I've finished my application
THE FITNESSGRAM PACER TEST IS A MULTISTAGE AEROBIC CAPACITY TEST THAT PROGRESSIVELY GETS MORE DIFFICULT AS IT CONTINUES...I never did this before, but today I imagined Godsgift speaking in John Oliver's voice and now I can't stop
If I ever write Godsgift into anything that gets published and then adapted into a movie, I demand that John Oliver voice the character of Godsgift.
Edit: ...And on that note, Whistler is voiced by Adam Scott, an alum of Parks and Recreation; and Sy is played by Finn Cole of Peaky Blinders.

Lol.
Also, came here to let everyone know, we shall have liftoff in...X amount of posts. Which is to say, rather soon.

Just a heads up, I'm leaving for California tomorrow, and I'll be gone for a week.
THE FITNESSGRAM PACER TEST IS A MULTISTAGE AEROBIC CAPACITY TEST THAT PROGRESSIVELY GETS MORE DIFFICULT AS IT CONTINUESPosting this here because I'm not 100% sure how to work it into a post.
Whistler's ability to produce nearly any sound, combined with his computer-collar inside of which Godsgift is stored, makes it possible for him to do the following super neat things:
- He can have a silent conversation with Godsgift using high-frequency soundwaves.
- Because Whistler's "thoughts" are facilitated by high-frequency soundwaves between packmembers, eventually, Godsgift is going to learn how to read Whistler's mind by listening in on those soundwaves.
- Similarly to how he communicates with Godsgift, Whistler has configured the collar so that he can send communications without making any audible noise (i.e., he can speak through the collar like a radio, without anybody near him hearing it).
Also, unrelated, but since it came up I figured it'd be a good idea to post here: I do most of my troping on weekdays, hence, that's when I'm most active here. My posting frequency will drop to zero or very nearly zero on weekends. I apologize in advance if that inconveniences anyone.

Thanks for the head's up, Solly. Posting when you're able and in the mood to is fine. And thanks for the Whistler information, it's really interesting. I've really been enjoying your posts.
"I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind."He's a lot of fun to write. But Godsgift is totally more fun to write because I have a sick sense of humor.
I'll be the first to argue that Laughing at Your Own Jokes is tacky, but I just about lost it when I wrote the "Beep boop beep" line.
lol. Godsgift has made me laugh out loud several times.
"I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind."Brace for a completely ridiculous entrance to the bridge, then.
In a more serious work, I wouldn't be surprised if my whole team got thrown off the ship for that entrance.

"I'm as free as the dust in the solar wind."
It shouldn't affect much, but I've gone back and adjusted Sy's age to allow him to have more of a backstory. Due to his Longevity Treatments, I realized it didn't really matter how old he was, he can still look like he's in his twenties as long as he's no older than, say, a hundred.
So Sy is now 51 rather than 24 or 26 or whatever I originally said, but he still looks like he's in his mid-twenties.
And since his age hasn't come up in the RP yet, it shouldn't affect anything that has happened so far. But on the off chance that anyone read it, it has changed.
A minor update for anyone who's interested:
I've privately expanded Sy's backstory to include a full explanation of his past with Andris, the person he dreams about when he takes his memory drug. At the moment, I have no intention to introduce Andris as an active character, but the character's history with Sy will affect his behavior and potentially some other stuff.
So, uh. There's some meat there if anyone wants to dig into it. This might be uncovered by pressing Sy for details, but Godsgift also has a potential route to uncovering this information. Whistler isn't aware of any details so he won't be much help.
I noticed my original idea for Snake was waaay to close to Godsgift, so I thought of the most ridiculous idea I could come up with. Then I started thinking of MLG montage parodies. Then, my final idea came into fruition, a glitchy experimental AI with 2 personalities, the helpful dominant one, voiced by Daniel UK, and the vulgar meme-spouter known as "Hyde", voiced by Microsoft Sam.

THE FITNESSGRAM PACER TEST IS A MULTISTAGE AEROBIC CAPACITY TEST THAT PROGRESSIVELY GETS MORE DIFFICULT AS IT CONTINUESNow that I know the voices, reading his dialogue is so much more entertaining.
Making casting decisions for characters is so much fun.
Does Kord wear any kind of amror or something along the lines that would prevent an examination currently?
"One may feel fear in the face of danger so long as one banishes fear when danger actually arrives"Would it be appropriate to have the Kallior visit the Troperia at some point in the future? If so, when? I have some plans for them.

THE FITNESSGRAM PACER TEST IS A MULTISTAGE AEROBIC CAPACITY TEST THAT PROGRESSIVELY GETS MORE DIFFICULT AS IT CONTINUESSo I wrote this, mostly thinking of Sy's near-panic when he realized that Godsgift had been hacked. So in the spirit of Godsgift's chosen moniker for the Prime, I called it "Interloper". The link is a .wav file of the computer (Staffpad, if you're familiar with it) playing it, so it won't sound as good as a human, but I still really like it.
So, you know, enjoy. Or not, if it's terrible.
Sure.
Incoming major reveal.
Just out of curiosity, did anyone take a listen to that song?

Just a little bit of information, Ghost Elm is currently in the process of moving and experiencing internet issues, so his presence here might be sporadic or nonexistent for the next few days. He's asked that players proceed without him for now, if it is at all possible. Thank you.

Greg (Baron Green) won't have internet access for a few days, so he won't be present here starting Wednesday. Please proceed without him then, if it's possible. He'll most likely return on Friday. Thank you.

Irrelevant update: I added my characters to the Characters page and an entry to the Roleplay page. I'll probably add a few more tropes over time.
Second irrelevant update: So I've been a little inconsistent with formatting, but I'm going to start italicizing Godsgift when I'm referring specifically to the ship, and not italicizing it when I'm referring to the AI character. Godsgift is a ship, Godsgift is a character.
