I don't think it is, but I agree that voice is one of the things Resident Evil has that makes it stand out.
Silent Hill, y u no have announcer?
visit my blog!Because it has Pyramid Head. I'd say that's a good tradeoff.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadBut Resident Evil has Nemesis.
#IceBearForPresidentMeh.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadWell I guess he is one of the main S.T.A.R.S of the series.
You want S.T.A.R.S.? I'll give you S.T.A.R.S.
Leon, go!
Terrible puns aside, I wouldn't consider Nemesis to be a star of the RE franchise. A memorable character? Definitely, considering that (as a one-shot character) he made Breakout Villain status. But he's not quite that iconic.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadX, I thought you knew me by now. I'm so very hurt.
I only said it for the pun factor.
Hence the words, terrible puns aside.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadPersonally I think Nemesis is a bit overrated. After completing RE 2 I had to wonder why G-Birkin isn't more remembered. He's by far my favorite recurring boss.
Just talking about Tyrants though, what are everyone's favorites?

He's remembered so well because he brought a new kind of fear to the game when it came out. Granted it wouldn't be considered as scary today.
I'm in the tiny minority that'll say Thanatos. I just really love that guy. You're just walking around, trying to collect the ingredients for a cure, when the music suddenly changes and you've got a Tyrant charging towards you at full speed. Though I think I just like his three themes.
It helps that he's pretty durable too for some weird reason. 3 times to finish off for good. And even then, he gets back up in one of the endings.
I loved Nemesis because he really pushed the UNSTOPPABLE thing to ridiculous extremes.
Mr X was pretty unstoppable, but even he pales in comparison to Nemesis. It certainly lives up to it's name.
Was Nemesis capable of any sapient thought?

"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelBesides the obvious (Nemesis) I'd have to say my favorite is the T-02 Tyrant. The original just left a very good impression.
^ Between knowing who is in S.T.A.R.S. and shooting Jill's only chance of escape, I'd say he does.

#IceBearForPresidentOutbreak's soundtrack was marvelous. And yeah, Thanatos was one tough SOB. I rank him as one of the strongest Tyrants, only behind Nemesis and TALOS.
Doubtful. Like all Tyrants he was just programmed to do certain things. He was more intelligent than most thanks to the Nemesis Parasite or whatever it was but I doubt he could really reason. I mean, do you think he ever topped tow onder why he was thre to kill STARS members?

I think Nemesis might be the ONE Umbrella BOW that actually WORKS. Why didn't they make any more of him?

"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelHe's very conspicuous. The point of the Mr. X line of Tyrants was that they could more or less blend in with the population.
#IceBearForPresidentWell Mr. X worked. Hunters are also pretty efficient.
As for why they didn't make more, Tyrants themselvs are very hard to make. There was a mass-production factory on Sheena Island (RE Survivor) but it was destroyed. Without that, only something like one in ten million people can become Tyrants. Even fewer people can accept the Nemesis Parasite that is what made Nemmy so much smarter than the others. He and Lisa Trevor are the only known survivors I think.
Mr X. Are you honestly saying that MR X could blend in with the population? The 12 foot, Grey skinned, Trenchcoat wearing motherfucker?

"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelHe's not that tall, really. And the Ivan variety looks even better. There are much more inhuman skin shades to choose from as well. I mean, it's not like Nemesis or the other tyrants' super fleshy look was even close to the appearance of human skin.
I'd say they're the 2nd most successful experiments too. Heck, they can even use weapons like Nemesis!(the Ivans that is)

Hence the "more or less".
The Tyrants were meant to be super soldiers, making a line that at least looks human would be an easier sell than the others.
#IceBearForPresidentOddly the most powerful viruses and creatures come from Umbrella renegades.
The G-Virus is far superior to the T-Virus and th T-Veronica Virus is better as well. (if a bit impractical)
edited 29th Jan '12 1:02:44 PM by Nikkolas
Though accidentally, the G-Virus was made under official Umbrella experimentation.
#IceBearForPresidentI wasn't aware that being chased by a nigh-ubstoppable killing machine loses its fear factor over time.

visit my blog!Is the G-Virus practical at all?! I don't think so. You have no way of controlling anything it produces.

I was sad there was no Resident...EVIL...CODE...VERONICA! (X)
