Yeah hearty ingredients are really powerful the more hearts you have. I LOVE having food items still useful at high levels.

My Dragonborn quickly turned to a potions only diet after arriving in Skyrim

That's why they're still useful.

Regarding Hearty Bass lured by truffles, any river as I understand it.

As for the suggestion of Hearty Durians, they aren't used to upgrade armor, Hearty Bass are (five for each part of the Zora armor set L3 upgrade).

(Cooking up five HDs will, though, give you 20 extra hearts, which is rather useful earlier in the game.)

[edit] You're more likely to find Hearty Bass at the base of waterfalls, BTW, with around the bases of the megatrees holding up Florian Bridge in the Faron region another place to find them.

Phew. So managed to not only get that last Lynel gut to upgrade the Radiant suit, but also took care of another shrine (bringing me up to 107), and got a clue for one shrine quest I missed.

More to the point, I've noticed that the defence boost when using the maxed out Champion Tunic, Amber Earrings and Hylian Parts is incredible. Despite fighting a Silver Lynel, the dude was barely putting any dents in me at all.

So while it still takes a while to kill them, at the least I don't have to go too crazy with defence boosting foods, unless I'm in an area where I have to use other sets (for staying warm or staying cool or not catching on fire) and I can compensate for that with foods.

That's pretty sweet actually.

Then again, maybe it was the Lynel I was fighting that was different. I've fought Sword, Spear and Club Lynels and the latter one was absolutely wrecking me. I'm not good at their patterns yet.

What a time to read a line like that.

That's excellent.

But...yeah, their spears are weak AS, so are the swords.

That explains it.

Though even the club Lynel didn't too much damage to me until I was forced to swap out the Amber Earrings for the Lightning Helm when a thunderstorm started mid fight.

Still, they are bitches of the highest calibre.

Question: Are swords, spears, and clubs the only melee weapons that Lynels can use? I would imagine that axe-wielding Lynels would be the stuff of nightmares...

Good to know. I have the feeling that if Lynels did actually wield axes in Breath of the Wild, they would be absolutely devastating in melee combat (even the Red ones would be enemies to be wary of).

[up][up] I'm imagining almost as much hitting power as club Lynels, with faster swings.

To walk back the topics for a moment, I haven't upgraded my Soldier Set beyond 2 stars (I think, one piece may have 3; it's been a while since I've played) because the Ancient Armor and Diamond Circlet both have the same defense progression, plus Guardian defense. So my usual defense-focused loadout is Ancient Greaves, Hero's Tunic, and Diamond Circlet (since the Ancient Helmet is silly looking), switching to the complete Ancient Armor set if there's a Guardian and my Master Sword is recharging, to get the Ancient Weapon set bonus.

So you can break your weapons twice as quickly!

Or just for the ridiculousness of seeing two weapons break at once... These two ideas would be neat: have Blacksmiths who can repair your weapons for a modest fee (they could charge more for if the weapon you want to repair is on the verge of breaking), and the weapons used by monsters can break as well (which means that Bokoblins, Moblins, Lizalfos, and other enemies would be subject to the same weapon fragility system that Link has to deal with).

Alright then. By the way, do the two ideas I mentioned seem good (Blacksmiths who can repair your weapons for a fee and enemies having to deal with weapon fragility as well as the player)?

Enemies won't last long enough for their weapons to break...

Unless, they use the weak stuff, it wouldn't make a difference.

Please don't make enemies suffer weapon fragility. That would make the system more annoying, not less, because the weapons Link manages to scavenge would be of much lower quality. Unless you give the player the ability to repair weapons using some sort of resource; perhaps the blacksmiths don't need to be given resources but can repair items in exchange for rupees.

Good points. Now that I think about it, the game engine for Breath of the Wild along with the weapons being able to break could find use for a Goblin Slayer Licensed Game with Link being replaced with the titular Goblin Slayer and generic goblins replacing Bokoblins.
