They met up at the cat café earlier, and appear to have a somewhat strained relationship because her dad doesn't really want Kokoro to fight.
And I suppose their meeting really wasn't much to talk about, but in a way that needs be talked about lots.
This is also one of the more explicit indications that Magical Girls not risking their lives is considered taboo. Something we'd previously seen a bit of with Zoe.
