CoLC crossover RP, main thread

Miss Tairee looked at Rex with a somewhat incredulous expression, then quickly typed up a response in another blur of movement with her hands, tore it out, and placed it on the counter in front of Rex.

While Rex and Twilight were reading that, Sawyer had come over to ask her own question. Miss Tairee shook her head, then typed up and tore out another response.

Aigis paused in her walk to turn and look at Hol Horse's stand for a moment. Then she shook her head.

"You are mistaken on a couple of points. Firstly, Persona, what you refer to as my "Stand" as, is not her name. Her name is Athena. She is a persona, beings that a select few people in my world use to fight against dark beings known as Shadows. I also believe you are mistaken about this "Emperor" being the same thing as Athena, I have seen Personas of many shapes and sizes, but they were almost always in some sort of humanoid form, as they are manifestations of a persons other self, and thus reflect a person in their shape. The only exception I recall to this was Cerberus, a persona summoned by a dog. I have never heard of any persona manifesting in the shape of a gun."

Everyone had left Shiara sitting on the pavement. She sat there for a bit, patting Nightwitch, then pulled herself up, wincing.

"Well, that was fun. Ohh.. I left my bundle at the library."

She headed off in the library's direction.

Grimlock; Dino mode

Grocery

Grimlock sighed with relief as the girl and her kitten left. Though he felt guilty he couldn't help the recovering girl to wherever she's heading. Stupid kitten. He took his time to calm himself after using a lot of his willpower to stay put. It wasn't easy, but he was also a little happy he was able to stay for a bit. If it lasted any longer though, he wasn't so sure if he would've.

"So... bad experience with those little furry fiends too?"

He looked down and saw that Ranma was by his side. He gave another sigh, a puff of stylized smoke appearing when he did before dissapating.

"Yeah, you could say," he said with dejection, both at himself for his fear and at the "furry fiends" as she put it.

He just sat there. He didn't feel like moving right now. So much happened in such a short time and he had to hold himself still twice. He really wished Russel or Sideswipe was here, they'd surely know how to brighten things up. Maybe for real in Sideswipe's case.

"Excuse me," he heard someone say and looked to see Plague Knight about to go back into the grocery. "I am planning to pick up some extra chemicals and materials for some of my research. You wish to join me?"

He thought for a moment. Then he looked back at Ranma. Then he looked to the sky. He remembered that humans, or at least Russel and Denny, ate three times and day and he had no idea if Ranma ate. Besides, he had no idea if he could really ask Miss Tairee to conjure Energon right now so he had to try eat something today, when things were different and maybe he could eat non-Energon food. Like how he could possibly have two days ago.

He returned his sight to Plague Knight. "Sure," he said and stood up. Then to Ranma, he said, "Wanna get something to eat? I'm gonna see if I can eat stuff that ain't Energon."

Tairee answered that a lot of things could cause possession without symptoms. This was getting Rex nowhere.

"So, what you're telling me is that any number of things could fit the description. And, because there are infinite universes, I can't possibly look for information on everything that could do that. I guess research time is over"

Well, so much for trying to learn whatever was affecting the alicorn and the kid-hero. But Rex had another way to investigate what was going on. Going straight to the source.

"Could you do me a solid, Tairee? Cole's been pretty hectic since he died again and he would be pretty worried about me if he knew what I plan on doing. Just tell him I'm in Plague Knight's pub having lunch"

Rex walked to one of the doors of the library and stopped near the door to adress the characters still inside the building.

"I'm going to make a bird sing. Do you girls want to come?"

Library

[Got it. Do you mind if I ask you to give me a notification of sorts if he ever shows up?] Sawyer asked, idly poking her own speech bubble.

Cole hadn't woken up the whole time Sawyer had carried him to the library and left him resting in a safer corner on one of the upper floors, apparently too exhausted to pay any attention to being carted like a particularly twitchy sack of potatoes. The only movement from him had been to curl up on his side with one hand reaching up pretty much automatically to grip at the brim of his hat, still snoozing contentedly.

Newton's Laws being what they are, the body at rest would likely stay at rest until acted upon by an outside force.

At this point, listening in on the conversation involving the "bird dude" that Ben had mentioned, Ben piped up.

"He calls himself Old Feather Beak," he chimed in. "He has a thick beak, a robe, and he has this staff with a weird symbol on the end of it," he explained, still leaning on the couch. "If you wanna track him down, go ahead. I'd go with you but I'm too tired..." With that, he began to nod off.

New Leads? Also, Coyer

Oh hey, Ben was not that dumb after all.

[Appreciated. What did the symbol look like?] She asked. [Well anyway, be sure to relay that info to others. Something tells me that the Old Beak is a shifty character.] With a small nod towards the self-proclaimed hero and the librarian, the cleaner went upstairs to check on Cole.

She found him tucked in some corner, sleeping soundly. Well, it probably wouldn't do good to wake him up now. He needed some rest after all the stuff that happened. Putting away the chainsaw to not disturb him with stuff that shouldn't be alive she scooted close to the slumbering spirit, slowly shuffling off his hat and putting it next to him so it wouldn't get in the way of his sleeping, then, carried by some higher purpose, ruffled his hair a little.

Though she wasn't aware of that, she was smiling rather genuinely.

Ben described how the bird looked like but he made it clear that he wasn't going to the factory again. He said he was tired but Rex knew he was probably hiding behind his smug attitude. He knew that because that's what he always did when fighting EVOs and especially Van Kleiss. Never letting them know when they really had an advantage.

"Oh, I get it. Yeah, I know bird people can be scary. It's ok if you don't want to come. I mean, there could be... clowns or spiders or things like that. That's too much for a kid. I'll make sure to tell Old Feather Beak you said 'hi' before I punch the snot out of him"

"Yeah, food sounds pretty good right now." After the crazy happenings that all but slammed into the girl over the last few hours (sometimes literally in the case of the book cars), the girl decided to go for the thing that was most familiar to her outside of practicing martial arts. A full stomach could always make a bad day much better was the girl's opinion.

By now having fully restored mental and physical equilibrium, Ranma turned her eyes towards Plague Knight with just a smidgen of suspicion. "As long as the chemicals ain't things that explode super easily or anything that messes around with people's thinking, I'm for it. Also got anything for the big guy? If anyone could help a robot eat stuff, it's someone who tinkers around with chemicals and stuff."

Miss Tairee looked wildly confused, and tried to type up a response but Rex and Sawyer walked away as she did. Thankfully Rex stopped at one of the doors to talk to Ben, letting Miss Tairee jog over, waving an arm at Rex while saying, "wah wuh!" Once she got up close she handed him the slip she'd typed up at the desk.

Shiara stood, stumped by the road outside the library. Deciding to chance it, she, moving quickly, crossed the road, and nearly made it before being promptly run over, turning her into a humourous outline on the road. Peeling herself off, she popped back into 3D, with many popping noises.

She walked into the library to aee her bundle on the floor, and Ben and Rex talking. She approached them,, and Miss Tairee.

"Excuse me, do you know if there are any healers or witches around? I'm somewhat injured, you see."

Nightwitch had spared herself the humiliation of being run over by, well, being a cat. She curled once around Shiara's leg, then walked off to find Cole, and once that was achieved, she jumped onto the sleeping spirit, and curled up, purring,

Ben immediately sat up, rubbing his eyes. He may be tired but he didn't want to be thought of as a coward.

"I'm not scared! It's just late and I've had a long day. But fine. Whatever. We'll do things your way." Ben stood up, stretching and yawning a bit. "Let's go. You're gonna end up keeping me up all night and I'm not okay with that."

"No promises on the first request, but I will definitely honor the second request," Plague Knight said to Ranma. "And being the master alchemist I am, I may be able to concoct something for our metallic friend here," he said, motioning to Grimlock. "Now, let us peruse!" Plague Knight reentered the store, proceeding to walk about, grabbing various items containing varying substances.

He picked up a whole selection of different items, from the edible such as spices, fruits, vegetables, juices, baking chocolate, and alcohol; to cleaning supplies such as laundry detergent, bleach, floor cleaners, and stain removers; to seemingly random items such as motor oil, rubbing alcohol, light bulbs, and a jug of pig's blood. All of this while a cheesy instrumental song straight out of the 1950's blared from an unseen source.

While Plague Knight concentrated on getting his own items while collecting more food items from Ranma, both the martial artist and Grimlock were able to see the full scope of the brawl that happened within the store. After about a half an hour, the alchemist was finished collecting all the items he needed for now and waited outside the store.

"Great! And don't worry, the night is still young. We'll have plenty of time to sleep when we find out what's going on. Believe me, I also want to take a nap"

Tairee ran to where Rex was waving a picec of paper at him. She wrote that she didn't know what he was talking about. This didn't seem like part of the day conditions, her boss would have probably inform her of that. So, what? Was it something he simply decided to do because he was bored? Was Cole just going crazy? What if something had possessed Cole instead?

"Cole sensed something in Ben and Twilight's head and we think it might be related to a creepy factory or a bird guy. Do you know if your boss could have something to do with it?"

Outside the library

Lune ended up joining and ask if she could go eat with then, to which Caro replied, " Of course. We were about to discuss what we should do about that just now."

After discussing whatever or not they should go out in the city, since Zelda did have a point, it was still fairly crazy out there, Sans offered to go by himself to look for food and bring it to them here. Caro though this was a sound idea and replied, " Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. Since we are limited to raw food, I guess some piece of fruit, like a few apples plus a can or box of juice would suffice. It is not much, but it is better than nothing, I suppose.""

Then since Zelda had ask for details about what happened, she turned to her and said, " Well, I guess it is only fair that you informed about it, since like you said, it might end up affecting you. The gist of it is that there was sort of a fight after the king's challenge ended. There this one guy in a large hat that was saying that there was something wrong like Ben and someone called Twilight. Apparently he was sensing some sort of evil presence that according to him, can only be deal with magic, so I offered to help. But that guy pretty much went out of commision for today and I don't want try anything on my own without knowing what do, I decided that it was best to deal with tomorrow after taking with them again. And also apparently, this situation might have been caused by a bird-like man according to Ben. So yeah, that's about it.""

Mary - To-Do List

"Wait, I think I have it written down around here somewhere."

Mary searched her bag once again, pulling out her sketchbook and taking the chance to put away her pamphlet. She flipped through the pages once, twice, three times. She finally found the desired page the sixth time she checked, and approached Old Feather Beak to show it to him.

"Here," she said, offering him the sketchbook for him to read. "That's the list of all the things I wanna do someday."

On the paper was a list, sloppily written in what seemed to be crayon. Some of the items in the list had little stars drawn next to them, while others had smaller text to the side. One item in particular, as well as the star next to it, seemed to have been scribbled all over with the same two words, in a handwriting so thick and that made the original text almost illegible in the background.

Miss Tairee looked at Shiara with an expression that seemed more dismissive than concerned, then at Rex and muttered, "wuh wah wuh wah, wah wah wuh wah" while turning back towards her desks and beckoning them to follow. With some more blurs of her hands on the typewriter, she wrote up two slips of paper and placed them on the desk for Rex or Shiara to read if they had followed. After she'd placed them, she started typing on the typewriter normally again, though with some clear haste to it.

Old Feather Beak was silent as he stared at the list; for longer than it seemed like it should have taken him to just read it. "... Yeees. I could help you with this, child" Old Feather Beak finally said, smiling. He got up from the chair and handed the sketchbook back to Mary. "Come. I believe some of the food items you mentioned here may be stored in these abodes" he suggested, opening up the rooftop access door and heading down the staircase into the building.

Grimlock; Dino mode

Plague Knight dashed inside as soon as he finished his answer to Ranma's question. He blinked, the action punctuated with the sound of a xylophone. He shook his head, also accompanied by a comical sound effect, before walking in. He could see Plague Knight pass by, very quickly taking various items and ingredients. He was reminded of Fixit, for some reason. Maybe because he was small and smart.

He started looking around, a bit surprised he was able to fit but he did remember the all powerful guy that put them here did make him smaller to fit. Now he was even more glad he did, even if no one actually owned this place, he still didn't want to unneccessarily smash stuff.

He tried remembering the foods Denny and Russel ate as he searched. Eventually, he did find one he did recognize, bacon, and there was lots of them along with other stuff he wasn't so sure of. He picked up a few, filling his entire hand. That was probably enough for Ranma since his hand was about the size of her head. But wait...how were they supposed to cook them? Maybe Plague Knight would know. Now where to put them...

He looked back at the place where he got the bacon.

Grimlock was now in another part of the store, this time with a metal box in his hands filled with bacon. He had tried seeing if there was anything that was similar to Energon, but he didn't really see any. He didn't feel like trying anything else. Earlier, after the tore out the bacon section, he tried some of the other meats since he vaguely remembered a movie with a Dinobot like creature—Russel said it was a dinosaur called a T. rex—eating a goat. He didn't like the feeling in his mouth. Trying to chew it just reminded him of humans and...he almost got sick from imagining he was eating one and promptly spat it out.

He stopped at the entrance and gave a quick cursory glance. He had looked at the entire place. There wasn't anything else and he got something for Ranma if she didn't, or couldn't, get any. So he went outside and saw Plague Knight waiting. He decided to wait outside for Ranma as well before he'd ask him a question.

Since Zelda mentioned that today was pretty crazy, it still wouldn't be safe to eat out for now. Sans mentioned that he'll get things that didn't require any cooking so they can save time when eating. Caro asked if Sans could get some fruit and recapped Zelda on the current situation regarding Ben and Twilight's "possession" by a mysterious force.

"...And don't forget about the granola bars," added Lune. "Before I exercise, I usually have them as a snack for a quick energy boost."

Grocery Store -> Heading Outside

Bill decided to hitch a ride on the giant robot/dinosaur by hanging onto the back like a key chain. "Don't mind me, I just want to get out of here and I'm sick of getting myself injured."

"...Eh...But..." Hol Horse evidently, his senses notwithstanding, had barked up the wrong tree entirely. It looked, felt and sounded like the same concept as a stand...but considering he was talking to a woman with a missile launcher strapped to her back, he was a bit afraid of what an argument would look like between them. He shrugged in defeat, and said "Well...I've seen an ape with a "persona" that was a boat before. Weird, eh?" He awkwardly laughed for a few seconds, before pulling his hat down in shame and walking away.

He traveled a total of maybe 20 feet before reaching his destination. Grimlock and a short little birdman-looking thing were outside the store. Hol Horse wasn't entirely convinced about the effectiveness of asking a dinosaur questions, but he had at least one that he though he'd know. "Hey, Grimlock. So, Mickey Mouse back there...everyone seemed mighty happy when he was gone. For a moment, at least...Anyway, was there a reason people were tossing him around like that?"

Cole had actually made a soft noise when his hat was removed, but the hair ruffling seemed to settle that, leaving him to settle back down in contentment. Nightwitch coming along and choosing to lay on him brought a smile for just a second before it vanished beneath sleep again, with Cole folding his arms under his head as a bit of a makeshift pillow, going still and silent again save for the still-present Z's floating about.

Outside the Library -> Library

"I don't know what's good around here, so...I'll settle for something edible," Zelda told Sans with a shrug, "Though I suppose you can't go wrong with fruit, so long as it isn't rotten."

After that, she turned back to Caro and listened to her explanation, looking more and more perturbed as it went on.

"Somehow, I'm reminded of the calamity that sent Skyloft into the sky," she said, "I wasn't expecting my stay here to be anywhere near as calm as Skyloft normally is...but I'm not liking the sound of this. Though it didn't look like anyone was acting particularly unusual back there...." She frowned, trying to remember how Ben acted the last she saw him. "...At least we have a potential cause of it and something to watch out for."

She then glanced back towards the Library. "Anyway, I think I'll wait inside the library. At least there's places to sit down in there."

Provided no one else interrupted her, she would proceed to do just that, sitting herself down at one of the tables. She then looked up through the glass above at the stars again.
