Considering it says nine playable characters and the two Yoshis are nowhere to be seen, I'm guessing Bowser and goth Rabbid are playable, but will be antagonistic until the final worlds.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Noticing some people have been taken a liken to that edgelord rabbid. Can't wait to see all the tasteful fanart

Please don't, I do not need Brain Bleach at this time of the night.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Why?
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I mean, if you wanna imagine it, then go ahead. I ain't stopping ya.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."The trailer was perfect. Playing Rosalina's Theme is hilarious when it panned to Rabbid Rosalina.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.Apparently Luigi has been switched from a sniper to an archer.
I'm guessing weapon assignments will be more flexible this time around, I don't expect Mario to be Guns Akimbo the whole time.
But maybe not? Not exactly easy to second-guess what they're doing in a game called "Mario + Rabbids"
Bleye knows Sabers. Is the Blue Cloaked enemy Rabbid Rabbid-Geno?
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.Doubtful, unless they somehow managed to get Square-Enix on board.
Which they obviously haven't, but imagine how hilarious it'd be to toss in Final Fantasy elements into this already extremely weird crossover.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."It wouldn't be the first time that happened. Remember that Mario basketball game with classic Final Fantasy characters?
It's been 3000 years…Yeah but that was because it was developed by Square enix
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaThe only time Square let Nintendo do things with their IPs and without their surveillance, apart from the FF characters in Smash, is that time when somehow they managed to give Geno a cameo Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. And even then, that cameo was cut in the remake.
The weird edgy Rabbid kinda looks Square-esque, though. Who knows.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."It's the same idea as Mario Hoops 3-on-3. It was developed by Square-Enix. And were allowed to combine it with the Mario franchise.
Ubisoft develops Mario + Rabbids, and easily uses their own characters and are allowed to do a lot with Nintendo's Mario(and related universes) characters.
SE having any kind of guest or cameo in Mario + Rabbids would be a completely different situation. Though that's actually pretty much like what happened with the original Mario & Luigi, licensing SE to use some of their content(cameo or more).
The core difference is Mario + Rabbids pretty clearly allows for a lot more characterization-related stuff than Mario Hoops 3-on-3. So they're giving Ubisoft a huge amount of leeway with this alone. Never mind having a non-excuse plot as well. Not that the Sports games don't have a plot lately, but they're rarely more than a quick excuse. It's the characterization that shines throughout them, to quite a degree.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.I like how well the trailer rides on this game being a sequel. The trailer wastes no time explaining why Mario has guns, because the shots of Rabbid Peach are all the explanation it needs.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Sparks of Hope launches October 20th
Event tomorrow at 9 am PDT.
Also, heard of 3 DLC packs.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Can confirm the 3 DL Cs; they're listed on the eShop page for the Gold Edition (although only as a generic "DLC number ").

Oh dear god they made Boosette canon.
But seriously this looks great. I really gotta actually play the first game, I bought the gold edition when it was on sale ages ago but never actually got around to playing it. Gah, I do it after I’m done with Xenoblade.
Rayman will be in Sparks of Hope.

The first game was a tactical rpg, but from what I can tell this game seems to be even more rpg-esque, with enemy encounters initiating battles, rather than them being on preset stages. It makes the game slightly more non-linear. There still seems to be a large tactical element to these battles, but they also seem far more free form, rather than grid based.
