AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
IT LOOKS SO GOOD. And did they actually get Tom Kenny back as Spyro? I think they did!
Hoo boy, that looks really good. Now I'm just left hoping this comes out for PC and Switch, too.
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."And preordered. Spyro was my childhood. I can’t not support this.
Did anyone else notice how there's now a door on the temple in the first homeworld? I wonder if it's actually gonna do something or is just a stage element...
The Crash remakes used the old save terminals as a way to switch between Crash and Coco. Maybe it's something similar to that? Or maybe a way to switch games without quitting to the main menu? Or maybe it's just window dressing and I'm overanalyzing it. It always did feel like there should have been something on that huge empty wall.

I was thinking it might be another case of 'switch to a bonus character added in the remake' but tbh, there's only one dragon that immediately springs to mind and she's not exactly popular with the classic crowd...
I wonder what the remakes will change about the originals.
...please make the trolley orb easier.
The Protomen enhanced my life.CrystalFissure's gonna freak...
It looks a bit shiny? I wasn't expecting it to be so bright. I guess I was expecting Hero's Tail-like darkness.
Is Spyro voiced by Kenny? I hope this gets a Japan release. I find the butcherization of Spyro over there to be such a missed opportunity. Japan got Crash but not Spyro past the second game.
Edit: It is Tom. He sounds off, but oh well.

The remakes briefly appeared on the Nintendo UK Store before being pulled.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."My general reaction to the remake reveal was "This is fine, I guess". As in, not bad per se, but not getting me excited, either.
I guess most of it can be boiled down to just how something is off about the Spyro model (I'm guessing something about the eyebrows, and how he has vibrant purple eyes when they were black before), and how the Sparx model is all kinds of terrible.
Honestly, the thing that managed to excite me more was the playable demo of this upcoming indie game that's inspired by Spyro: https://ohirakyou.itch.io/nytro
Imagine if that added door on the Artisans castle takes you to a room with two other portals, each with the golden letters above them labeling them "Ripto's Rage" and "Year of the Dragon." That'd be a billion times cooler than the N. Sane Trilogy's plain old menu screen.
I've got Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash, Spyro, and Paper Mario fanfics.I think his eyes are fine! But I DEFINITELY noticed a subtle, yet distinct change about Spyro from the trailer—he has thumbs now! He's never had thumbs before. The anatomy of his forelimbs changed overall too! Funny enough, Insomniac left Spyro partially because they felt like he was limited without hands.
I wonder if his model having thumbs now is for more diversity in the future, or he's only like that to match up better with the refurbished dragon elders? (The adult dragon models of Spyro 1 in the instruction booklet never had thumbs either, if anyone is curious.)

Welp, I'm going to enjoy this. The only thing I didn't get in the original trilogy were 2 skill points in 2.
I wonder if we are going to see perennial superflame and skill points in all three games, just like we got relics and Coco in all three Crash games.
Also, I feel like they should reconsider their choice in skyboxes. The surreal skies that changed in every level was a great part of the charm of the original.
I didn't notice. I hope they're lizard-esque instead of hand-like.
Guess what showed up, y'all?
I hope this causes a retool of the classic series with Bianca as an actual character. It hurts hearing her voice in Enter the Dragonfly and seeing how they screwed with her character.
... Oh, and I guess Elora appearing more would be nice.
Everything about Enter the Dragonfly hurts, TBH.
I definitely wouldn't mind seeing some of the characters expanded on, though. The other playable characters in Year of the Dragon were pretty entertaining, but barely got any screen time in-story.

They would show up:
- in their own level
- in one of the other levels in that world
- in one of the levels in the previous world (for Sharla, in the final world instead)
- in one of the levels in the next world (but not for agent 9, because he's from the final world. Instead, he gets two levels in the endgame levels)
- in the boss fight for that world
Also, they got to beat up Moneybags after being released. So maybe not great story significance, but they had plenty of presence in the game.

If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Sheila and Agent 9 were such missed potential in the most-Insomniac titles. They just disappeared.
Tbh if this does lead to future games I hope they'll just focus on making Spyro himself fun to play as/control rather than offering twenty different playstyles/characters to play as. I was never a fan of how many characters you play as in 3, especially since most of them controlled rather awkwardly.
A Hat in Time showed pretty well that having one character who controls amazingly instead of multiple characters that control 'meh'ly is way more important for a 3D platformer if it wants anything resembling success in this day and age.

Crash had far more unortodox approaches to gameplay, after all. Plus, Spyro controlled the same way pretty much across the trilogy. Once that was nailed, why not add something else rather than just reinveinting the wheel?
Because if adding stuff on results in something that's not very fun to play with, it can result in large sections that are just unfun to playthrough. (Glances at Bentley, Shelia and Srg. Byrd's sections) Another case and point: Sonic Adventure.
In my opinion, it's better to focus on improving the solid gameplay established by the first game first rather than adding bells and whistles. Yes, Spyro controls great in the original trilogy but that doesn't mean his controls can't be expanded upon to make controlling him feel even better.

I get your point, but I disagree with it.
The only Year of the Dragon character I didn't enjoy playing as was Agent 9 cause I wasn't good at FP Ses.
The Protomen enhanced my life.
to me i'm fine with the details of spyro, spax on the other hand...
