Sandalphon's FLB looks really good! Especially love how it's come full circle with the wings and revised Ain Soph Aur, tho what are his skills FKHR

I liked Lucilius just became increasingly annoyed and confused at the developments that went on around him. He basically found out in rapid succession:

• The world wasn't destroyed, the one job he wanted done
• Avatar is implied to be pretty much kaput
• Beelzebub was still around
• Beelzebub is a Singularity
• The Supreme Primarch powers still are around
• They're in the goddamn spare of all people
• There are two Singularities, also girl in blue is here now

no wonder he just immediately left as soon as he could

I do like that Fallen Angel is a cheap designation that doesn't really mean anything. Since what few things that should mark them as Fallen differ between them. From wings to having horns, etc.

With the ones fought ingame being the revived victims of the experiment to make Satan Avatar.

^^It's so goddamn hard to find good help.

We also learn Astrals dont stay dead when they are killed. Reviving is possible for them. Beelzebub getting killed sent him to the Crimson Horizon. Lucilius losing his body and being just a head made it harder for him to properly revive cause his mind is trapped.

It makes me wonder what happend to Neutronon that disfigured him so much.

presumably moondwellers are better than the astrals' own creations at fighting astrals

also this makes me think Loki's brother's death must have been incredibly brutal for it to stick, unless TWIST he's coming back

To be fair, the Astrals were so scared of angels being Lucifer tier they made most of them dumb on purpose. And even then the likes of Sariel was just as strong as the higher tiered ones with his capacity to think being hampered. Then they made he ordinary Primal Beasts that are canon wise not even close to their level.

Oh and I figured out why Israfel appears with Azrael in the deformed state. They're stitched together. Their torn wings you can even see are different colors.

So it's like... We only get the half or maybe 2/3 of the event's chapters right now but...

Damn, this is technically the longest non-Main Arc story event in Granblue right? Spent 4 hours trying to process everything, re-reading lines and even listing potential tropes (Haven't finished yet, still on Ch 6 but sleep is needed). And speaking of tropes, there are numerous examples on WMTSB 3 which surpassed my expectations - Like how Israfel regained consciousness through Hal and Mal's talk-no-jutsu, but Az and Iss stab themselves as a form of Dying as Yourself. There are also some Call-backs / Continuity nods to previous WMTSB events as well as potential plot points from WMTSB 1 and 2 that foreshadowed stuff here. I can't believe how much lore Cygames was able to fit in these chapters. Though probably, most of them would be more on resolving past WMTSB plot holes...

Also, what do you think would happen to the character folders now for Lucifer / Lucilius / Lucio? I believe there's still a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed there, since not even their TV Tropes entries are safe from their identity crisis (Lucifer doesn't have a folder IIRC, yet some of his tropes went to Lucio's.

Also, where would we place Sariel / Azrael and Izrafel's character folders? They did have some flashbacks of characterization that would justify their own trope lists.

I feel like Lucifer and Lucio can be combined, since Lucio is explicitly a mini-copy of Lucifer. Lucilius should be his own entity, even if he himself has the fewest tropes of the three by virtue of not actually showing up a lot.

We don't know anything proper about Lucio and the story hints he's in the Divine Tower and mentioned a clone of himself.

Which if the implication is true meanz Lucilius created a clone of the true Lucifer.

Lots of focus on Michael out of all four primarchs in the event, given the primarchs gave their elemental force powers to nature itself, I hope this leads more into them being playable. Also Michael grabbing Eugen's gun and just shooting Belial while he's doing the usual dying monologue was great. It's also probably safe to say that Izrafel and Azrael aren't the Light and Dark seraphics like people thought.

One thing I've noticed while doing the event raids: the lyrics to the new song are definitely from Belial's POV. It even has "bow chicka wow wow" in the lyrics, which somehow works.

I would like to see something along the lines of Lyria being able to shepherd Israfel and Azrael's cores the way she has with other primals, to see if they could somehow be healed, but somehow I don't think it would work.

Listening to the new Belial song, "call me anal retentive" is the lyric that caught me off guard because wow that is such a perfect in-character thing.

Managed to get Wind Heles before premium gala ended. Between her and having recently gotten Nio fully uncapped, it's amazing how much better my wind team is at melting Alexiel. I can only imagine what it'd be like if I had Siete over Monika

It really annoys me that the in-game dialogue tags and even that chart are pretending we don't know his name is Beelzebub. We've known for years.

oooooo turns out that 000 is also referring to the chess maneuver of castling, using the queenside rook (Belial? Sariel?) to switch out with the king (Lucilius, maybe?) to avoid check.

Belial used it in the chess game CG so it was a definitely a deliberate reference.

also more Chess Motifs, some of the JP fanbase seems to have interpreted the English translation as Foreshadowing for Sandalphon going from pawn (backup) -> queen (Supreme Primarch)

• d'aww Hal and Mal managed to break their programming as part of love for Az and Iss. Ofc Beelzebub can't comprehend the notion and it wasn't quite effective but the notion is appreciated
• Primarchs sealed off Pandemonium pretty much permanently to the point where the Crimson Horizon is no longer a threat and Otherworlders can't use it anymore as an entry point
• Etemenanki is the tower of the Omnipotent used to guide and communicate with people, also Bigger on the Inside
• lmao all it took to take down Beelzebub was the containment field, also he acknowledged Ilsa's Nybeth as ancient tech
• After the god split into the Sky God and Astral God, they basically fought eternal proxy wars in an attempt to overpower the other and merge once more. Also they were originally from another dimension.
• The Sandalphon bullying continues with him getting airsick
• Lucio is the Speaker, serves both gods, apparently only recently started being a Luciface, and his job is to eliminate any power that could rival the gods.
• Lucio's confusion at Lucilius believing the former imitated him was cute. Also damn Lucio being an actor was relevant all along
• Lucilius being Lucio's clone CONFIRMED. He had imprints of Lucio and other knowledge in his dreams from being an imitation and made Lucifer in an attempt to recapture it
• Lucio got absorbed nooooooooooooooooo. also Lucilius had like a bajillion plans to kill god because that's all he could think about. Though I highly doubt doing a Colony Drop with Etemenanki was really in the cards.
• Vyrn is apparently the gods' outrider.
• holy shit there was so much new music in the last part of chapter 9, also it was such a cheesy finale with the Primarchs' spirits (with Lucifer coming back via the plume) coming together to beat up souped-up Lucilius but it works.
• oh Sandalphon achieved his final uncap purely with the power of Lucifer
• fuck Belial lived but so did Lucio. And Belial did get thrown into the rift to live it out with Lucilius so happy end for him I guess?
• "muck-sucking phlegmsicle" , thanks Belial for one last parting gift.
• Sandalphon and Lucifer talking as equals finally and that CG of Sandalphon moving while Lucifer is left behind ;~;
• Playable Primarchs pretty much confirmed for sometime down the road. Dunno how I feel about Azrael, especially considering she's still got the sack on but there's a nice ambiguity with Belial's intent when he disinfected Sariel.
• Café Sandalphon had better be a thing when they finally add in that airship room feature.

And that was What Makes the Sky Blue, it was one of the standout stories where they poured in all their love and it was JRPG as fuck to the very last minute. I'll do God's Reverie and see what important bits the Speaker/Lucio drops in his Info Dump later.

I will say, knowing that all the suffering caused by the wars are a result of two halves of the same egotistical bastard trying to one-up each other does make Lucilius's goal more sympathetic, or it would if it wasn't the end of all things.

Lucilius' battle theme is twelve minutes long, they really went all out, kinda feels like the GBF equivalent of Dancing Mad.

doing God's Reverie:

• Lucio just outright dropping the LORE BOMBS from the start with all of creation being subconsciously linked, where's Phoebe when you need her to talk about dreams
• Helel Ben Sahar, so they managed to keep the Lucifer connection all the way to the end.
• The Sandalphon and Lucio first meeting finally
