Heh nice, thanks for the praise.
She’s actually one of the main antagonists, a Hero Antagonist.
Story I’m working has a family of demon overlords who conquered Ancient China as the protagonists.
One of the main demons is a spider demon who has a habit of collecting human women out of a deep desire for love & companionship & also an attraction for humans which leads him to abducting the martial artists dauhters in a raid this inspiring her on an epic vendetta that ends with the downfall of the demons reign & him utterly getting the absolute shit beaten outta him by her. So the whole thing is just a one big shit-load of Karma being thrown at him.
An important detail is that his family is both ashamed of his desire for humans & proufoundly fears the martial artist due to knowing that an Avenger is a force to be taken seriously. So when they find out that the entire reason for her hunting them down is completely his fault especially for going beyond their empire’s territory into Thailand, they all become absolutely furious at him.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think it was mostly a quite blatant commentary.
That has to be deliberate.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I want to see a female character pull a Rosarch and jump out of a fridge to blindside someone trying to kill them.
Really flip that trope on its head.
Edit: ....how bout dat Castlevania huh?

One Strip! One Strip!I count three characters, (Leon, Mathias & Rinaldo) with four dead women, (three wives and one daughter). Who am I missing?
It's cool. Nice architecture. Needs more monsters.
If we do get to Simon's slice of the story, Dracula included, I hope he still has to fight all the movie monsters that served as the bosses in his game. There's something enjoyable about knowing Drac's line of defense includes a mummy and Frankestein's monster the creature.
Don't you think it would be kind of difficult to find a fridge in the historical Wallachia?
Well, I wasn't talking specifically about Castlevania, but considering you can often find Motorcycles, Hamburgers and Radios in the series, I actually don't think it'd be that hard to find a Fridge.
Dracula is cutting edge my friend. T'is a shame he uses his powers for evil.
One Strip! One Strip!I mean, he clearly employs the super-scientist equivalent of Victor Frankenstein somewhere in the castle. All those Frankenstein's Monsters that keep popping up aren't creating themselves.
Dracula's actually done a remarkable job at Affirmative Action job placement for supernatural horrors of all races, creeds, and colors. We should all aspire to be more like Dracula.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Evil overlords tend to be way more into diversity.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDracula really facilitating that Werewolf/Medusa solidarity.
@ Willkeaton: I'm counting Walter (The Big Bad) and Lisa Tepes in there even though she shows up later in the timeline. It's just emphasizing Iga, or whoever was the writer for those games was, can't fucking think of a different motivating factor than a dead lady that they pulled it out twice for the same character. A very important character.
You know which character I want to see show up in Season 3? Julia. I know Isaac is a completely different character in the show than the games, but it's still interesting to see what kind of dynamic he would have with a little sister.
Bleye knows Sabers. That was something I was kind of wondering about...how got Hector and Isaac feed while they were working for Dracula? I mean, there are apparently pig blood storages or whatever for his other guests, but it didn't look like he employed a cook or that either of them would spend any time on doing grocery runs.
Eh, not really sure the "slaughtering entire villages because a few merchants offended me" is really my calling.
You can't really know that if you never try!
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.He only slaughtered the merchants!
The rest of the town just had to clean up the mess.
Okay fair. But he also killed whoever was trying to protect them.
And we don't even know what those merchants did to offend him. It could have been something minor or merely a perceived slight.
Anyway, is this thing of Dracula being a scientist and philosopher from the games too?
Not really. I mean, he does often have alchemy labs in his castle as a standard dungeon tileset, and he does have a rather famous semi-philosophical conversation with Richter in SotN, but neither have traditionally been a huge part of his character, iirc.
For what it's worth, my feeling when watching his characterization in the show was more "well, I guess that makes sense" rather than "they nailed it!"

Well he was definitely a philosopher as shown in the ending to Rondo of Blood/beginning of Symphony of the Night, even quoting french writer Andre Malraux in the latter's original english dub.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterReally the Merchants shouldnt have prioritized their wealth over their wife and kids. At least them they had a chance of escaping. Even if Dracula would likely hunt down and kill quite a few.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. He's never really had much characterization in the games. Symphony presents him as intelligent, snarky, and familiar with the bible and literature, and he's at least respectful of Alucard - he kind of acts the way a dad who hasn't seen his son in a while does before and after, but beyond that....
He's scary vampire Satan. He's immortal too, so getting into the sciences as a way to pass the time between feeding and shoving sticks up people's ass makes sense.
I’m quoting Honest Trailers here, but Drac’s character has apparently remained mostly undeveloped or nonexistent for most of the franchise’s decades long existence.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The thing about Dracula is that he doesn't have a lot of opportunity for characterization. He's been around for centuries, but usually only for like five minutes at a time. 99% of his character history has been spent waiting to be resurrected after his latest slaying at the hands of a Belmont.
This is Dracula's day plan.
- Holy shit. I'm alive again! This is awesome!
- What was I doing again? Let's see, I was....
- Wait, who's this asshole?
- BLAAARGH

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I mean, when you get killed like five minutes after waking up, then spend the next hundred years being dead, you can't get much done. Drac could be this super deep, super complex guy, but he never gets a chance to display any of it. Or, he could just try to eat pot roast.
I agree that Drac's characterization in the series is more "Yeah, that makes sense." than anything else. The only times he actually says anything is when he's rising from his throne preparing to face down a champion of light. But we do know a lot of stuff about what he did and why, even if we rarely heard the guy himself ruminate.
Maybe one of the games should have you pick up pages from his diary or something.
Bleye knows Sabers.
You had me a demon-fightin' Muay Thai mom. I don't care about anything else. Just given me a two-hour hollywood movie about that.
Edit: Best pagetopper ever.
