I’d like to see a proper Mv C 4 especially with Ultimate Alliance 3 proving Marvel is willing to put the mutants front and center again, but what would be the ideal time to announce such a thing?

For a hypothetical MvC4? That would be EVO 2019, which is happening this weekend.

[up] yeah Evo is definetly the ideal time for it, I really, can’t see a better stage to announce a new Mv C at. Like, Mv CI desperately trying to grab the MCU audience is part of what made it fail, getting good PR from the start with a good reveal at an event where most of the people who care the most about the Mv C series are probably at least watching, if not present, is probably the perfect place to start marketing an Mv C 4.

Plus like you said with Ultimate Alliance 3 doing well AND finally embracing all of Marvel’s stuff beyond just the MCU and having a very, MVC cast, artstyle (the game’s style reminds me of Mv C 3’s honestly) and combination of elements from different Marvel mediums, there’s really no better time then the present.

I really don’t want to get my hopes up too much because their could be nothing but... I’m cautiously optimistic honestly. ^^

I totally forgot about these Marvel vs. Capcom 4 rumors...tongue

Assuming it's real (knock on wood), I wonder if we'll see it on Switch. Wonder if it means seeing Ultimate MvC 3.

I’m honestly not sure about a switch port, I’d absolutely love one but I do think it could go either way. Capcom have been pretty big supporters of the Switch though, and that really picked up around 2018 so I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if a port of Infinite would have happened had it not failed.

Mv C 3 on there at least would definetly be nice too. ^^

I imagine the same ideal time like Smash Bros did. Anytime.

Not that Evo would be the worst place to announce, but I rather it'd be announce at another event.

Evo would make sense if they were gonna do it since they already missed out on SDCC. Again, this is all hypothetical of course.

Then Street Fighter V's big reveal is that it's getting a season of Marvel characters.

[up] I'll seriously laugh if that's the case.

I wanna see Miles Morales doing Chun-Li's critical art.

Yea, that was still pretty unimaginative

[up][up][up]And they're all costumes for Chun-Li.

That goes without saying.

Some suggestions on where they could go from here and Win Back the Crowd.

I really like the suggestion that they go with visuals akin to Into the Spider-Verse.

I love Max as much as the next guy, but a lot of things he said here was pretty obvious.

The only thing that stood out was the whole "make it like the Spider-Verse".

That would be interesting to say the least.

[up]Looking like ITSV would look awesome if done correctly, but I can only imagine the cost factor.

Of course, getting a budget higher than a DLC is another obvious need.

I’m admittedly torn on the idea of another story mode. On the one hand, they’re becoming ubiquitous even if they aren’t straight up CG movies with the DCAU’s actors. But on the other, Infinite’s story mode was laughably awful IMO. Unless you’re gonna put the effort into it, hire a Marvel or Udon writer, have the budget so its inclusion doesn’t mess up everything else, I think leaving it out is the wisest choice.

[up] Get me Ian Flynn (for Capcom side) and Al Ewing (for Marvel side) and I’ll have zero complaints.

I dont think the story was bad, but the execution was off. The biggest crime being infinite wanted to be Infinity war without like...any established canon. Not showing how all these weirdos got together and plopping us right dab in the middle of their attack on ultron is weird as heck

[up][up]I just want it to be well written or fun, but if they have a story mode, I want certain things: 1. Please use the damn villains because Dormammu, Firebrand and Nemesis get nothing to do while Sigma's overshadowed by Ultron even in his own damn fusion. Make a mook army of Firebrand clones, give Nemesis some crazy attacks he can't do in gameplay, make the villains feel like a threat if we're reusing four and justifiying it on story, especially when Dormammu would not want to sit around and be nothing more than a lapdop.

2. More boss battles, gimme crap like: Necalli w either Venom or Carnage Symbiote Hydro Man being controlled by either Kraken from Power Stone or Red Earth Sinister Shadoloo Gemini Spark+Electro Jedah with Dormammu’s powers Thanos with Satsui Grandmaster Meio+Mysterio Fing Fang Form controlled by Arisen Two headed fusion of Gigantosaurus and Sauron Onslaught Sigma vs Apocalypse for the Age of Reploids joke or Age of Ultron

3. How did the Capcom side get so underulitized in their own story while Marvel characters still faded into the background. Like when Hawkeye was trying to shoot down drones invading Avengers Tower only for Ultron Sigma to waltz in and Hawkeye's gone. Heck, the Mega Man crew didn't get to do much in the final battle and underulitizing Zero was freaking criminal. Then again, whoever decided to bring back Nova still needs an intervention.

4. Make the crossover feel like a crossover, when Injustice 1 feels like a crossover of two universes and even the Batman characters don't completely overshadow in comparison, there's a problem. Also, the dialouge interactions are more barren than half of the stages.

I dont know about more bosses. Fighting games dont typically have more than 1 to begin with. Everything else is spot on tho.

Unless you're Smash bros, but yeah (Brawl had a ton, Smash Run had like 6 bosses, and Ultimate has like 7). I think in Infinite if they had the time, they could've given Meio a model and the Symbiote monster a model to fight, since I heard the Monster Hunter monster is hard to scale.

Hell if they postponed the game until January, they could've connected Venom with the Symbiote monster.

Oh yeah, the 61 character confirmation. I'm thinking that 61th character would've been Ultron Sigma themselves because of the crossover stuff.

It would've been a Ryu/Captain America fusion.

Besides the DC/Marvel Amalgam comics, I would love to see similar fusions for Marvel vs Capcom. Things like Blade x Dante and Gamora x Cammy.

Felicia/Squirrel Girl Asura and Hulk Black Widow and Chun Li

Also more team up specials like the Double Unyielding Justice

[up]I would not be adverse to a proper tie-in comic...as long as it had Udon writers handling it. Felt like Capcom was overshadowed enough in Infinite. So I would want the people handing Capcom comics to write it so it doesn’t get overshadowed if that makes sense.

Marvel would never OK that. It would be a licensing nightmare even if half the roster weren't from Marvel comics already. Best you could hope for is writers from Udon being brought in to co-author or advise.
