stupid anyway.
Reckless sure but they can all be pretty devious.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm somewhat understanding to having issues with Villain Protagonist stories, since they tend to make everyone into a jerk or a remorseless killer, solely (as i said before) so Villain Protagonist would stay as "someone to always root for" and denying his opponents "higher moral ground" and to negate any of the points they would make.
But as said before, both shows are about demons, who tend to be evil by nature, and humans (who are bit more free in "agency and nature" bit to be able to be good) are not that big part of their plot (we can take into account that IMP only interact with evil humans and assholes, due to being hired to assisinate them, so to exclude the rest of humanity from it, so people, who are worried, can say that not all humanity is evil or as bad as demons).

Can we even count the hellborn demons as "evil" by default when, as demons, their standards of morality are a lot more warped than humanity's?
Although I kinda have the headcanon that there's a small population of demons who live off Hell's grid up on Earth after having migrated there back in the dark ages when humanity's belief in the supernatural was stronger. I'd have to imagine that any demon who spends a lot of time around humans will have some humanity rub off on them, assuming they don't eat said humans first.

Wicked rather then evil I think
New theme music also a boxMore like ruthless. There's a big emphasis on powerful demons upholding an image of being infallible and lording over the weak. If they show traces of a soft side, other demons will smell blood in the water and they'll lose their status. Just look at Stella and Asmodeus.

@ Targetmaster Joe, HBO Max doesn't exist in Canada, so I wonder where it ends up where I live. Most HBO stuff ends up on a local service called Crave, but some animated stuff like Close Enough ended up Netflix Canada eventually.
Horribly late response, but earlier this month, Vivienne praised the newest [adult swim] series Smiling Friends. What's really cool is that Vaggie and Loona (or rather their actresses, Monica Franco and Erica Lindbeck) have side roles in the show!
On a more related note, someone's noticed that composer and vocalist Sam Haft, who gifted us with "You Will Be Okay", listed the A24 version of Hazbin Hotel as one of his song-writing projects.

An update tweet on what's happening with the season finale of Helluva Boss.
Basically, it's very far along and will be out as soon as the team can manage. However, the team still needs more time and support to properly polish the episode as it ended up to be more ambitious than they expected.
Good news though is that a lot of progress has already been done for season two.

All aboard the hype train! Choo-choo!
Hey, anyone still on the hype train?
Because we got a new look at Charlie?!
Wait...Charlie Morningstar? The plot thickens!

So, her surname was changed from Magne to Morningstar?
She IS Lucifer’s daughter, so it makes sense. A bit of an odd thing to change though.
Really leaning heavily onto her daddy, Lucifer.
Was actually surprised Morningstar wasn't her surname originally.
I guess Vivienne really wanted a Charlemagne pun, only to realize "what a minute, that doesn't make sense for a demon princess".
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.
... How have I just realized that now?
It probably also helps that we didn't hear her being referred to as Magne in the pilot (as far as I can remember).
Mollie and Moxxie's true love and affection toward each other.
Stoals cares for his daughter and Blitzo.
Blitzo cares about his friends and family.
