Maybe Ed Boon was a Derry resident in the Stephen King universe?
It's been 3000 years…I saw it and I generally agree with the take it is pretty good but the first one is way stronger, but that's something I already expected due the format of the novel. I feel they did the best they could with what they had and this is, realistically, the best you can do as an adaptation of the book. There are even some elements I liked more like Eddie's more triumphant moments and death at the end and the overall happier ending rather than the bleak as shit ending King rolled around, down to the chronological reveal that Pennywise isn't even dead so the heroes barely accomplished anything.
It has a bit too much meat on its bones, though, and really feels its whopping 3 hours of length (compared to the leaner 2h10 minutes of chapter one). I feel like a lot of things could have been removed (the most obvious being the little girl Vicky) or trimmed (the first act is almost absurdly long in how long it takes for the Losers to actually get a move on against Pennywise).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
So Benzaie released his short review on the film and he loved it… but then he spent more than half of the review ranting about how unforgiveable it is that the film shows a game of Mortal Kombat next to Street Fighter in 1989, 3 years before MK was even released. Twas pretty funny.
