From myanimelist: "Buntarou doesn't know what he wants to do in the future. He does not have any kind of dream that he wants to pursue, so currently he just spends his days hanging around with his friends. One day, his classmate Sayuki asks him if he wants to help with development of a gal game. She says that she had become interested in his help after she read one his works intended for the drama club.

Buntarou doesn't know anything about gal games, but Sayuki claims that she has the ability to make it a success. Can they make the game, and will it be a success like she claims it will be? This is the story of youths taking a daring step into the unknown..."

First episode is all about introducing the main characters, and they all seem quite likable; plus I'm interested in the plot of creating a galgame, so I'm hoping this series turns out to be as good as it seems!

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

First episode was promising. The story hasn't started yet, but I like the characters and tone

[up][up] That description is really misleading, isn't it?

I went into this without any expectations or knowledge and rather liked the slow pace of the opening episode. Instead of the strange mysterious girl immediately dragging the bland everyboy off on their aventures, we instead got to see that our protagonist has quite a bit of talent & skills and get some sense of why she wants him in the first place. It also gave some time for the mystery girl and protag's friends to be fleshed out too. So far it seems to skirt shy of cliche; looking forward to the next episode.

Shouldn't they need more than one voice actor?

Oh I liked the first two episodes. The lead characters are really cool. Buntarou is pretty lively, capable guy and Sayuki is such an earnest, passionate girl. Also I'm interested to see the ins and outs of making a Shojo game.

The second episode was interesting, with them gathering the crew. Who would expected Atomu to be such a bitter man? Also Sayuki reaction to Buntarou saying that Yuuka is annoying was priceless. grin

And of coruse "Where's the tsundere's?!" [lol]

Akihabara is famous for its Tsundere cafes... Why didn't he go there instead of a Meido!?

[up]Its a Bishoujo Game, something completely different from a Shojo game.

Are Tsundere cafes places where the waitresses act all tsuntsun?

They act Tsun at the start but then go Dere when you leave.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei showed one off in an episode but didn't get as far as the Dere part as the bit went off on a tangent on 'Eternal Seventeen'.

Anyway, Hmm. Now the MC is surrounded by girls and the one gay option, time to write about his life with more embellished romance elements with Imagine Spots. That's the usual way these things go.

Those cafes sound lovely. grin

"Why does all the girls in your script seem oddly familiar?"

"Uh... no reason." >_>

Episode 2: Moe is love. Moe is life.

Not all geeks are actually talented.

Wow, Atomu is the fake "nice guy" type feminists are always complaining about! He's right though, 2D forever!

I love him.

Going to a maid cafe on his own? That's no fun...That's way more embarrassing...

Looks like one of those side-characters from episode 1...She looks way boobier.

Why would you phrase the letter like that?

Oh, she draws vocaloids, nice.

"Tori" is a good nickname, easy to remember.

And the cast is assembled!! (But yeah, only one voice actor?)

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.

Episode 3: Camp time!

Physical activities might help focus, but they also tire you out.

I like how when Sayuki was talking about comparing busts in the bath, it focused on Buntarou staring at her bouncing breasts.

I know the episode wanted us to believe Andou is useful for the team, but honestly, people like her are a bane of group projects - doesn't taking things seriously and yet wants to force selfish changes and throws a fit when she doesn't get her way.

I liked Sayuki sending Buntarou to find out what are everyone's opinions on writing fictional stories. Some interesting answers.

The scene on the balcony felt pretty... intimate I guess? Not physically, but it seems Sayuki and Buntarou understand each other better now, and got closer. I think something might come out of this after all.

Boy that was some interesting Seiza Squirm at the start, man some people go to real lengths to avoid the crap out of that.

He wasn't really in a situation where he would be obligated to seiza anyway.

I'm still not sure whether they're making a yuri game or not. I hope it's yuri.

[up][up] It's rude.

[up] It's probably a Bishoujo Game with lots of Yuri shipping and rivals in the harem. It's quite common for them to have that.

Episode 4!

A wormhole in the bathroom sounds pretty interesting, though.

So it is a yuri, thank goodness.

Futsuu ni.

FUTSUUU NI

We get to meet a weirdo.

Just DO IT

Oh gosh so he is going to go the "make the characters pastiches of people in the club" route.

Feast or famine sleep schedule. I wish I could hibernate for 25 hours after not getting enough sleep.

Go the f to sleep Tori-chan.

Go the Fuck to Sleep.

Their symbol is an extremely sleep-deprived drawing of a face with twin tails.

She was just humming.

From writers block to writers splurge. Such is life as a writer.

So it's a simple love story... which includes fights to the death. I like the way they're thinking.

Ouch, a lukewarm praise like this can be worse than scathing criticism.

"Strong characters" is one of the more vague terms associated with writing. It's easy to tell a strong character when you see one, but there's no prescription for writing them.

Sayuki makes sure to get Bunta out of a slump. Also, she somehow knows the most popular writer in businesses.

Yep, no tricks, just not giving up.

So it indeed comes to writing who he knows in.

Yuuki already knows that the key to succeeding in gaming industry are unreasonable working hours and lack of sleep.

I like how this show actually focuses on the game making process and problems that come with it, rather than using it as a backdrop for random hijinks.

That is indeed a nice melody.

Also, she somehow knows the most popular writer in businesses.

Didn't she say her brother worked in the game-making industry already? I'm pretty sure she has been to his company's office at least once and met some of his colleagues there.

How she can get one of them to just come and meet with her and her club-mate at such a short notice is another questions, though. Then again, script-writers AFAIK aren't the people who are bound to sit in the office for 8 hours a day...

Episode 5:

So yeah, Andou is still a horrible person to work with. "Hard on others, easy on herself" is just about the nicest way to put it. Freaking Prima donna is more like it. But she's apparently the only programmer they can get, and more importantly she's on the poster, so Bunta has to go and retrieve her again. just pray we'll not have to go through this for the third time in the future.

And wow, the fishing trip was weird as hell, almost like we got into a different series. Why was the boat talking anyway?

Well, things look up in the next episode. Beach time!

[up]yeah, Andou-san sure is not a nice person to have on a team.

Hylarn (Don’t ask)

Andou-san is really not a very likable character. And do they even need a programmer? VN engines and a basic website don't take all that much skill

Could have done without the fishing trip

Weak episode

Yeah, the fishing part was... I dunno... bizarre? Certainly didn't fit well with the rest of the story so far.

[up] Not familiar with VN engines, but I assume that dedicated templates exist and are readily available if you know how to use google or whatever search engine. Also, yes, even without relying on various free-to-use templates, building a team's web-site shouldn't be something that requires any skills beyond what the schools of today (I assume the action here takes place in 2010s) teach. Are these guys skipping their computer science lessons?
