Not sure if Infinite coming back is really in the cards, but I also would not oppose a scenario where Infinite comes back crazier and more deluded (I'm thinking crazy like Phantom Limb from The Venture Bros. when he came back in the fourth season and established the Revenge Society with inanimate objects, which I sort of suggested eons ago) and Sonic is ever-so-slightly jaded about showing mercy (depending on how Zavok's threat triggers Sonic).

It would be interesting if Sonic points out that Shadow had a chance to take out Infinite before he became too dangerous and didn't.
"I don't know anything about you, not even your name". Sonic doesn't know Infinite's background.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I'm sure Infinite would be glad to share.
Shadow: "You still overthink it, hedgehog. All I did was gave him a choice. He chose poorly."
Shadow: "Infinite ran! I won!"
I mean, not to defend Shadow's assholery. But Infinite wasn't a threat to him at the time in the same way Eggman is. Different scenarios.
And if Forces was a competent game, Shadow would have made it his business to take care of Infinite.
....then again, this is IDW Shadow, who's only purpose seems to just things worse by simply existing.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Mauro Fonseca reveals himself and Evan Stanley as the creators of Surge and Kit!
As for inspirations, Fonseca cites Android 18, Prototype Blaze (he thinks), and yes Ashura as the inspirations for Surge and the King of Sorrow from Klonoa 2 for Kit. He teases that Evan will elaborate more on Kit later on.

They're putting a lot more hype into these characters than just about any other new character. I wonder why.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Not really? I think the fan reaction has just been stronger.
Rival characters almost always generate this type of reaction.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I guess it was only a matter of time before we got out equivalents of Androids 17 and 18. Wonder if Starline will get the same treatment as Gero or if Silver will show up since he's the Trunks of this franchise.
Kit does indeed look like the King of Sorrow.
Who's that?
The King of Sorrow from Klonoa.
Looking it up, the concept of dreams reminds me of Sega's Nights series.
Both series are about dreams, I can confirm that.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. Two more preview pages for Sonic #44 came out.
When last we saw Sonic, Zavok's threats got him to flashback to the "WTH Hero" lectures he got during the Metal Virus. Sonic's ultimate response to Zavok's words? To Bring It. Sonic fires back at the Zeti leader saying he won't stoop to his enemies' level out of fear. The blue blur actively encourages Zavok to wreck havoc and waste time trying to break the former, because Sonic will always fight back. This actually sparks some respect out of Zavok. The Zeti are flown back to Lost Hex and Sonic and Tails prep to help the Chaotix find the kidnapped Belle.
Evidently most heroes would let their enemies get off on the "you're weak because you won't end me" spiel, so Sonic's words are pretty rad to read here.

Huh, I wrote something similar in a fanfic...only that Sonic answered "I don't have anything to prove to you". I stopped writing because I didn't know how to advance from there.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. That's pretty much the best answer someone like Sonic (and by extension the series) can give; it doesn't exactly answer it in a satisfactory way, but it's certainly in-character for him.
He'll just keep fighting like he always has....sounds like another hedgehog.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Cool line but Sonic's arms really distract me. I think it's impossible to draw Sonic characters folding their arms, not with those huge hands and noodle arms. Google "Shadow folded arms" for further proof.
Sonic: heh, bring it on, you and egg head havent beaten me yet!
The rest of the world recovering from near destruction several times in recent memory: Dude, what the FU-
I do think it's in character.
And now, Sonic needs to suffer for it.
I'm just bloodthirsty.
One Strip! One Strip! He's just like Goku...letting his enemies go free with no consequences.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.
I'm all for that scenario. Infinite has been established as a complete utter monster, possibly worse than Eggman himself. Sonic going lenient on him would be extremely foolish.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.
