If it counts, it'd be pretty awesome if we got a biopic on The Great Video Game Crash of 1983 seeing the video game industry collapse due to Atari (among other circumstances) and the resurgence of video games via the rise of Nintendo.

Or if that doesn't count, maybe a biopic on Satoru Iwata?

A biopic on the history of Saturday Night Live would be an interesting idea. You could just cover the first 5 seasons but even then you'd have a ton of material.

People, those are not biopics. A movie about a TV show isn't a biopic and a movie about a video game crash isn't a biopic.

How about Victoria Woodhull?

A movie on Iwata could be a biopic. Those other two suggestions would just be documentaries or something akin to biographical dramas.

Axel von Fersen could work. He was friends with Marie Antoinette and was later murdered by a lynch mob in broad daylight on the streets of Stockholm... while a military escort was present.

It would also be interesting Dipendra biopic, mostly because I want to see a movie about the Nepalese Royal Massacre.

Y’know with the insane success of the Marvel Cinematic Univers, I think it is about time somebody make a movie about The One Above All.

[up] On that note, I'd also be interested in biopics about Stan Lee, Siegel and Shuster (especially if they dont whitewash the legal battle), and Bill Gaines.

Mick Foley, it's a pretty classic underdog story, guy with aspirations in a field everyone said he didn't have a chance in, climbs the mountain top to be one of the legends of the industry while having no real scandals in an infamously seedy industry, and his story even has a meet cute in it.

This'll probably have to wait a few decades until the person in question is safely dead, but I can't help but think we'll eventually get one for one or more of the most notorious figures of the Great '10s Showbiz Sex Scandal, such as Cosby or Weinstein. Or even just a dramatization of the scandal itself like Spotlight,

Going into music biopics, I heard that there was going to be a Guns N Roses biopic with Macaulay Culkin as Axl, but that it's currently in development hell. Hopefully it gets off the ground, that could ressurect Culkin's career if anything.

bumping this thread up, I was just thinking that either Heart or Pat Benatar would be good picks for biopics. Both of them were the first female hard rock artists (well, Heart did have male members, but Ann and Nancy were the lead singers) and it would be interesting to see how they broke into a male-dominated scene and how they had to deal with corrupt execs.

Remember that I listed Astrid Lindgreen as one of those people's whose story might be interesting in a small movie? Yeah, there will be one released about her life soon. It's an European movie, though, so you'll most likely not get it.

This one? It was released quite some time ago in Sweden.

Yeah...it is now getting released in Germany too.

Is it any good?

I'd love to see a Patti Smith or Lou Reed film.

A Mabel Normand or Mary Pickford film would be nice. The former's life seems particularly like it'd fit a drama.

Grace O'Malley-Badass Irish Pirate and Noblewoman. Also supported Irish Rebel activities against the English and had a personal face to face meeting with Elizabeth I at one point.

Æthelflæd-"Lady of the Mercians." Awesome daughter of Alfred the Great, ruler of the Kingdom of Mercia. A successful ruler and military commander in her own right, and so awesome that even the Vikings were wary of her.

Tamar The Great-Queen of Georgia, Georgia was at the height of it's golden age during her rule.

Bass Reeves-Born a slave, fled to freedom. Became the first Black Deputy US Marshal west of the Mississippi River. Arrested over 3,000 felons during his career (one of whom was his own son), and killed 14 outlaws in self-defense.

Jack Kirby-One of the most influential men in comic book history. Helped to create Captain America. Also served in George Patton's famous Third Army during WWII as well.

Æthelflæd doesn't really get anything like enough credit. Papa Alf was the one who created the concept of a unified England but she was the one who had to make sure it didn't fall to pieces after he died, and to keep things progressing.

Don LaFontaine would be an interesting idea. Reading his Wikipedia page seems like good movie material.

Not only would an Alice Cooper movie be good, but from the recent pics I've seen of him, he could probably play himself (well, aside from the scenes of him as a child obviously) since he's aged well and looks pretty much the same as he did in the 70s (though I dont know if Alice would want to revisit his 80s "new wave" look for the early 80s scenes).

Ota Benga, because dammit, I want future generations to never forget the time we put an African native into the Bronx Zoo's monkey house.
