Anyone a bit disappointed with Dynasty Warriors 9 may sigh in relief with the announcement of this.

So, who wants to guess which characters will be in the game?

After the massive letdown of Warriors All Stars, my expectations are tempered.

They will definitely put in the characters from DW8 and SW4 (II too).

The ones on the air would be characters from DW9, but with Zhou Cang getting DW8-ized in WAS, this might not be a problem for Koei. For Spirit of Sanada characters, they'll just take the prime designs, meaning Masayuki gets his old (not young) model, Chacha gets her teenager model.

They showed European Pantheon buildings, so I am thinking that they may also put Jeanne d'Arc and Achilles as a more 'permanent' cast, meaning that we may see Legends of Troy (I only remembered Paris, Hektor or Penthesilea) and Bladestorm characters (I'm guessing Edward, La Hire and Gilles)... in addition of new Mystics coming from the Greek Pantheon (the likes of Athena, Ares, Zeus, Hades... whichever ones are participating in Trojan War)

Really surprised by this. WO3 seemed too big to top, and between Warriors All-Stars happening and DW9 making big changes, I never thought DW8 would get its due.

This has potential to be really really good. For as good as WO3 was, the Dynasty Warriors side of things was still half-cloned, with many characters having unique charge attacks but still sharing regular strings. With DW8, not only is everyone decloned, they've each got two EX attacks, three musous, a musou rage attack, and there are even several leftover movesets with no characters to call their own.

Plus the rosters for both DW as of 8 Empires and SW as of Spirit of Sanada have gotten so pumped up that those two casts alone almost overtake the entire character count in WO3U (142 vs 145). Factor in mystics and guests, and things get a little insane.

I'm just wondering where they could go with the plot. Orochi is gone or at least he's good with his new reincarnation and I don't think Di Chi is in any hurry to go bring him back so what could happen.

Somehow this gives me hope for DW 9 characters getting into WO 4....

To commemorate the release of Musou Orochi 3/Warriors Orochi 4, Koei Tecmo has announced a spinoff for the game, Musou Mizuchi 3/Warriors Mizuchi 4, for April Fools Days.

More info on Warriors Orochi 4 will be shared on May 10th.

Man I can't wait. Though I'm not sure if my local translator buddy will be pleased.

Hmmm I think I should just let go of the chances of Spirit of Sanada and DW 9 characters getting in.

And Zeus is the Big Bad...

Does that mean we'll get heroes like Hercules, Perseus, Theseus, etc, in the game?

Huh, the fact they're saying there'll be 170 characters makes me wonder if they'll keep all the guests character from 3 in.

Unfortunately not.

x3 Clearly we need Kratos as a guest character.

As a non-canon DLC, I guess. But I do want that.

There will be a special live stream session on June 9, 2018 at 9:00pm JST, and it'll feature the Japanese gameplay reveal, a new trailer, and a new character for Warriors Orochi 4/Musou Orochi 3.

Guests include Producer Masaki Furusawa and Voice Actors Masaya Onosaka, Eiji Takemoto, and Ryōtarō Okiayu.

Athena will be in the game.

That's an honestly terrible design for her, especially next to Zeus' excellent one. It's sad when Smite one-ups you in goddess design.

Still, really looking forward to this one. Warriors Orochi 3 was my favorite game in a franchise I adore and I'm hoping they use this as an opportunity to correct all the missteps they had with 9 and all-stars.

The only issue with Orochi 3 was that several characters where not using their iconic movesets, and given that they seem to be pulling from DW 8 that's the major flaw closed up right there. Now they just need to not mess everything else up. Stick with Orochi 3's structure, Koei! If it ain't broke stop trying to fix it!

A closer look at Athena, as well as Sacred Treasures and Deifications.

Da Ji still rocking her old look. That's fine, it's not a bad one.

I guess the sacred treasures will be like special moves? Good, the series needs interchangeable attacks like that.

Simultaneously excited and horrified at the prospect of seeing more of those deification outfits.

If koei makes the outfits likes the awakened forms from Strikeforce I think we'll be fine.

Some of those awakened forms are awesome. Some of them make me go "WTF?" and some of them cause characters to strip completely naked so... Yeah. Mixed bag.

The game's theme song will be sung by Suzuko Mimori, who also will voice Athena. The song itself will be an adapted version from her newest album "Tone", and it's name is “Kakumei no Masquerade Warriors Orochi Version” (Revolutionary Masquerade).
