Yeah Word of God might be needed. For example with Once Upon a Time it's easy to guess that it was not the original idea for Emma to end up with Hook. But Word of God says otherwise (i.e. one of the creators said that was the plan once they decide to make him a regular) and she never actually gets with someone beyond Ship Tease before hand. So without Word of God all we have in terms of creator preferred is Captain Swan.

Especially because I think there is Word of God saying her increasing turn towards villainy was planned from the start.

If the plan was to have her become a bad guy from the start then there is no way to tell if it was really creator preferred at all.

Here we are; it’s a google link but this explains it. I wasn’t aware that Claudia was meant to go bad from the start but... doesn’t disqualify things.

Before I click on this does it mention an Originally planned other romance. Because again if the other was always supposed to go bad then it's kind of hard to call that creator preferred and that is again needed. I am unfamiliar with this work so I am just asking.

Unfortunately no, it does not, but it does specify that Callum and Rayla were not the original plan, and I can indeed confirm as an avid fan that Rayllum was being shipped by the fans in Season One long before the creators decided to go with it. So it’s a complicated example.

It's complicated. I would say keep looking for that Word of God about another relationship being planned, because otherwise I can't see it with the evidence that I have right now. Sorry but without a creator preferred one we can't list it. One True Pairing might work better.

Gotcha. I do think it’s possible that Callum/Claudia was an original endgame since in the beginning Callum was established as being attracted to her Claudia but... no confirmation at all.

• Fans of 24 were rooting for Jack/Renee almost the moment she showed up. Which led to the fanbase nearly rioting after she was bridge dropped in Season 8.

I don't know much about this show. Do either have a creator preferred one?

That pairing was definitely very popular. It was one that happened though in Season 8—to the point that they cut an inappropriately placed kiss in a scene in Season 7–so it's probably a Creator Preferred one in that case.

Yeah, I suppose it is. Other than one mention of Teri and one of Audrey, Jack clearly had no other love interest in Season 7 besides Renee. The Season 8 episode where Jack and Renee finally had sex was also the one where she got killed (it figures).

I mean Audrey didn't return until Live Another Day and Jack had no other potential love interests in Seasons 7 and 8, so yeah, his pairing with Renee was canon and doesn't fit this.
