I'd assume Starfire as they designed her was also quite difficult to wrap a season around without fundamentally changing her character, whereas Robin, Raven and even Beast Boy were complex enough that they could learn and grow while still basically being the same.

Like Cyborg, she doesn't really have lasting problems or character flaws that don't get resolved in a few minutes, and is practically a designated supporting character. And note that while Cyborg did get an arc, it's noticeably light on character development (at least, from him) in contrast to everyone else's and (though I'd argue it's villain is better than most of the series' other big bads) is definitely the most forgettable of the main storylines.

And thinking about it now, Cyborg only had two two-parters for the Brother Blood arc. Most other Cyborg centric episodes were stand-alone ones.

1. I repeat; Just a thought but after the events of ‘The End’ how long do you think it would have taken Slade to regain all of the power that he had lost after ‘Aftershock’? By which I mean having a variety of secret hideouts at his disposal, a vast army of robotic commandos at his command, along with brutish monsters like Cinderblock and Plasmus, and a numerous array of technologically advanced weaponry within his arsenal?

2. Personally, as a would-be author myself, I believe that there are still plenty of good story ideas left to be told for this show

3. Has anyone else noticed that the team seems to be perfectly okay with giving Beast Boy a hard time and yet they feel that Raven should be constantly treated with respect and consideration? Somehow that just doesn’t seem all that fair

4. Would a season of this show that took place almost completely in space really be all that bad?

For all we know, he still had plenty at the time of his death, and they were never found.

It's not like the Titans had any way of knowing, or finding them. It's entirely possible that after his resurrection, he just picked up where he left off.

Slade ran on Offscreen Villain Dark Matter, so he'd probably be up and running in a week or so.

[up][up][up]Yeah, those were a couple things I didn't care for about the show. The comic Titans were a lot more even in how they all had problems to sort out, yet were all as one when it came down to it. The '03 series made them comparatively stock characters. And the "at least they didn't strip them of redeeming values like Go! did" excuse doesn't fly when there have been other shows that did better jobs with characterization. (To say nothing of, again, the movies.)

It's not like Beast Boy doesn't bring it on himself by acting like an immature twat the majority of the time.

@ azul120

I disagree that all of them were more stock characters in the show. In the first season, they were as you described more stock. But I do think as the series went onto, they were given lots of depth to their characters. Cyborg in the show was a mix of being the genius tech guy and the jock type of guy. In Go, that is stripped down to him being an idiot duo with Beast Boy.

They never really stopped being stock characters, except maybe Raven. The writers just got better at putting into plots that played with them in interesting ways.

At best, each member had a habit of being less stock when episodes were specifically about them (and even then, not always) but going back to form when that wasn’t the case.

They're effective but not deep - which is fine. But it does mean that five seasons was about all that they could do.

I'd say they have one major character trait and one Hidden Depth each - Robin is the ultra-seriosu team leader, but he's secretly afraid he can't hack it, Beast Boy is the joker with hidden insecurity (but also tenacity), Cyborg is the Genius Bruiser but he has a tenuous relationship with his cyborg nature (and ultimately it's his human side which proves to be his stronger element again and again), Raven is cold but secretly harbours pent up emotions, and Starfire is... well, Starfire's just sort of nice.

I'd say only Starfire really qualifies as a stock character for me.

I do love the episode where she connects with Red Star and shows how she encourages him not to hide himself away. She does feel more stock than the other characters, but I do think she is more than just being bubbly and quirky.

[up][up][up]That sums it up pretty well. Outside of their respective Day in the Limelight episodes, they were a little on the predictable side, and on the whole, not as fleshed out as they were in the comics.

Teen Titans Star Tara Strong Says The Show Could Actually Return For Season 6

Teen Titans fans had their revival hopes all but extinguished when its goofy super-spinoff Teen Titans Go! became a megahit, and eventually got its own movie deal. Fittingly enough, though voice actress Tara Strong has claimed the potential success of Teen Titans Go! To The Movies might actually be what saves Teen Titans proper, as she reported a good run at the box office will bring the more mature versions of Robin, Raven and the rest back to the small screen.

While I still don't really like the ending we got, I don't see much that a new season would have to offer at this point. The art style would probably be different, and while each season did it's own thing there isn't really a storyline this show could do that Young Justice wouldn't do better.

Is that the strategy they're using to market the movie? "Watch our movie and we promise to stop making that godawful show!"

IIRC, she's done almost this exact thing before.

[up]x4 Murakami didn't have an interest in doing so. He didn't find outer space particularly interesting, and they struggled to give her a season long "arc".

I don't agree with that reasoning in the slightest, but it's something they simply don't care for exploring.

The Teen Titans Go movie actually looks pretty funny, though. It looks funnier than the show. When Cyborg sees Slade and goes "Oh my God, it's Deadpool!" I actually laughed out loud. Am I going to see it in theaters? That's a negatory, but I know I'm going to check it out eventually.

The part that gets me is that Slade seems to be the in-universe representation for the fans of 2003 Teen Titans that hate Go

Also it bashed the Green Lantern movie. That's a free point for any movie.

So I recently rewatched the Bunny Raven episode and understood the secret to Raven’s trick that allowed her to pull her foot out of the hat to kick Mumbo in the face. I noticed that Mumbo not only turned them into circus animals but also altered their powers into circus themed parodies of themselves. Raven couldn’t use her dark powers with her “Azarath Metrion Zinthos” incantation, but had to use classical magic words like “Abracadabra” and could only use cliched magic trick like the appearing-flowers trick.

Raven realized this and took advantage of the fact that she was now a rabbit. Using the magic word “Alakazam” to perform another cliched magic trick ever: Pull a rabbit out of the hat. That’s why one of the the Mumbo look-alikes called her trick “old hat” meaning old fashioned.

Interestedly, in the episode Mumbo pulls a toy duck out of his sleeve and Raven points out how he did it. Mumbo response is: “do you have to overanylsis?”. Raven’s trick is the same way. You can figure it out if you analysis the details.

Apparently the post-credits scene for the Teen Titans Go movie also hints at a Teen Titans season 6 revival.

That's one way to get people to watch it XD
