That stream was amazing. Todd in the Shadows reaction to 10 YEARS OOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD! gives me life.
She did a episode of Musicaplaining on it. https://open.spotify.com/episode/3OMtjrWI6gbcSHudh02dDT
Why is the entry on Awesome page on Omegaverse video so weirdly defensive? "Despite Lindsay's extremely and possibly somewhat justified uncharitable perspective on Addison Caine in her Omegaverse video, she still makes sure to tell her audience not to harass Caine..."
Like, the 128/1 Like/Dislike ratio seem to indicate the popular opinion is on her side. Why frame it as "it's not out of the question she isn't 100% wrong"? Rules Of Cautious Editting doesn't explain it, the entry is just stating her position for context, without making a judgement on it being right or wrong.
I'm not sure why telling your audience not to harass someone is a crowning moment of awesome. Seems like basic decency to me. Then again, with the cutthroat culture of youtube, maybe it does deserve some praise.
But yeah, you can definitely rewrite that to be less of a compliment-through-gritted-teeth entry.

Optimism is a duty.Because she had to tell a fan of hers to fuck the right outta hell after they harassed her.
Well, if you want to call that a moment of awesome, go right ahead. Just write it a bit less backhanded than that example.
Optimism is a duty.I don’t really think asking people to act decently is really a moment of Awesome, it’s just something people are expected to do. It isn’t awesome that Lindsay told her fans not to harass someone who wronged her, it’s just sad.
Didn't fans of the other person harass Lindsay? I think Lindsay was basically just telling her fanbase "Don't be like them".
If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.I’d wonder if Addison Caine wrote that entry if the “possibly somewhat justified” part wasn’t there. She doesn’t think seem like the type to even admit that.

I suppose its telling of the culture of youtube fandom (as in the fans of youtubers, not youtubers that happen to be fans) in general

Didn't Addison Caine herself harass Lindsay?
Yes, harnessing her fanbase is her favourite tactic.
Well, if you want to call a frivolous lawsuit harassment, then yes.
Optimism is a duty.Did we collectively decide to no longer post it's lit?

I don't think anyone really decided that, it's probably more that no one finds the show particularly interesting. Probably because it is aimed at a very different audience than her usual videos.
Optimism is a duty.So she deleted her Twitter account allegedly. What happened?
Not just allegedly. It ain't there anymore
There was some kerfluffle about a tweet of hers comparing Raya to Avatar, which apparently made people angry despite that being a very common take? The last time I saw her Twitter account pre-deletion there was something about how she should really be more careful about what she says, but I guess she figured just not saying things would be easier
Once again, cancel culture, the very thing I warned about on this very thread, rears its ugly head. Just because conservatives misuse it for political gain doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Ellis has always used her platform to call out prejudice. Her last video was just that. Now she’s getting turned down by the very people she defends? Even bringing up that time she used the r word? Yes, there are tweets about that. People are stupid. Just to make me feel better, allow me to list the people they failed to cancel:
Trevor Noah
Dave Chappelle
Bill Burr
Stephen Colbert
Sarah Silverman
Jim Carrey
Jimmy Kimmel
Kevin Hart (I’m not even a fan)
Samantha Bee
James Gunn
James Corden
Howard Stern
Eddie Murphy
Jimmy Fallon (Him neither)
And those are just comedians.

She grouped it in the genre of ATLA-wannabe and doubled down when people pointed out how tone-deaf it was to say that a project made by Asian-Americans was a knockoff of one created by a couple of white guys.
ETA: Checking her tweet and one of the ones responding to it, the problem was more that she called half of YA from recent years ATLA-redux, when a lot of that ATLA-redux content is being written by Asian and Asian-American authors.

Yikes dude, settle down. She wasnt canceled, there wasnt a campaign, and there's a ton of reasons why her account could not be there, one of those being being tired of dealing with a bunch of waxoos on twitter getting mad over petty things.
I didn’t she was being cancelled; I said people were trying to get her cancelled. And it won’t work.
Wait was Raya majorly developed Asian-Americans or was it like how Moana had a council of Polynesian people to provide authenticity feedback to the writers?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Some of those people H Barnill listed *are* actually kind of pricks to some extent. Not all, but some.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)
She adores how absolutely terrible it is. When Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals were being shown for free on Youtube last year, she did a livewatch of it (and the 25th anniversary Phantom performance the week prior) with some of her usual collaborators, riffing on all the bizarre choices the play makes.
