Top fucking kek, lads. I managed to replicate a bug from the beta in the release version.

If you have a fancy mouse with more than three buttons, don't bind any of them to "use inventory item", or at least have an alternate bind for that one on your keyboard. Otherwise, it'll lock half of your controls (weapons, inventory items and interaction mostly) until you fast-travel, die or use the keyboard bind to un-fuck the situation.

Damn, I ran into that bug on the console. The same general set of fixes though.

Its my left thumbstick which is really damn annoying when you are trying to creep and do fine aiming.

So I was watching a stream of the game yesterday and the guy was two missions farther than me.

Turned out, I Knew It!: I predicted the Face–Heel Turn correctly because of... the armor. I noticed that the Wolves' vests have unusual angled PALS on the chest. The "Social Call" clue just confirmed my suspicions.

This game contains the vilest, dumbest, most annoying and absolutely worst case of 20 Bear Asses since a long time.

There are at least two side missions, "Natural Medicine" and "Gone Fishin'", that send you looking for particular in-world resources. In the former, Dead Star mushrooms, in the latter, metal parts, gold and jade, and gems. In both, you get directions that are not merely broad-stroke, but wildly fucking incorrect. For example, you pick up "Natural Medicine" in Infinity and you're told to look for the mushrooms near "high cliffs". Which is absolute fucking bullshit, because the fucking shrooms grow in mountain forests on the opposite side of the fucking island, right in the fucking Whalers' Bay! Exact same shit happens no less than TWICE with Gone Fishin'. While you can deal with stage one by scrapping useless firearms, you're told to look for jade on the riverbanks and gold in old, abandoned mines. Which is absolute horsefuckery, because there are no "old abandoned mines", and both jade and gold are found in or near streams in two very specific provinces, namely New Argyll and Whalers' Bay. And then, after you're tired and infuriated with this kind of running-in-circles wild-goose-chase BULLSHIT, that particular cockjockey, who miraculously hauled his ass from Mount Hodgson to Whalers' Bay, tells you to look for the gems in two particular spots of Whalers' Bay and takes off to Sinking Country. And you know what?

OF FUCKING COURSE THAT ADVICE IS ABSOLUTE STINKING ROTTEN BULLSHIT! If you go through the entire place, you will find jack smack shit. Nothing, zilch, nada, bubkes. I had to look the fucking thing on Youtube and you know what? Those gems are, once again, in an entirely fucking different province!

Your fury amuses me. Yeah that is pretty damn bad though.

I am not sure I understand the point of gear score at all, it does so little that its.... why was it even included? Coprate mandate? It does nothing to make me want to loot more when like I have to swap out the attachments on all my guns whenever I get a new one....

Hell if my upgrades transfer between the same model of gun, why don't they make my attacments do that, so that if I put a laser on my PDR, and some nice forest camo... and I find a better PDR, the new PDR has those already without me having to go into the gunsmith yet AGIAN.

It makes your enemies dumber.

The higher your Gear Score, the slower your opponents react. Particularly elites.

You could if you wish, but sneaking into the more complex bases will become a bigger chore since the guards detection range will be greatly increased. It might also buff the drones HP and increase the amount of Wolves deployed to your location once a call for reinforcements is made.

And to give an example where it can become frustrating, Walker's main base happens to be defended by a Behemoth drone you must destroy in order to gain access to the main building where he resides. And guess how much of a racket will be created trying to take one of those things down?

I tried to destroy a Behemoth at gear level 100. SOLO. Still spent an obscene amount of explosives, switching between rockets and Mk 1 grenades, had to dodge all the time and it took me at least four tries. The first one involving an Opheis gunship.

ACG once again has a solid review, and it seems to reflect the internet's general consensus: you'll (probably) like the game if you enjoyed Wildlands and have some friends to play with, but if not, avoid, or wait for a steep discount.

Sounds about right to me.

So.... is this a prequel to Horizon Zero Dawn?

Kotaku's review / opinion on it seems to sum up the frustrations, albeit getting some core facts wrong (Referring to Bolivian villages as Mexican, then saying the portrayal was racist; complaining that the soldiers spoke like jocks, despite not being full of cliched one liners)

Will likely get this on PC when it gets a sale then - when all the DLC is out or they've fixed central mechanics. I do quite like what I see buuuuut so much backlog. I imagine it'll go through a few Division esque redesigns as well.

Which is why these monetised games are so frustrating - the semi online element means the whole system could be different than the boxed game 6 months down the line.

Just goes to show the public doesn't actually know what modern U.S. military jargon sounds like. A pity that it's a bunch of the big-name reviewers, that only means their misconceptions will spread further.

I'm thinking that I saw the raid boss in one of the cutscenes. The one where Skell introduces Paula Madera to Walker has Walker point at a big black flying drone and ask "Is this one ready?" with the response being "It needs a couple more months". Considering that the cutscene shows all sorts of drone-related shenanigans including a short demonstration of Legion doing its Ramming Always Works schtick, it might be Foreshadowing, but I'm not sure.

Interestingly, despite the characters in Wildlands being roundly panned by reviewers, people with military backgrounds thought it was spot on. It’s a shame they listened to the reviewers for the sequel.

Watched one review that did state the game isn't a total disaster - the mechanics overall are fine, the story is "fine"; the lack of ending is a slight issue, clearly leaving it open for XPA Cs.

Still, gameplay does look good and has some improved mechanics over the original.

The more I look at this game, the more my "Ubisoft, you never cease to disappoint!" quote checks out.

I posted on the Support forum that one of the Ubisoft Club rewards cannot be unlocked as it's not present on the Club Rewards page. The CM who replied seemed just as confused. This, of course, is just one of broken things that should unlock but don't, and the deeper I go into the game, the more of them I find.

That and, as I'm discovering the game's plot, the trailers look like absolute bullshit. The farther from release they are, the more bullshit they are.

About a month ago, Ubisoft realized how irreparably fuckstupid their Season Pass system was. Which means, everyone received all the rewards from the first two Season Passes, and the system was shut down for extensive rework.

Now, I do hope you realize that Season Pass 1 contained helicopters with guided missiles, and Season Pass 2 contained a special reskinned APC. And everyone got them. Along with some ill-conceived weapon blueprints.

Additionally, the mystery of Skell Glasses has been solved: they're a reward for doing the Raid for the first time. And yes, the big-ass black flying drone is a raid boss.

Well now. I already had the helo with the guided missiles though. Two different types in fact. Haven't done a raid yet though. Every time I connect to Ubisofts server system it makes my internet shit the bed. It only does it with breakpoint. I can play war thunder and sniper elite IV just fine. So no raids for me.
