Jaune would only work if it's Volume 5 onwards, where he has enough to work with. If they're sticking to Volume 3 max, there's just not enough to work with to make him truly interesting. Him being an assist focused character doesn't work in a game like BBTAG where both characters need to pull their weight. It's not like Marvel or even Fighter Z where you can get away with a character solely for assists. I think Penny might honestly be the best bet.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...

I feel like they could make Jaune interesting if they tried, maybe focus on him being a really great assist to a partner to make him stick out? Idk honestly but, yeah he's definitely the most likely RWBY character.
I do think Cinder is probably a strong candidate too, especially if they want a villain.
