Also, I just realized: This movie has a black man playing a monkey. Isn't that racist? (Fred Armisen's skin isn't black, but apparently, he was black enough to play Barack Obama during his SNL days.)

I'm not sure what definition of black you are using here to get to that conclusion.
If this was live action movie, there'd probably be some choice words about casting minorities as the kongs. But voice acting doesn't get to that level.
And besides, both the singing and speaking voice of the cartoon DK were black.

Reminds me of a series of fan art of "Disney animals as humans", where most characters were portrayed as the ethnicity of their geographic region - except for Kerchak, Kala and Terk, who looked like white people in traditional African garb, as I guess the artist was uncomfortable with turning gorillas into black people.
