Rest in piss Milza you fucking bastard. You will not be missed. Theo's new crest is really pretty. I loved the art shift during this episode. It made the hype moment where Theo beats Milza finally all the more epic.

Millza's dead, and good riddance to that piece of shit. Seems he used up all his plot shields when he shrugged off a fireball to the face. That was a weird art shift during the duel. Now that Theo liberated Altrik I think he'll become the Treaty leader. That should give him enough power to try to negotiate with the Alliance.

One more death by terminal stupidity. Rest in pieces, you son of a bitch.

Though in Milza's case, it makes a fair amount of sense that he's no tactician (at least if this weren't a common trait of every Lord who isn't Theo or Marrine). He's personally strong enough that until he goes against Theo, he never had anyone who was capable of making him face the consequences of bad tactics.

Regardless, whether or not Theo's leader of the Altirk Treaty, two Earl crests probably makes him a Margrave, and the equal of Alexis and Marrine.

I'm hoping they don't pass Marrine the Idiot Ball for her fight with Theo. Give him an actually intelligent attacker to fight, with a striking force who can punch through his forts.

Marrine's been holding the villain idiot ball ever since she let Milza dick her. If she goes up against Theo she's going to lose and lose badly.

I've been figuring that Theo'll give the Altrik crest to Selge so he wont have it for long. If he doesn't give it up I'd be surprised.

Welp, been following the series from the start and it's been one of my faves so far this season. Never been too many anime fantasy series with a significant political element, but now that Isekai has almost completely swallowed the genre (for the time being) it seems to be even harder to come by unless Overlord.

Gotta say I'm happily surprised Milza got killed off so soon(ish) - any more dickish and they'd have to draw him looking like Mara from Shin Megami Tensei.

I seriously empathize with both Marrine and Alexis, but I can't help but consider them both idiots, precisely because of how opposite their actions and reactions are (both are extreme, and extremes have a tendency to be stupid). Alexis because he is utterly incapable of putting himself in the mindset of a noble living in Game of Thrones-lite setting (marshalling his vassals properly and showing a unified front, especially in light of Villar's recent victories, would likely force Marrine to either back off or actually negotiate after a few battles proved that they'd be a tough enough nut to crack, and maybe make her see that military conquest may not be the best/only thing), and Marrine beause she is utterly incapable of putting herself OUT of the mindset of a noble living in a Game of Thrones-lite setting (I don't think I need to explain this one).

It's somewhat understandable in both cases, though, given their environment and upbringing and I'm hoping that they can get back together eventually.

Villar and Margaret were fun characters with really nice chemistry together IMO, and I'm sad they couldn't get a better ending than Dying Moment of Awesome / Together in Death (ish, given Margaret literally becoming dust in the wind - Cue the eponymous Kansas song cool).

(Not finished but gotta go, will continue in a later post)

Villar still has case of informed ability even this long after his death. Seriously, that guy never really did anything much.

"Let's break away from the Union, but also let's hope that Union helps us, otherwise we're screwed." - This is the kind of brilliant political strategy that made Theo the leader of the treaty.

It seems to me that rather than politics, Theo's true are of expertise is sweet talking Siluca. If her panties were to drop any harder, they'd probably breach the mantle.

Marrine is probably regretting that she didn't just accept Theo into the Alliance right now. Would've saved her a lot of headache.

Oh, I completely forgot about the whole Order of the Crest thing. In my defense it was mentioned like once, something like... 14 episodes ago?

Oh no, not the Earl of Le off-screen!

And of course the shifty guy from back then turned out to be a traitor.

Oh, finally Alexi grows a pair! Hopefully he'll manage to stop his girlfriend from rampaging all across the continent.

Theo's area of expertise is oration in general I think. He has a silver tongue.

And stabbing people in the throat. He's gotten really, really good at that.

@Lightysnake Yeh! And good riddance for Milza lelele.

Still though, really need to watch the latest episode as from what I heard Alexis did something in the battlefield

And yeah, I can add Milza's death scene as a Catharsis Factor for some people by the by.

Theo talked Alexis out of his funk. Hence why I said its not just getting Silluca's panties to melt that he's good for. He's good at talking to people in general. The Altrik Treaty, Juzel, Alexis, that one lord a few eps ago, dude's got an impressive resume built up of putting his silver tongue to use.

I'm really not convinced that artistic talent translate well into strategic ability.

Also, that was one weird naval battle. Who knew human body could contain so much blood.

I wonder, could all this bloodshed be avoided if they gave Marrine a snickers?

I'm still lost. So Marinne didn't want Alexis to get involved in war... so she started a war with the fraction he leads? Huh.

My favorite scene of the episode was when just after Theo said that Mage Academy is the real enemy, Alexis looked at his mage who averted his gaze like a child caught stealing cookies.' "I have no idea what they're talking about chief. Mage Academy? Never heard of it."

Spare a though for the soldiers who probably spent like a week practicing the rose formation. [lol]

"Sir? With all due respect... is that the best use of our time?"

"Of course! This formation will be instrumental in ending this conflict!"

Well, all well that's end well. The two lovebirds are back together, and the three factions will be united. Now they just have to deal with the real enemies... some old dude and a cowardly vampire.

She didn't want him personally involved as he was now. The war was inevitable anyway once the previous rulers were assassinated. She probably assumed he wouldn't get involved, which he wouldn't have if not for Theo's MC talking powers.

It's nice to know Alexis won't let a little thing like gassing enemy soldiers and then massacring them to the last man get in the way of true love.

He isn't really not letting get in the way so much as acknowledging that Marrine's done some shit and he's willing to forgive her for it if she let's him shoulder some of the blame.

Episode 21:

This episode would have much more impact if Aishiela had a bigger presence in the story. But that's the case of everyone in the main characters entourage.

So an organization of back alley mages and dropouts took over the Mage Academy... lol. At least their motivations are easy to understand, who would want to lose his magical power just so peasants don't have to worry about demons?

Kayeka Since: Dec, 2009

[up]Yeah, Aishiela's thing was pretty sudden, and I don't think we got to hear why she joined up with those Pandora peeps in the first place. Pretty much no foreshadowing whatsoever.

[up] It's implied they approached her when she got kicked out of the Mage Academy. And that she still holds a grudge against her father over his actions in that period so it probably would have been worse when her feelings were still raw.

Almost like she's a plot device cleverly disguised as a character.
