My mom and I sat down and watched the Good Cop Bad Cop episode and it was HILARIOUS. And the best part is that we didnt plan it! I was going to turn off the TV and she said "NONONONO! Those frogs are hilarious!". She did admit being a bad cop to the level Sprig got to was a bad example for children though.

And now for the "Quick Thoughts"

"The Ballad of Hopadiah Plantar": Sprig done some good lyrics, but I'm surprised Anne isn't totes triggered by even mentioning Toad Tower...I guess it's not quite as intense as directly mentioning Sasha. Also, not sure where Hop-Pop "the coward" came from and the moral is kinda hokey, but Anne and Sprig carried the story with their one-liners. Okay, okay the final payoff was epic too.

"Anne Hunter": Wow, that's one kick#$$ Imagine Spot Anne! But yeah, it was only going to be more tedious than that. Nice dance Sprig! Hallucination!Sprig however, is even better, complete with his own soundtrack. Good stinger to follow up from Ep. 2.

I think I liked the latter better than the former, but yeah, this batch wasn't quite as strong as the premiere...but still a lot of fun.

A few guest stars are mentioned for next month's episodes. Matt Vogel/Kermit guest stars as Crumpet The Frog on August 8. Zehra Fazal voices General Yunnan in the episode airing August 1. When Marcy appears, she'll voiced by Haley Tju.

Keith David is going to play a character named King Andrias, presumably the ruler of Newtopia. Andrias is the scientific name for giant salamanders, so he'll likely be Large and in Charge.

Huh, I wonder if the sleepover will have Sasha again? Can't wait to see how the three work together for once!

"Truck Stop Polly" Ah, finally, a good Polly-centered episode where she isn't just a sass bucket. Haven't one of those since that inn episode. Nice to see Anne is trusted to drive Bessie! Really liking how this world does truck stops. While the whole eavesdrop-the-gossip angle was a little tired, I liked the payoff driving the rest of the plot. The erudite truckers was an excellent gag, and it was nice to see Soggy Joe again! Loved the almost Dragon Ball Z esque scene where Polly uses the static electricity too. All in all. This might be my favorite episode of the season...for now.

What's next, can't wait.

"A Caravan Named Desire" Glad to see the whole acting thing return, after it was mostly a small hint with that book. D'awwww widdle tooth Anne is adorable! Method! Polly is also hilarious. The B-plot with Anne's puzzle is...it's a little silly and small for my tastes. Oooh, this plot got even better...even if it totes is a bit recycled from Dratonio. Really feelin' it though for HP this episode. Excellent ending. Man this one's even better than the last!

Wow, this might be the best batch yet.

So I just found out the 2nd season isn't going to be on Disney+.

Pretty depress about that.

Season 2 will be on Disney+ a month after the season ends, whenever that is. That's the thing with currently running shows, where they're put on Disney+ at least a month after the season ends.

Thanks for the heads up.

Too bad I gotta wait for a while & that's not even factoring those mid-seasons breaks

Okay, "Quick Thoughts" time!

"Quarreler's Pass": Wow, the VA switcheroo was hilarious. Also, wow Anne, why would you give them your phone...just why? Heh heh love how Anne just pushed HP out when he tried to make conversation. The A-plot weakened quickly, until the last act...but even that was a little predictable.

"Toadcatcher": Okay, the one we've been waiting for. Glad to see some comeuppance to Sasha and what'-his-name after the finale. Oddly enough, I feel more for him than Sasha, prolly 'cuz of Suspicion Island...really humanizes everyone in this show. That said, it's good to know Anne isn't the only one suffering from those events. Okay, totes loving this Yunaan character...looks like Toffee [svtfoe], sounds like Della Duck [dt2017], acts like a combo of Sprig and Polly...hmmmm....

Okay, so the first episode was prolly the weakest yet, but the second was by far the best!

A nice pair of Breather Episodes. Come to think of it, when's the last time we had an episode that was about Sprig and Polly, rather than both of them just being there?

Also, while it's not as surprising as it was last season, I still love that the show made the choice to give Sasha and Grime a genuine close friendship, rather than them using each other.

[up]The episode "Truck Stop Polly", as the title suggests, did focus on Polly. Or do you mean an episode which focuses on both her and Sprig?

I mean, that is what I said.

[up][up][up] Can't really agree. I'm not so sure I agree with Sasha's episode being a Breather Episode at all (too many little plot trinkets and waaay too intense), and while I agree that Sprig/Polly's episode was clearly a breather, I just can't agree that it was particularly good.

It's definitely a breather. Nothing with consequences really happens in it, it doesn't leave Sasha and Toad anywhere beyond where we had last seen them, it neither sets up anything we don't already know or advances anything we've been trying to follow beyond what we already know, etc.

I think the only thing it really establishes is that Grime is considered a criminal by Neutopia, which doesn't really change anything we already know about him.

It comes off as just a fun side adventure to catch us up on what Sasha and Toad have been up to (IE: not much, but still evil) before getting into the plot proper. Both episodes this week were like that: a couple fun character bits that don't need much context. Unlike the other Sasha + Grime episodes, it's not especially plot heavy - probably because they're not the Big Bads this time around.

I found the olms interesting from the perspective of world-building. So far every antagonistic creature (barring the mind-controlling mushroom) fell either into the "giant, monstrous predator" or the "sapient amphibian" category - these were the first ones that fit both group.

[up]No. Hop Pop buried it, because he knows the truth and doesn't want Anne to find out.

The ending establishes that he's going full Starscream on Newtopia, he's gonna gather an army and attack the city. That's kind of an important plot development.

Yeah, but "Grime is a power hungry despot with a conquering army who wants to rule everything with an iron fist" isn't something we didn't already know and expect.

If he had shown up later without this episode and tried to take over Neutopia, it wouldn't have needed this episode to explain. This episode is just so we can see the two of them and how they've been before the plot happens, rather than just springing them on us after a long wait.

[up] But being subservient to Newtopia is, it establishes a bit more into the hierarchy.

Regardless, I think this might just be the best episode this season...and while I'm at it, I'd say this season is much better so far over the previous.

[down] Or does Grime try it on Sasha?

Speaking of The Starscream, I think it's only a matter of time before Sasha does this to Grime.
