Fire Emblem Heroes

That kind of thing really doesn't work as a defensive comp in Aether Raids. People can counter-pick from five teams and all it takes is a mage and a refresher to obliterate them (or, if they give up Steady Stance 4 for Distant Counter, an Armorsmasher). It's a little more dangerous in high-end Arena because it's easy to get stuck with budget armours against him. Fortunately, armour killing weaponry generally still wrecks him, even through WTD (it gets pretty messy when blues have to do it, though).

There's also the fact that you're playing against an AI team, which means Aversa's Night will effectively neuter anyone without sufficiently high HP

Turns out coughing is a winning strategy after all.

I'm just saying that there was this whole Internet Backdraft thing going on with Surtr's announcement & I figure a lot of that had to do with him having broken skills.

Of course! Don't you know that you can simply infect your opponent with sickness via coughing?

If you cough on your spear, it adds poison damage to it. It's just science.

For real tho, did I hallucinate or the last hour had Fjorm with no booster? I legitimately presumed she would lose.

Ylgr had the bonus the last two hours. But she was too bored to seriously compete earlier, so she couldn't catch up at the end.

Oh yeah, the VG is a thing. I've been super sandbagging this Gauntlet since I'm dunking so much free time into Ultimate.

So, what are you guys hoping to be revealed in the "Feh Channel" later today? I know that info on Book III is obvious, but I hope we get a flux of new characters (As in more than the usual ten).

Super Smash Bros Ultimate collaboration. I guess maybe knowing the other game characters might be a bit more involved with Book III.

Well for me, I'm hoping that after today's channel all the haters will finally find a better game to play instead of complaining day after day.

Setting aside being a provocative prick, I am personally hoping to see more Genealogy & Blazing Sword so people's patience can finally be paid off.

I'd like to point out that it wasn't a 66% decrease- the article states that it mdae 66% of its usual monthly trend. Huge difference.

Now I dont think that FEH is dying, but I do have to wonder what IS plans on doing to bring back sales. I'm more than willing to bet that Surtr and Ylgr dropping on a two-unit banner was meant to bait people into whaling on them, but clearly that didn't work.

AR had a very mixed reception, though I think it's become wholly inoffensive at this point. I don't think it's lead to any extra revenue generation, though, since the rewards are so very minimal relative to the rest of the game.

Arena is only getting more and more criticism over time.

Book III seems like the obvious response, but lord knows that we're only getting a few chapters and maybe a free unit, and that likely isn't going to push orb sales.

Christmas is coming up, and I have a feeling that IS is going to be antsy when it doesn't generate as much revenue as last year. People are getting sick of alts... but on the other hand I wouldn't doubt that alts of popular characters sell more than the introduction of older characters.

So my question is: what is IS going to do to bring back revenue?

I'd like to hear them announce a nerf to the Spring Breeze map and a buff to most of the other Aether Raids maps. It's weird that they give one map such obviously better terrain. Also hoping to hear about this "feature for more lift" they mentioned as to the reason the season hasn't started yet and to hear something good as an implementation (read: not another baby-sitter meta provoker).

Other than that, the next calendar would be nice.

If it were up to me, I'd do what Granblue and Grand Order do and make each character feel like more than just units. Give them their own personal quests where they interact with the other characters and generally make the world feel more populated and apply the same principles to the regular story and events.

At the very least it would give incentive to "catch them all" as it were.

Okay, so here me out. Armor Trainee Christmas Camilla. Then New Year's Flying Armor Trainee Lyn and Lucina. Surely this will get the whales' attention right?

Beast units

5 more Lucinas

Really play the results of CYL, do as much as possible with the popular characters

Give unpopular characters game-breaking skills to hedge their bets

Legendary Anna who costs real money every time you use her

Actually put effort into book 3

Ridiculously expensive bundles which are sort-of good value but cost so much that are blatantly whale-only.

+10 seasonals tend to fit that bill, since they get some of the more broken skills and stat lines months in advance.

Don't forget Adrift and Eirika's Legendary Banner were in November as well. Can't let Fire & Ice shoulder all the blame. Now, we don't know how each banner performed individually, which would change perceptions, so all we could is speculate. But the fact remains, as it stands, all three of those banners performed under par in aggregate.

I think it's more of a 50-50 thing. Sure, people will roll for their favorites regardless, but FEH's other biggest selling point is seeing actually new heroes. For example, all of the Genealogy banners I believe were some of FEH's best performances. And there's always clear support for older folks.

I mean, Leif got 9th in CYL 2 Males through sheer support. Absence from the game notwithstanding, but, I don't think IS cares about the "CYL 2 was for people trying their get faves in the game" metric like we do. They see the numbers — Reinhardt (5th) getting an alt, Nino (7th) getting a super-optimized alt, and Ryoma (10th) becoming a surprise Legendary Hero.

I got the same feeling. Holiday seasons and summers typically see the biggest revenue spikes in... pretty much a lot of stuff. If they go three months in a row losing dough, they should be worried.

For starters, actually new heroes. Go back to the Year 1 model where they relegated alts to Legendary Banners and seasonals. I feel as if it's too soon in FEH's lifespan to be worrying about alts in the summoning pool. Say what you want, but Binding Blade getting its first dedicated banner after the 2-year anniversary is wrong.

Get rid of the cheerleader meta in Arena.

Put more effort into story and interaction. That's the main reason a good portion of players can't care about the FEH OCs.

Cater to the established fanbase. That's typically how gacha like Grandblue and FGO survive so long. Whales will whale, and if you can consistently fish in the conglomerate of light-spenders, you're good.

You joke, but that's actually the next logical step in terms of powercreep.

Outside of of that, actual events a la Fate/GO is the next best thing.

While I don't think people will leave in droves upon a 6* announcement (I'd certainly be a tad salty), it's a function for Arena Crowns that may be a dealbreaker.

6 star mounted armor Grima Lucina with adaptive effective damage and omni-triangle advantage.

6* would have to be very, very carefully catered toward the super whales. They make the super whales feel like their 5* +10 seasonals/legendaries/5*-exclusives were a waste (the kind of thing that would likely happen if the upgrades simply followed the old pattern and had 6* only be as strong as 5* +5) and it's all over. As is, looks like they're using the Weapon Refinery, rank-4 skills and Gen 3 BST as a substitute to that can of worms.

If they do anything that renders all our 5*+10 units obsolete, the game is dead. Way too much money and resources put into projects for people to accept them being tossed aside like that.
