Forged for Justice!: A Superhero Academy RP

Okay. Whoops. I didn't mean that she can't use it in battle, she'd be more than willing to do it in emergencies or if anyone else can't do it. It's just that she prefers not to as it's too slow for more serious injuries in the middle of a battle and focuses more of fighting so that more specialized healers can do their job. But it's pretty quick for smaller injuries, like cuts and bruises, to the point that it seems like she has a regenerative property like, say, Wolverine. Add in her armor (which I forgot to mention that I was thinking is pretty light but magically reinforced), she can tank pretty well.

So I'll probably post the first update somewhere around 6:00 AM at the earliest tomorrow- Currently finishing up the opening segment, which is effectively a simple business trip between Authority Breakers & an employee of an organization supplying them.

I'll do at most five more segments detailing some Students/Justice Forgers, with the general idea making their little discussions appealing to a different player character each.

So yeah, assuming double posts are okay, I wanted to say I just started the roleplay. It is pretty exploration & character-driven in nature, so I didn't want to make you guys feel forced to attend the in-universe classes.

Regarding the character ethnicities, anyone who wasn't explicitly pointed out should be assumed to be ethnic melting pots. Though regarding some of the standout examples; Lucas Perkins is a quarter-Albanian, Go Keller is a genetic throwback to ancient Europeans, and Temp is straight-up fifty/fifty (though her mother is a third generation Greek-American). The others have some spoilers tied to their ancestry, like 'Warp' and Hal.

Rebecca Bonnet, since I forgot this part, has dyed purple hair whilst her bunny ears are the same silver as her outfit & hidden limbs. Regarding her fighting style, saying Genos isn't too far off- Least as a starting point for distorted second-hand accounts of her zigzagging Lightning Bruiser abilities.

So just to prevent any further confusion, the 'Sub-Sections' are purely a meta thing- Breaking up the four scenes into distinct segments. Everyone is pretty much in the same area, though the Nexus isn't exactly small either.

On a similar topic, if you want to interact with a certain NPC then just have your character approach them & do what they're wanting to- Things'll move much faster than making the NPC have to initiate the interaction.

Your first post is also perfect for a flashback scene, either general elaboration on a past event and/or a demonstration of them in action. I'll admit, I can't really have an NPC know much about your characters if I don't know said stuff, so there's also that.

okay, so made some major fixes and adjustments to my first post, thoughts? concerns? Suggestions? i'm open to all of them haha.

Okay, first off, I would like to explain why I haven't posted yet. I was planning on posting the day it went out, but our phone died so we had no internet anymore so by the time it was fixed, school had started and I've been even more busy as I had also decided to write my novel (which is about 62+ pages now). Hopefully, I'll post this weekend, if I'm not too busy.

So a main reason for why I haven't posted so far is because I'm waiting for more players to post. I don't want to get Vampire & Guardian too far along everyone else thinks their characters could only be late or sitting around.

However, the delays in response from four/sixths of the player cast is getting ridiculous at this point. I get you guys have stuff to attend to, but like Shoutmon did, you should at least explain why you haven't posted yet.

So if nobody else posts tonight, I'll be updating sometime tomorrow- With Guardian & Vampire's segments already being developed. I'm also considering writing some Fragmentary Passages to help establish some of the Justice Forgers & other important folk- Yet don't want to waste effort on Passages nobody is particularly interested in.

Thus, I'll like to get feedback from any current & (soon-to-be) applying players which of the following Fragmentary Passages they'll like me to focus on:

• Defiler of Death, focusing on the Corpse Digger when they were still active.
• Beginning Justice, which is about the original four Justice Forgers coming together.
• Light Guided Soul, which is the first outing of 'Col' aka Soul Surgeon, with Lucifel supervising.
• Sadism & Disinterest, focusing on the Justice Forgers "Fused Instinct" stopping a handful of Authority Breakers.

im personally interested in more about the justice forgers, if only because we are going to be interacting with them a lot, it'll be good to know a bit more about our teachers and what might be more common knowledge about them.

Anyways, I thought that Gwen would think the Justice Forgers would want to know of Ventus's "origins" as soon as possible, seeing as they'd probably want to keep an eye on her, but I haven't worked out her connections with them so I made her say she hadn't had a chance.

So...Kkut, who do you think Gwen would have been friends with? She probably would've been friends with a teacher who taught her how to use a sword. And maybe she could be on good terms with that 'Col' you mentioned.

And you wouldn't mind if I made that alchemist a recurring character? I was thinking she'd be victim Ventus's curiosity the most (for the fun of it), of course unintentionally on Ventus's part.

As for the Fragmentary Passages, I'm most interested in Light Guided Soul followed by Beginning Justice, as I'm in the same boat as GuardianLost.

Well I'll need to know in more depth what Gwen would of got up to regarding Connections, but she might be familiar with Rebecca Bonnet / Spellblade Cyberhare as they're both relatively new Justice Forgers. I don't mind Ashley The Alchemist being a recurring character, but it'll be helpful to know more.

Since I'll now have to rework Section 1, I won't be able to post today. Still, with this feedback regarding Fragmentary Passages, I'll be working on Light Guided Soul first. You guys are also free to write up Fragmentary Passages of your own when it comes to your characters.

What do you mean by what have gotten up to? Well, either way, I can't say...because I barely know about the Justice Forgers, or at least those she would've likely met. Sure, you mentioned some of them in the SU thread but it uh... I don't know. I guess what I need is to know how some of the Justice Forgers are in personality before I can say who she might be friends with.

As for Ashley... I was thinking she's from a long line of copying shapeshifters (maybe Changeling or whatever this world call them) who have done heroic deeds in the past, but mostly in secret because, well, shapeshifters, if that's okay. It's easy to hide their true identities. But she didn't find out about her heritage as she was orphaned, raised by a orphanage of magicysts. She has always been a compassionate person and decided to go to Adyta to be an official hero and better hone her alchemy skills.

She didn't find out until sometime after she started attended Adyta when that same type of potion that hit Sora in the opening post hit her and she ended up turning into a perfect copy of a Justice Forger as she was wondering when she would be one, one day. Cue the confusion and her doing her best to explain she is not trying to impersonate that Justice Forger or anything malicious.

You know what? I might just do a Fragmentary Passage of that incident, when I have the time. And maybe Gwen's first day as a Justice Forger or something with Sora.

Anyways, right now, she's pretty good at her alchemy and getting good at her shapeshifting and using the powers she gets from them. Her shapeshifting comes in two categories, shapeshifting her appearance and shapeshifting to get powers. The former is less likely to be on the same power level as the one she's copying, especially if she wants to look exactly like the one she imitated it from. The latter changes her appearance to grant her powers but is unlikely to look like the one she is imitating it from (she'd look like a Beast Man, Petting-Zoo People and armored robots, depending on the power, when that happens). She's better at doing the latter than the former. Right now she remembers how to shapeshift into a kangaroo (yes, she did), a kitsune, an antelope and a Saint Bernard in both categories.

That is if more genral shapeshifting's okay with you.

I meant the stuff she did as a student and as a Justice Forger really. Like, if she was a well-behaved and savvy student, or if she helped stop drug dealers. Pretty much, any and all things about her that would of stood out.

Regarding Ashley, so long as she can't mimic magical abilities or Absolutions (perfectly copying biological abilities & partially biology-rooted magic powers is fine), I don't really see a problem. I do like the idea she mistook herself for a Magicyst though.

I don't mind her having more general shapeshifting, but one caveat I ask for is that she can't pull off All Your Powers Combined.

Makes sense. But is fire breathing from dragons and illusionary powers from kitsune count as partially biology-rooted magic powers count? And I keep forgetting what's the difference between of Magicyst and Mages and stuff...

Of course. She'd end up OP. If it helps, her shapeshifting is like Kirby's absorbing powers or Mega Man.

Mages are individuals who command magic, whereas Magicyst is technically anything infused with magical abilities but ultimately refers to those empowered by the Magic Inducing Pulses. The two aren't mutually exclusive, and given magic can do anything with sufficient effort or luck, it is common enough to mistake individuals as Magicyst or vise versa.

Regarding partially biological abilities, I specifically imagined there would be complications due to her being unable to mimic the magical aspects. So depends on the nature of the exact individual she's copying.

So, she either kills & assimilates them, or beats them to (near) death to get new forms? Being serious, I guess that means she has to be physically near and able to sufficiently analyze them?

@Kkutwar: Hmm, okay. I think that's okay. Though I don't see why it would really affect anything...unless being/thinking they're a Magicyst affects how one trains, or something.

Uh, okay, maybe not the best comparison...I mostly meant that in her forms, not in how she acquires them... But yes, she would need to be physically near. She copies them by touching them and holding them for a while (now that I remember, Kevin from Ben 10, specifically his Alien Force incarnation, does it like this except with inanimate materials). If she can't touch them, she has to do it multiple times and analyze them for a while with her sight (like in a fight). Of course, that means it's quicker if the other is willing to be copied. Does that make sense?

@Thrall: Any particular plans for Tina? i could totally have sora/ventus get affected by her powers at some point

Aside from my general thoughts on the greater purpose of the amulet, not a whole lot.

And as for being controlled by her powers, the "strong minds" thing in my signup was an out for a PC being allowed to resist her charming voice if you want. That said if you actually want him to fall under her spell that can happen too. It'd certainly be awkward and scary for her.

@Shoutmon: So she's basically Eunice from Ben 10, or you know Original Series Kevin before losing control of the Omnitrix energy he absorbed. So yeah, makes sense to me.

@General: I recently got Digimon World Next Order, but I'll probably update tomorrow or the day after if nobody else posts. I'll also like to apologize for my slow update rate, given the low player count currently.
