Oh sorry, you're still in the game Vampire? I thought you quit.

Come to think of it I need to do another Event List to get back everyone up to date. Will soon be up.

As I recall Papyrus had been going to attack the Malak/Cyrus+Winter/Chancellor meet-up.

Yeah but who knows what happened with that tongue OTOH he was also going to be intercepted by a) Jeanne Du Ciel and b) The Bookkeeper, both characters of mine, so we can pick it from there instead if that's OK.

Sorry I haven't posted for the Ignis fight. I'll post at some point. I've been busy with school stuff today, is all.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

It's fine, kids, F-I-N-E! Really! [lol] RL *must* always come first! Just don't disappear without a warning first, OK? Just say "sorry I'll be busy in the near future" that will be enough.

I am going to start by having him meet Jeanne, who, as an angel, will probably trigger the demon inside him (but she won't fight unless he attacks first.) Meanwhile, the Bookkeper will be waiting for a chance to act. So yeah, wait for my post later today.

Crap baskets sad So um, yeah!? Life's been...hectic. Not quite sure I can keep up, especially since I haven't been able to; poor Xy and JJ are missing out, however, and it's finally getting to me. I'll yank Xy out of her stupor and back into the game...JJ seems more of a fit for Facility Kappa, but I haven't looked into it yet :(

I promise, if RL kicks my ass, I'll pass you the word, Sijo :D

Just went back to my old sign-up posts, tidied the formatting up a little. I'm such a perfectionist. [lol]

Thanks to Cwest and me swapping ideas, I've regained interest in the Parasites, but I'm still feeling detached from Rine's character. Maybe as I continue to play as Kol I'll get into it again.

Also, I'm showing an interest in having the remaining members of the DG join TALOS.

While Val'ark is there.

No, he wouldn't know about it.

He gonna be angry.

Its in the first post of the Signup Thread. I suggest you become familiar with it- it covers a lot of the world-building done for the game.

And it was Ok to kill the Capsule Monsters, they were just minions I sent your way to have fun with. The question is: who sent them, and why? wink

I don't know what I'm doing

Bleak Ones

Bleak Gods
The Bleak Gods are deathless nightmares of The Abomination that have taken a sort of unlife of their own. As their parent's eternal torment is bound with the universe, theirs is bounden to this galaxy and so they wish to see its utter extinction. The forces of the galaxy have fought back against them, resisting their schemes and launching attacks upon their star-planets. Their homes intermittently phase in and out of reality around the super massive blackhole at the galactic center.

The Mouth Of Mercurial Rivers, also called The Father Of Lies, seeded political corruption throughout the galactic powers. Its agents would later reveal the corruptions when they were too late to reverse with anything short of revolution, collapsing whole governments. An ancient hero revealed to it a great truth and The Mouth Of Mercurial Rivers was freed from it torment to peacefully suicide.

The Extinction Of Causality, does not exist. It never existed, it never will exist. The Editors made damn well sure of that.

The Weeping Of Stars, Crawls In Dark Places, A Thousand Hands Grasping Nothing, Eternal Screams In The Void, The Mad Revealer, Eyes Filled With Revelations, Devourer Of The Horizon and more are still active, plotting in their owns ways the end of the galaxy.

Although having "god-like" powers, the Bleak Gods are normally the uselessly gibbering kind of insane. They have some rare lucid moments, and those are very bad for everyone. Billions of years ago, they had a simultaneous wake up call and managed to snuff out a quintillion lives. Usually they have to communicate through servants and intermediaries via maddening whispers. Their servants, The Grim Lords, and their servants' servants, The Dread Knights, work to further this agenda.

Those Guys
The Grim Lords are the zombie-ghosts of the mad ressurected by The Bleak Gods as slightly more focused, sane and corporeal servant to wreak their agenda upon the world. Even this isn't enough, so the Dread Knights are taken from the ranks of the insanely desperate and saved from the very brink of death by the Grim Lords in exchange for promises of servitude.

The Grim Lords are made to forget their names upon ressurection and anything that would remind them of their past tends to cause them pain. Dread Knights ritualistically sacrifice their name to seal the pact with their feudal lord. Both parties take up barogue sobriquets in deference to their ultimate masters. Now, they and anyone who digs deep enough will make the connection between all of them and The Abomination. However, the dead titan cares little about them and visa versa for the most part, except academically and some individual cases.

A Grim Lord is more firmly under the thumb of their patron Bleak God. Some of them drag their feet while pursuing their own agenda, but outright rebellion, as well as failure, can and will be punished instantaneously. The Dread Knights are a different story, as the Grim Lords are less omniscient than their masters and its possible for a Dread Knight to steal the phylactery inside which their death is stored to presumably dick off for whatever reason.

A Dread Knight has the attention of their Grim Lord's Bleak God. If a Bleak God really likes the cut of a Dread Knight's gib when and if the Knight gets killed, presumably because they are insane, dedicated and/or insanely dedicated to the cause of murdering everything, the Bleak God may choose to ressurect them in particular to the rank of Grim Lord.

Rumor has it it's also possible for a Grim Lord to ascend to become a Bleak God. The story goes that their ascencion "rots" backwards in time, rewritting history so that they were always one of the spawned nightmares of The Abomination. So, presumably, if any of the Grim Lords have managed it, no one would know about it.

Grim Lords

The Meat Grinder was once a great threat to the galaxy. He had gathered up the mad and the damned, Straw Nihilistic people that thought nothing of burning the galaxy to ash, to set about to do exactly that. Unfortunately for him, that's not a long term strategy, his armies caused a lot of damage but were destroyed. The Meat Grinder can still be a global threat to whatever one planet he makes his way too.

Most Frozen Admiral Of The Deep Void Fleet has slowly plied her way among the stars, conquering world after world. She consolidates her victories, subjecting conquered worlds to an eternal winter via terraforming and bioengineering the conquered to just barely survive. Those who die rise up again as the undead elite of the world and the planets' industries fuel the Admiral's fleets continued conquest. An alliance brokered by the Galactic Commune ground her advancement to a halt and choke a cease-fire out of her, but she waits within her captured territory still, consolidating and building her forces once more.

Who Would Spear The Stars Once a Grim Lord serving under The Mouth Of The Mercurial River, he is now at a loose ends with his master gone. He somehow retained his power through unknown means. At his master's behest, he used seduction and hedonism to spread secret corruption in the highest ranks. Now free, he sees no need for secrecy and seeks to spread mind-numbing, body-destroying hedonism far and wide. He is often opposed by kinds of tantric spiritualists who see his methods as a dark corruption of their own.

The Last One Standing At The Edge Of The Abyss, Seeker Of Twelve Sufferings, Rage Against The End Of Day, Walker Upon The Path Of Madness, The Blashphemous Messiah

Dread Knights

Trods On Benighted Roads Unrevealed An incredibly unlucky man who kept walking the untrodden path and found himself running back the other way as he courted death. What little was left of his luck ran out, and he was nearly killed. He was only spared by a distant Grim Lord, Walker Upon The Path Of Madness, taking an interest in him and capturing his death. Under threat of having it released, he was empowered and made to work for the Grim Lord. However, his strange luck and wayfinding led him to steal his phylactery and flee. His last known quotation hinted that he found some hidden backwater world that no one would dare look for if they could even find it.

The Hand Behind The Fallen Axe A Dread Knight with a sordid history, the calm right-axe man of The Meat Grinder. Calm was relative, as The Hand is an axe crazy lunatic with a modicum of self-awareness and control. She charged into her second death until The Most Frozen Admiral captured it and bartered The Meat Grinder for The Hand's servitude as a trained thug. As a favor to Walker, The Hand has been send after Trods with the intent of decapitating him.

Spinster With Poisoned Needles, Walks With Massacres, The Price Of Death, Angel Of Miraculous Deceptions, Cleric To Petty Heresies, Calamity At A Button's Press, Where None Dare To See.

See, nothing wrong with these, in fact they sound quite epic (congrats on the names- you could name your own band! [lol]) but they are kind of redundant with the Titans and other eldritch beings we already have. Besides given their power level, they would only serve as background flavor anyway.

Maybe the Dread Knights and a Grim Lord BBEG at most, but the Bleak Gods are as relevant as the titans I suppose.

Multiverse And Stories

It's weird talking to one of the scribe, especially when you talk to them about fiction. All three of them will talk about stories as if they are stories and as if they are things that actually happened, that they witnessed. Scrawl and Scroll especially will talk about what essentially sounds like fanfiction, alternate scenarios and what-ifs of stories, except the part where they actually went in there and truly made those things happen to really-not-fictional people.

Those two will not offer any kind of explanation for the state of fictional universes across the multiverse. You'll have to sit Scribble down and it'll be happy to clarify things for you. It proposes a "chicken and egg" conundrum. From one perspective, entire universes are retroactively made to exist somewhere in the multiverse whenever someone else in another universe thinks it up for their story. Another is that a universe exists and that existance resonates across the universe. What is mistaken for creativity is actually a transdimensional sensitivity.

Scribble will explain that these explanations are both truths of a far more complex answer that it frankly lacks the capacity to explain. Possibly, we lack the capacity to understand and it is being polite. The answer in particular cases, it explains, may trend more one way or another, with some universes being more made-up things then they are inspirations, but somehow never quite all one or another. That is, when the multiverse isn't trending towards an even more incomprehensible answer.

In my opinion, three kinds of realities exist: First, Actual realities; these are your classic "Parallel Universes." Despite similarities, they are separate from each other; destroying one, for example, will not affect the rest. (the question is: why are they so similar then? My guess is, they are the product of cosmic beings toying with reality. Like the Scribes.)

Alternate Realities are just possibilities: either futures yet to happen, or pasts that never happened. AR originate from a main reality and slowly "fade away" over time.

Finally, False Realities are not real universes at all, but simulations- Dreamworlds, Virtual Realities etc. They might look very real, even have sentient beings, but ultimately they are not, and can wink out in an instant.

[up]Huh, that's pretty scary actually, the idea that a world could just wink out of existence like that.

I was going for, "It's all true! How? I dunno."

Sijo from Puerto Rico Since: Jan, 2001

Yes, its pretty scary. The most famous example is of course The Matrix, but recently Agents of Shield did a great "Trapped in a virtual world" plot with their "Agents of Hydra" arc too.

And I'm open to having all three kinds exist in Spandex.

Oh yeah, I mean, well, there's that. I'm thinking along well...

Dresden Files, there is a transdimensional plane, normally just used for fast travel by wizards, called the Nevernever. A very knowledgeable entity tells Dresden that he could, theoretically, visit a fictional universe if he went deep enough into the Nevernever. "The unimultiverse is big enough for Spider-Man to exists somewhere."

That's the idea: along with just alternate timelines, theoretically anything exists out in the wide omniverse.
