Yet another Hilda bump:
Hilda and the Stone Forest is getting an Eisner award nomination for Best Publication for Kids!
More reason to look up the books, am I right?
There was also a Hilda comic given out for Free Comic Book day this year.

Ah yes, that too.
No idea what goes down there, but it clearly involves the ramifications of what happened in her last book...which I won't discuss out of respect for everyone who has yet to read it.
(Especially since I can't find it myself...)
Ugh, have you ever suffered impatience over waiting for updates on a upcoming show?
I swear, I keep googling "hilda luke pearson netflix" almost every day, thinking there'll be something new regarding the upcoming Netflix show, but I get squat.
I swear, this is me waiting for updates◊ on the Hilda show at this point.

My nephew got the free comic book day issue.
He's four so he wouldn't worry about the story he's just going to look at the pictures. He never even heard of it. He just picked comics based on the covers.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureAh, well great for him!
It really does feel like I'm the only one actively promoting this series.
Actually, this might be an odd idea, but I don't suppose maybe and could help spread the word about this series any way you can?
It'd help put me at ease if I knew other people were at least as aware about this as I am.

Hilda and the Stone Forest is getting nominated for 2017 the Dwayne McDuffie award for Kids' Comics!
The winner will be announced on June 17th.
In other news, I've poked my head into the dragon's lair one too many times and I got a response as to why we haven't been getting any updates about the Netflix show.
Bumping...again.
Considering it's San Diego Comic Con season and with it brings epic reveals and the like, you may be thinking "Hm, are we going to see something resembling a sneak peek for the Netflix cartoon that crazy Troper keeps babbling about even though it isn't coming until next year?"
Well, you'd be wrong because it's still too early for sneak peeks.
As for the animation test Cartoon Brew had that then got removed, it's too early to see that either.
...Sigh, time truly is a harsh mistress.
I will fully admit, the literal millisecond I saw the page image on TV Tropes, my reaction was basically:
"...Yes. Please let this be good. Something this precious does not deserve to be bad. Don't fuck this up."
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"When it comes to updates regarding the Hilda series, Mum's the word.
(It's a character turnaround for Hilda's mom, or "mum" as it were. Get it? )
Bump.
(It's a character turnaround art for the Wood Man, one of Hilda's supernatural friends.)

Triple bump.
In the spirit of Halloween, the show's official Twitter held a poll on what monster creature we'd want to see featured.
The choices were:
- Troll (a rock monster that's active at night)
- Woff (a fluffy thingy that can fly)
- Forest Giant (a furry giant with antlers)
- Water Spirit (self-explanatory)
Thing is, the poll had the Forest Giant and Water Spirit being really close to tying, so they decided to split the difference and show us both of them.
Hey, anyone got a Twitter and silently following this show's development?
Partake in another poll to see a design for another one of Hilda's friends!
Though you have a day to do so as of this typing, then they'll Tweet the design for the winning character this Friday.

All these updates, and only Joe notices them. Well, I'll still support this series when it comes out.
"We be we baby!"Yeah, it's still kind of sucky that the majority of posts on this thread are coming from me and not someone else...but I'm getting used to it.
Despite the acclaim it's been getting, the Hilda series of graphic novels is awfully niche. So niche, I can't find anything but the first 2 books in my university's library, so I guess it just goes to show that no one else but me is keeping tabs on any updates and sharing them via this thread.
Though to be fair, maybe the only reason I know about these updates as soon as they happen is because I've set on my Twitter so that I get a heads-up when something new is up.
That said, I still believe that once the Netflix series gets a trailer, buzz will go up, and when the series actually shows up next year, the books will get a full-on Colbert Bump.
Yeah, a lot of these updates are informative and nice, but I think something big like a trailer or a cast announcement might bring more buzz.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Speaking of updates, I stumbled onto these last night!
- It's nothing official, but a story artist named Dermot Walshe posted some storyboard panels for the show on his website. So what we have here is the closest we'll be getting to having an idea of what the show is going to cover.
- An animation designer for the series posted his take on Hilda, Twig, Frida, and who I assume is David on his tumblr.
EDIT: Whoops! I spoke too soon, about any lack of official updates because there is an official update right now!
- Mercury Filmworks has seen the most recently produced episode of Hilda and they're very proud of how it turned out.
- Addendum: does anyone know what emoji they're using in the tweet? It comes off as a generic "?" block on my smartphone.
- Ignore the addendum, turns out it's a "mind blown" emoji.
- Suffice to say, I am at the edge of my seat at this point.

Update Bump.
- The link to those storyboards lead to a dead end. Fortunately, I was smart enough to tweet about them.
- Another poll! What other friend of Hilda's do you want to see next? You've got 3 days to decide!
- Full disclosure: The Raven is taking the lead as of 11/27/2017 at 10:25 AM.
Update double bump:
Meet another one of Hilda's friends: the Raven!
(No relationship to Raven of the Teen Titans or Raven-Symoné...)

Dude, I love you and all, but you cant double bump like that...LET ME HELP YOU!
This looks REALLY cute. I cant wait.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. You want to help? By all means, be my guest!
If you're up for it, you can post about the next poll they'll probably do next week or whatever they have that isn't a Hilda-related retweet.
I'm counting on your help, fwend.
In case you're wondering why I used "fwend."

Yay!
Anyway, I dont have much to comment but I will post when you do to help you keep the thread alive.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Once again, 3 days to make your choice!
A while back, another someone from Mercury Filmworks did a Hilda-related thing.
So, if anyone happens to be in Ottawa, Canada and can animate professionally, here's an opportunity for you!
(I don't want this show or this thread to fade into obscurity...)
