Why is it their fault for not being omniscient and reading the script/story

All they knew was Ned was legitimately plotting a coup and regicide in the wake of a death of a moderately popular king and some kind of punishment was required for these crimes.

Also medieval commoners cheered during executions all the bloody time - it was the closest you could get to public entertainment.

@Redmess: The impact of a scene can lose its meaning based on how one in the audience perceives it. For some the entire act can end up with them desensitized to such an event, along with the likes of A Million Is a Statistic.

Basically its genocide that is poorly handled when it happens and for some the bad of King's Landing outweighs the good.

Which also isn't helped by the after the episode interviews! Which do harm and not any good in the last season.

x2 I do like they point out Ned had people who who looked up to him, but how none of them came to his defense.

Getting back to the video itself, I thought it was interesting, albeit definitely overly long. She raised some good points (as well as some I completely disagree with), particularly about the final season(s) clearly being written with a particular destination in mind with less regard for how to get there. However, I didn't like the presentation. The thing is, the issues I have with the show didn't ruin it for me – I thought the final season was okay anyway – and the memes, snark, and general acidity made it feel like the video was making fun of me and calling me stupid for not hating it. It felt sort of like the kind of content one would expect to see on Channel Awesome.

I feel the decay of the show started with Tyrion, they clearly don't know what to do with him beside make him really stupid most of the time, seriously, after killing his father, there hadn't been any moment when Tyrion use his cleverness, instead all of his moment after that is he making incredible stupid decision. It kinda foreshadow the character assassin for most of the cast since the writers don't know what to do with all of these fully flesh out characters since their character arc had mostly completed. And it not like the book Tyrion have no more to grow since he still have some pretty bad habit, but since the show omit some of those bad thing about him, they now have nothing more for him.

Saw a clip of him killing Tywin, no idea why they cut out Tysha.

She’s why Tyrion decided to finally kill him.

Also from other clips I saw post book show Tyrion’s wit is replaced with dick jokes towards Varys which is another sign of the show’s poor writing.

Tyrion is a case where keeping him sympathetic to the audience was more important than him doing what he plans to be - A family killer who wants to murder all his family.

@Tompa Dompa: I don't think its intentional, but more how personal the show is to Lindsay. Its the same for a lot of people, so the show going for spectacle over substance rubbed a lot of folks the wrong way.

Tyrion want love, he desperate for love and it kinda blinded him when it come to people he attract to like Shae, he didn't kill Shae out of self defend like in the show, it out of a sense of betray, he think Shae is truly love with him but in reality she not.

There’s also not having Jaime & Tyrion’s relationship break down after the Tysha reveal to keep the brotherly love.

Boy did the shows Adaptational Heroism of the characters backfire horribly.

Shit from some spoilers I read on the sites page book 5 ends with Dany realizing after her disastrous ruling of a city that making compromises & shit is bullshit & that the true way to ruling for her is sicking her dragons on anyone who disagrees with her. Now that’s a believable turn.

It kinda funny when we think Tyrion is the odd one of the family when in fact base on other member of the Lanister, Tywin and Cersei are the odd one out.

I mean, yeah.

Aside from the fact that the people attending the public stuff weren't doing stuff worthy of warranting their deaths, the argument that "they deserved it for doing that stuff" falls flat when... well, there's more of them than we saw. By definition, the "good" people that wouldn't want to partake... wouldn't be there. And still got razed.

I mean, to put it into real life terms, I wouldn't want a maximum prison to burn down even if there were only prisoners inside and I somehow knew they all were in fact guilty. So convincing me that indiscriminate murder throughout a city because a significant proportion of them were doodooheads is going to be a tough sell.

If you want it a little closer to home, you wouldn't want a foreign power carpet bombing the US for having a bunch of loud racists and white nationalists among the population, would you?

Besides, it's not JUST the genocide run on King's Landing, it's also the Nazi-esque speech and imagery she suddenly adopts after doing that.

Nazi = bad. Lazy way to make the point of her turn evil to the audiences.

Good take, good video. Still i can't believe that the writers really though that they could even get an Emmy nomination. And they have the balls to tell to the audience that we are bad for supporting the Dragon Queen when she was burning slavers like: " Don't you see, those slavers are people too."

The actor and actress i can see, but no way in hell the writers can win. Unless this year it the only show so it win by default.

Wouldn't that threaten to cast doubt on the existence/validity of the award at all?

And it depends if they treat awarding the last season an Emmy as awarding the entire series an Emmy by proxy.

Seeing as the previous seasons have all raked in emmies, that'd be weird.
