Sans looked at Zelda, who seemed to be the "no fun allowed" type "relax, we can't get hurt here today, even if it had hit her on the eye it would probably just bounce off without causing any damage." he told her.

Caro then made her introduction, even with just three more people around she was still acting really timid, making Sans wonder just what exactly was her "limit". It so happened that the blonde girl among them also seemed to be struggling to talk, but in her case she seemed to be afraid of something, making Sans wonder if it was him or Fried, likely the latter going from the way she looked at the dragon. He wasn't even at his big form and she was already like that, one could only wonder how much she would freak out if he transformed right now.

"dont mind my, uh... friend...?" he glanced at Caro and gave her a shrug, he didn't know if she already considered him a friend or just some sort of companion to guide her around, he then shifted his focus back to the group of girls. "anyway, she's pretty shy when she's talking to a bunch of people. my name is sans, nice to meet you all." he introduced himself once more, wondering just how many times he had done that so far and how many more he would have to just that day.

Anti-human rally

Things didn't go quite as planned but at least snake-girl seemed to not wish ill to humans only avoid them. And apparently she didn't believe that Rex was an EVO because she sarcastically called him that to shut him up. It was funny, back in his world, he was considered dangerous because he was an EVO, now he was considered dangerous because he was human-looking. How did that happen?

"Ok, but you may wanna know that there's an anarchist group called Ruckus that would use this rally to create more problems. Watch out for people wearing red lines on their shoulders or something like that"

At that moment, a yellow triangle with an eye walked to where the serpent-girl was. Rex was used to seeing some pretty weird creatures but living shapes wasn't one of them so he just stared at Bill wondering how it even managed to exist.

Many of the crowd, including the naga girl, scowled as Ben transformed back into a human. "I have this handled" the naga girl said dismissively to Bill, and slithered forward through the group to glare more directly at Ben and Rex. "A couple of human boys thinking they know better than anyone else because they have special powers; or are you just scared of the thought of a bunch of 'monsters' banding together?" she asked them rhetorically, folding her arms.

"Well this movement is already underway. You can't stop it without stooping to violence, which you can't today anyway. But all you have to do is not target non-humans, and we won't have any problem with you" the naga girl told them, before sternly adding, "now run off human spawn; you're not welcome her-"

And then the fireworks shop a couple buildings down from the intersection started exploding, fireworks popping and shooting out from it wildly. The human boy with the red x on his armband came out laughing like a loon, a bundle of roman candles in hand that were already lit and firing off towards the rally crowd. Of course, they were all narrowly missing hitting anyone, but in the heat of the moment it was easy for many of the people to forget that they couldn't be hurt today, and they scattered in a panic. The naga girl tried to get them to come to order by yelling with her megaphone, but it was to no avail; only a small number of other non-humans stuck around. "Damn it this..." the naga girl trailed off, then wheeled around to look at Rex and Ben again, her expression surprised and angry. "You- did you have something to do with this?! Just a distraction for your friend?!" she yelled at them accusingly.

Ben's eyebrows furrowed at the naga girl. "I'm not scared! If you must know, I've been trying to stop Brother Marcus for almost a week now! He's just been too strong to—"

At that moment, the explosion went off. Ben jumped, and turned towards the explosion. "Whoa!! What the heck?!" Ben shouted, really wishing that the Omnitrix was off cooldown so he could start saving people. Upon being accused of organizing this, Ben frowned.

"No way! I wouldn't be friends with someone who blows up buildings!" Ben shouted. "Now, we've gotta get you guys to safety. The library's safe." Ben turned his attention to the boy with the Roman candles. "I'll take care of this guy." He knew no one could get hurt. On the one hand, it meant that he really didn't have a way to stop the guy. On the other hand, it also meant that he was in no danger from the rockets in his hand, and all he had to do was get him to stop tossing rockets.

Ben growled a bit, then ran towards the boy with the rockets, fists clenched. "Hey, knock it off, will you?!"

From out of no where, a water balloon flew straight for the fireworks using kid. Whether or not it was a direct hit, the balloon would explode into a thick puddle of harmless dark blue ink.

"Thank you so much for the stress relief," Plague Knight said to the prankster. "I needed it....." he said dangerously. He then tossed another balloon at the Ruckus members, creating cascading waves of child safe purple slime upon bursting, staining clothes but sparing flesh.

Outside the Library

"Hurt or not, it's still a good idea to make sure you don't hit anyone," Zelda replied to Sans, before deciding to drop the subject. The skeleton had already apologized for it; this wasn't like Groose where she needed to get really snippy to get it through to him. "Anyway, I think we met earlier, but I never got the chance to introduce myself then."

She put on another smile and again bowed her head in greeting. "My name is Zelda. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sans, Caro, and Fried."

At that moment, she noticed Mary's apparent fear of the little dragon. Fried didn't look all that dangerous to her; if nothing else, he wasn't acting dangerous.

"I think he's harmless," she said to Mary, "He probably would have attacked by now if he wasn't. At least, that's my experience with monsters."

"Well, sometimes you lapse into talking about stuff in such order that it's hard to get you." Swing on, swing off.

"Of course... it's probably hard to be as disconnected from reality as Lotton is." She chuckled, letting the air brush her hair as she moved back and forward. "Would you start a fight with a long and flowery soliloquy where everybody can see you and hear you?"

"Also..." Sawyer looked at him curiously again. "Am I... that hard to get myself?"

"When I fight, I'm supposed to stay quiet and as close to invisible as I can." He didn't stop his swinging, but abruptly his body seemed to smoke out into a greenish outline of itself before vanishing entirely, then reappeared with a slight puff of mist, as though nothing had happened. "I'm better at that than anyone else. Before I became human, I didn't have to make it happen, it just did. I was that way all the time and chose to let people see me. Now it's the opposite."

Another short pause. "You...can be hard to understand. But not in a bad way. You aren't hiding what you are. A lot of people try to hide from themselves, because they're ashamed. You don't do that. I...can't agree with all that I see, but you don't hide it. Being honest means a lot."

Random streets

Garrett felt a slight twinge of disappointment upon examining the contents of the bag. Just some silver and copper coins... and unmarked to boot, which meant they weren't much different from any old disk of metal and didn't have numismatic value back home. Oh, well. Even silver is worth something melted down. He kept the bag.

Come to think of it, maybe being stuck in this place wouldn't be a complete waste of time. Back home, there surely were enough scholars, collectors, museum curators which would be willing to give a pretty penny for unique, otherworldly artifacts; enough to make this unwanted trip somewhat worthwhile. Even just that library... it must have had some books from other universes that Garrett's own, and even one of its tomes would be priceless to antiquarians and researchers. And, depending on how the entire awful business with the Hag eventually pans out (Garrett wasn't sure it'd end well without him around to take care of her), the Keepers might make good buyers for such books as well.

Still, it wouldn't be a good idea to carry all the loot on his person for days at a time. He'd have to find a temporary home, and fast. Nothing too fancy, just a bed and enough room to hide some valuables. He'll just have to ask around, that or find an empty room where he can crash for a week or two.

Meanwhile, while he was musing and planning, the city's shifting nature took him to the vicinity of a certain playground...

Playground, with Cole and Sawyer

A girl was sitting there, dressed in rather somber-looking garb, and next to her... Who was that? Ah. The intriguing, perpetually nervous man; that ugly hat of his was unmistakable. He seemed to be engaged in conversation with the girl and Garrett didn't interrupt them, but he quietly sneaked up from behind and hid behind the nearest tree or in the nearest shadow to eavesdrop. He needed to learn more about this guy, and how he knew the things he knew.

Grimlock; Dino mode

Library, 2nd Floor

The girl thought for a moment, then she said, "Hmm...I wanna talk about you. You're a robot, right? Who made you?"

"Yeah, I am," he said. "I wasn't made by anyone. I'm Cybertronian, a kind of alien robot. I was born from the Allspark on Cybertron. All Cybertronians come from there." He tapped the center of his chest. "It's where our sparks come from. They're our heart and soul."

"I suppose that's a reason to be appreciated." She nodded, swinging on her own seat. "Honesty is nice, and it helps in avoiding conflicts."

She glanced at him with a frown. "What... what was that greenish shimmer?"

"I'm okay," Sadness had responded to Zelda. "It's just a pa -"

And it was that point that she spotted Sans and Caro approaching. Mary was afraid of the little dragon above the girl's head, but while Sadness had some flashbacks to last night's fiasco, she was more concerned with the skeleton. Heck the only reason she didn't run away was because of Caro's presence - no one who hung around a shy girl could be that bad, right? As it was, the emotion jumped to her feet but stood her ground.

Sans introduced himself, but Sadness stared at him blankly, the pun flying right over her head. Since living skeletons were a talked-about myth back in her own world, the skeleton weirded her out more than anything she'd met so far. At the least, she'd have expected him to be less sentient, like a zombie.

"I'm Sadness," she mumbled finally, mostly for the benefit of Caro. She started to stammer a question, but her protective instincts towards Mary kicked in and she just scooted back to her side without another word. She tried not to lean on her - sad thoughts weren't so helpful right about now - but she wanted to lend her support that the little dragon was nothing to be afraid of. (and also don't freak out now please please please)

Outside the Library

Caro smiled warmly at Sans " S-Sure, I guess we're kinda friends already. You're nice and have been helping us quite a bit."

She then turned her attention to the three other girls. Since Zelda had bowed at her, something that she had seen quite often from being around Nanoha and Hayate, it was only polite that she bowed back at her, so she did so, " I-It's nice to meet you, Mary, Zelda and Sadness."

Caro became quite concerned upon seeing Mary's fearful reaction to Fried. Maybe the other girl, who from how much older she seemed right now, was probably younger than even her, had bad experiences with other dragons and was afraid of getting burned. Caro was kind-hearted by nature, so despite her insecurities, she couldn't help going over to Mary in order to assuge her fears. Before she did so however, she turned her head up to speak to Fried, " Fried, could you maybe stay back with Sans for now?"

The dragon summon happily obliged and landed in a spot next to Sans and somewhat far away from Mary and her group.

Hoping that had help towards calming down Mary's fears, Caro slowly approached the other girl. Flashing her a hopefully comforting smile, she said, " Hey, it's OK. Your friend is right. Fried won't do anything to harm anyone unless an enemy seriously provokes us. Plus, he has only a small fraction of his power in this form and even if he did attack someone for no reason, which is really, really unlikely, it's not like anyone can get hurt today, so you have nothing to be afraid of. But I'm guessing that you have meet some more ... malevolent dragons before, haven't you?"

What used to be an Anti-Human Rally

Specter Knight backed away a bit from the former rally, and tried to go through all that had just happened. First, what he had thought was a ghost was really just some mortal who could shapeshift. How disappointing, he thought to himself. Then, some triangle wearing a hat appeared...

And then a fool caused an explosion. While Specter Knight certainly hadn't been scared by the sudden explosion, it did make everything harder to focus on for a few moments. When he was able to process everything again, he saw a few people trying to deal with the lunatic mortal. Even if he couldn't hurt the fool, Specter Knight went over to aid them.

"yea, don't worry kid. the cute little fella here is pretty harmless" said Sans, letting out a chuckle as he remembered his first prank on Caro "trust me, if he was dangerous he would have fried me a long time ago."

He then glanced at Sadness, who instead seemed to be nervous about him instead of the little dragon. She didn't sound like a very jolly person if she was named like that. It was kinda hard to tell if she was human or not, as far as Sans knew most humans weren't blue, but she also didn't quite look like a monster either. Then again, considering the place they were in there was probably a ton of different species of creatures there other than just those two. Either way, he tried waving at the blue girl in a friendly manner in order to dispell any concerns she might have about him.

"by the way, could you give me my paper back?" he requested to her.

Anti-human rally — Fireworks

Ghostfreak went back to normal at the worst possible time. Rex just facepalmed at how he had failed to convince the snake-girl. She even taunted them saying that the rally couldn't be stopped unless they resorted to violence.

"Human or not, I'm going to punch anyone that deserves it"

And just when things couldn't get any worse, a fireworks shop near the rally exploded and all of the rockets flew in random directions causing mass hysteria. The snake-girl naturally accused Rex and Ben of everything.

"Didn't you hear what I just told you? It's the pranskters!"

The guy that had started everything was a human kid, which wouldn't help at all to fix the human-monster relationship. Ben (who had apparently taken a page from Rex's book when it came to clothes) tried to stop the kid from causing any more trouble using only his fists.

"No offense Ben, but threats work better when there's some weight behind them"

Rex knew he couldn't cause any real harm but he was fighting against a kid, he didn't need to hurt him, just immobilize him. A glowing blue backpack-like machine appeared on his back and a black tentacle sprouted from his right hand. He aimed it at the kid and, with any luck, he would capture the kid and stop him from stirring up trouble.

Ben stopped in his tracks when Rex pointed out the futility of his actions.

"Well it's not my fault the stupid Omnitrix decided to shut off on me," Ben pointed out, standing there in a huff for a moment. He then went over towards Lune and Ranma. "C'mon, let's just get back to the library," Ben told the girls, beginning to walk in the direction of the library, before stopping and looking at the naga girl.

"My offer still stands. I'm a hero, Miss. I save those in need. Human or not." He then started walking again.

Lune just watched the situation unfold in front of her face in a daze. She didn't care when the naga girl started pointing fingers at the human race because she saw that mischievous kid nearby with the fireworks. Before things really got of hand, Rex was there to stopped that kid with his handy-dandy technology powers. She snapped out of the daze when Ben told them they were heading in the direction of the library again. Maybe she could do some research on the various non-human species and understand their point of view.

Lune looked at Ben. "Alright. Let's get going, I guess?" Lune started heading in the direction of the library.

Ben walked alongside Lune in the direction of the library. As he walked, he thought. Why was he having these really weird thoughts?

The very thought of it made him blush slightly. He looked back at Lune.

"Look, I'm really sorry about all that. I just wanted to have a nice meal is all. I didn't want to get all those people upset at me, and I really didn't want to do something stupid. It's just... I'm a hero, and I feel like I need to prove it. Y'know?" He asked her.

"So...you're an alien and a robot? That doesn't make sense..."

She pondered the topic, hand raised to chin in as thoughtful of a pose she could come up with. Her knowledge of aliens, admittedly, was limited. So was her knowledge of robots. Though, she had heard of half-youkai running around, so maybe this was like that?

"If you're an alien robot, was your dad, Mr. Allspark, the robot or the alien?"

"That is something I can still do, even since becoming human. I can hide from view. Though it isn't as easy as it once was." Cole paused in his swinging, turning his head to look over his shoulder, looking as though he were listening, before turning his head back to Sawyer. "I have...abilities. Magic, they would have called it back where I come from, but I am not a mage. At least, I don't think I am."

Another glance over his shoulder, a slightly raised eyebrow, almost a question, before looking back to Sawyer again. "In my world, Andrastians tend to burn the bodies of the dead. Demons would possess them otherwise and become horrors. Is that why you have to destroy bodies?"

Former anti-human rally

Bill crossed his arms and growled a little. He absolutely hated not having his way and there was way too much of that today already. Annoyed with everything, he decided to follow the two humans at a safe distance.

"I'm afraid it's not quite as romantic." Sawyer shrugged. "A body left alone begins to mold and rot. It has to be disposed of. Normally most people either bury or cremate the dead, depending on the fancy of your religion, but in Roanapur you often cannot afford such services."

"Which is why being a cleaner is a profitable job. Not many wish to clean up the dead. Not many do it properly." There was something of a pride in her voice. "And I happen to be the cleaner."

Grimlock; Dino mode

Library, 2nd floor; This is what happens when you ask the not-so-smart guy these questions

"Uh..." Grimlock said.

He was a bit stumped by the girl's question. Mr. Allspark? Robot or alien? Now he really wished Fixit was here, he was better at explaining these things for humans to understand. He tried to answer anyway.

"Both? Uh... I'm like...uh...Cybertronians are like organics. We eat and get tired and stuff, but we're just made of metal." Admittedly, he didn't know what kind of metal because it was like asking what your skin was made out of, so he hoped the girl wouldn't ask that question. His processor was starting to get fumbled. "So...we're aliens made of metal, I guess."

"Then...I am glad that you have found good work to do. It seems...you enjoy the job?" He went back to a slightly more subdued swinging. "I enjoy my work. I like to help people, even if it hurts sometimes. Knowing the hurt means knowing how to fix it. Or at least knowing how to try. Some people don't...want to be helped. I wish they did."
