I didn't play enough of RE 3 but was it really as action pack as they say?
If that's the case then I don't see the problem with them taking the RE 4 approach. Assuming they let Jill show that she's still horrified by zombies.
Well it was as action packed as the old RE engine could allow. It just had way more enemies plus explosives you could shoot to take out big groups. Plus dodging.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.That.
And you were fighting a zombie that would bull-rush you, throw tentacles at you, and fire a rocket launcher at you.
It was about as action-packed as a game could be back then without being a first person shooter.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I still can't time dodging in RE 3.
Dodging in RE 3 is way too finicky for me to get any use out of.
Anyway Resi got a Spirit Board thing in Smash Ult.
It did?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. It announced one last night, yeah.
And Claire doesn't even get a spirit, despite being one of the main characters of the last major entry in the series. I am sad now.
Because she is clearly meant to be playable
Or she is at home taking care of her cats and Leon is just running away from Chris. Jill and Wesker happen to be there
I wish somebody from 7 would have been added too, but I understand why that isn't the case.
It's been 3000 years…So who IS in?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Chris, Leon, Jill, and Wesker.
It's been 3000 years…Knowing that they are re-making Nemesis, I'm still hoping for that scene where it and Mr. X walk up to each other like they're about to start Tyrant-Bowl, only to do a fist bump and then go off on their way.
One Strip! One Strip!That...is an odd combo. Three RE 1 guys and 1 RE 2 person? They might as well not have bothered with Leon if he wasn't gonna get Claire, or Ada, or anyone else from RE 2.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Looks like the theme is three big heroes and one villain. Looking at it that way Wesker, Jill and Chris being in are no-brainers. Leon coming in to round it out also makes sense as he's the next biggest protagonist. With all due respect to Claire, Leon has three mainline titles as a protagonist (2, 4, and 6) compared to Claire's one (2). Claire does beat him in side game and non-numbered entries (discounting Darkside Chronicles where they both appear, Claire was in Code Veronica and Revelations 2, compared to Leon's sole appearance in Gaiden which probably counts as a negative modifier), but Leon appeared in all 3 CG movies compared to Claire only appearing in the first.
I'm undecided between Resident Evil 1, 4, and Revelations for the Switch. Any suggestions?
Where there's life, there's hope.1 and 4 are both timeless classics that have aged well thanks to the first one's Remake. If you've never played the series before get 1 simply for the fact that it's where everything begins.
Revelations isn't remarkable at all and not a good entry point.
So the Switch version of 1 doesn't have tank control, right? I can't stand it on the Playstation.
Where there's life, there's hope. You can toggle them off apparently.
Alright, I'll go with 1.
Where there's life, there's hope.Ok, here's my impression for the first 30 minutes.
I pick the Master of Unlocking for my first playthrough. I wonder how the lockpick works. I also picked her BSAA outfit; shane that it doesn't show up in pre-rendered cutscenes.
The control is fine. Movement is mostly like Parasite Eve, so I have no problem getting around. Aiming is a bit tricky, however.
Love the haunted mansion setting. It's a classic. Hearing the zombies groan without seeing them is the most scary thing so far. I am a bit afraid of getting near the corner when I hear zombies.
Limited save file is a bad idea no matter how much you try to use the "suspenseful" justification.
What am I supposed to do with the arrow? I think I am supposed to separate the head from the shaft.

Where there's life, there's hope.Moreso than the latter games, the first few emphasize puzzles and the Survival aspect of Survival Horror; limited ammunition, limited healing, and limited saves. There is no way to lock yourself out of progressing apart from running too low on supplies to easily deal with enemies, so take it slow and button mash like you are on a Pixel Hunt ala Parasite Eve.
Also, something everyone should be told for their first time: use the map. The colors tell you what doors are open/locked/been through already (gray/red/blue), and whether there are items left in the room (red, rather than greenish-gray for clear).

Wow, those dogs are... something.
Where there's life, there's hope.bork bork
They would need to rework him to deal with the change in design and controls that's for sure, and that you'd be able to attack him more easily now with the ability to properly aim and to keep obstacles between you and him.
