You also Fight a burly man with an axe, like in Dark Souls III, who then gets turned into a huge demon with a greataxe, which is similar to both Gundyr's mutation, and the Asylum Demon from Dark Souls I.
This one might be a coincidence, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional, especially after all the Undead Asylum allusions prior.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Loving the full game so far, myself.
Watch SymphogearSo the game got into some controversy. A lot of people were hoping to Coop through the whole game with friends through the Tori gate and you can't. One of the two plays needs to have beaten the level in order to coop. Of course this being the internet, people are saying the game is ruined forever and are trying to get into contact with Koei to try and change that design decisions. Considering how much Team Ninja listened during the alpha and beta and if enough Noise is made they just might,
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2The first mission is definitely much easier in the final game then it is in the alpha or beta, but the optional mission you get for level 10 is already incredibly brutal. It's amazing.
Watch SymphogearYeah, I knew that the first mission was just the alpha demo!
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.While I don't own this game (since I don't have a PS4), I really hope that they release an artbook sometime in the future, because the youkai designs are awesome.
You know, I Iiked how they handled Nobunaga. He wasn't the ultimate evil this time around. He just appeared, had fun and was pretty chill. In a way, he knew he had already won.

Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleI love how casually he just tells Edward Kelley to go eat a dick and wipes his smug smile off his face for the first time in the entire game.

Man, the second map portion is a Difficulty Spike If i've ever seen one.
Watch SymphogearDoesn't the second map have the Water Level?
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Yes. And fuck the Umi Bozu boss. At least Muneshige was a human encounter....
Watch SymphogearDid you figure out that Fire kills that boss? And that lighting the 3 fires makes the fight SOO much easier?
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Yes. Still hard as balls because of the bottomless pits that you can somehow fall into. That stage has some of the worst bottomless pits I've seen in a souls like game, honestly.

Watch SymphogearNothing is worse than the great soul boss of the Iron Keep in DS 2, Lava Pit

Surely you mean the Anor Londo archers?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I was fine with anor londo archers, honestly.
The worst thing about the area I'm talking about is that the bottomless pits are on ground level with your character, and having small cracks in their ledges that are still big enough for you to fall in.
Watch SymphogearThank goodness you can't fall of ledges by attacking.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Just fought Nekomata.
Watch SymphogearSo this game looks like a lot of fun, it's gotten a huge amount of critical acclaim, and it's been a while since I've jumped back into a KT game. However, I've never tried any of the demos, and I've never played Dark Souls or anything of the sort.
How badly will Nioh make me its bitch?
I've been interested in the game since around the time the alpha got unveiled. I've heard mixed things about Team Ninja's previous games, but this looks right up my alley and it's gotten a warm reception so that eases my doubts. This, along with Bloodborne, Death Stranding and maybe the FFVII remake will be what seals me getting the PS 4.
...eventually.
If you are used to the Dark Souls style it starts off easy, but gets VERY difficult very quickly.
If not, well, think of it as Dark Souls meets the modern Ninja Gaiden games. That level of difficult.
Watch SymphogearIt's more Bloodborne like in playstyle than Dark Souls. Here it's all about fast movement, use of multiple tools against a large number of small, easily-dispatched enemies or one fairly strong enemy, and dodging.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Not to mention, the humanoid enemies all operate under the same rules as you; like NPCs in Soulsborne, but with added stamina.

Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. The demons don't, for obvious reasons, but you can get around this by whittling down their stamina fast enough.
For bigger demons, the fast stance is best because they tend to attack rather slowly.

Watch Symphogear
The opening is an almost shot for shot recreation of the opening of Dark Souls I. Its kind of amazing and a cool homage. Its like Team Ninja saying, "Yeah we know and we respect our inspirations."
