Wait... Does this need a villain to initiate the countdown? Or it's totally just Timed Mission for non-Video Games?
... Does When the Clock Strikes Twelve have the same problem as You Have 48 Hours, except it's that instead being a PSOC with "48 hr countdown", it's PSOC with "countdown ends at midnight"?

Timed Mission is video game only.
When the Clock Strikes Twelve seem ok since it refers to a specific time (midnight) while 48 Hours was used for any given deadline, even if it was more or less then 48 hours, which is why it's being cut.
I've removed all wick. We can wrap this thread up.

I'd say make it a redirect. Both "clock" and "hours" are terms that people are likely to use when searching for the trope.
