I'll give an idea of how to solve the name pages there in the Discussion topic.

... I'm looking at the Drinking Game subpages AND the ones we had for Trope Pantheons so far. What is the difference... and how is it that such subpage of JFF is fine while in the Trope Pantheons, it instead causes problem. All I know is that those Drinking Page subpages have little linking. I'll try to get back to it later, though hints from the mods are welcome.

Eh, good point about the Drinking Game subpages. Frankly, those haven't attracted enough attention to require a mod ruling. And they are mostly harmless anyway. The issue with the Pantheons is their tendency to creep into the wiki proper, with people linking to Pantheon articles in Characters pages and the like. It shares this problem with the Self-Demonstrating pages.

We want to avoid giving the impression that any of these projects are official works of the wiki, as opposed to fun stuff that our tropers do on their own.

As for how the project is advertised, again, that's not the purpose of the wiki. We do not provide free marketing for fanworks, except in as much as they would be documented as any other work.

[up] We can remove any linking to the pantheon if it's mention In official works and what not. Like saying this person is the god of this trope and remove it.

We will avoid mentioning the pantheon in the main work pages.

That said, are we allowed to keep the pantheon pages of certain works?

Well, as long as they don't show up in the subpages headers at the top of an article, I won't be too upset about it.

I still think that's what subpages are for, headers or no. Just like DrinkingGame/, FanficRecs/, Memes/, and Haiku/.

I'm not sure what "official projects of the wiki" means when it's entirely a volunteer-built site in the first place.

According to What Goes Where on the Wiki, there is—or was at one point—a "Just for Fun" banner to distinguish JFF pages from actual trope pages, just as YMMV and Trivia have. We can revive it to provide all the clarification anyone would want about the purpose of these pages.

[up]And Fan Works/. In certain Crowning Moments of, there are links to Fan works. Are they still ok to have?

[down] It's more like links to Non official pages that have fan works. Like Steven Universe Non Canon.

There should absolutely not be any examples from fanworks in Moments pages for primary works.

[up] Now that makes perfect sense. The FanWorks/ namespace is a bit different because it's meant entirely as an index of fan works related to a primary work, not a JFF page. Each fan work itself can get its own work page and have its Moments subpages there.

About the removal of Pantheon links in main wiki pages, I'd like to ask. There are two kinds of sentences here:

  • The sentence that says "This character is the God of the Trope in the Trope Pantheons"
  • The sentence that says "In Trope Pantheons, this kind of trope exists." (e.g: Divine Ranks)

The first one, I know that has got to go. But the second one...? I'm kinda confused, delete that one too?

The latter is legitimate because it is a use of the trope in a work, that work being our TV Tropes Pantheons project.

So...what was the final verdict? Can we keep our pantheon pages?

If so then i will restore some pages that were deleted in a moment

I think we've settled on keeping the Pantheon subpages for works, yes. Go ahead and restore any deleted ones.

If we are restoring Pantheon tabs, I want to restore the one for Pokémon and would be glad to help. I want to ask if there was any other reason it was cut (namespace?) so I avoid adding it back if there is a problem.

For those wanting to restore, here is a place to find deities to add back.

Also, given that one the the reasons to keep Pantheon tabs is navigation, I think it worth it to have a master index (alphabetized) for ALL deities and such within the Pantheon. The current thing used to keep track of such is outdated and unmaintained, so having it as an editable page (like this) would be very convenient for everyone. My one concern is that such a page would be so HUGE as to require subpages and be too redundant with the Pantheon tabs to be worth it.

Any thoughts?
