FusionFall Legacy: a fan reboot of the Cartoon Network MMO

In the vein of something like Toontown Rewritten, FusionFall Legacy is an unofficial project to breathe life back into Cartoon Network's FusionFall. The goal is to bring back everything that made the old game memorable, and then some- whether it's an entirely new character or area, or simply retexturing some character models from the old one.

Naturally I wanted to make a thread in case anyone 'round these parts would be interested in keeping a tab on the project or just discussing it.

And here's a poll they're running for the single-player demo they plan on releasing soon, for one of the Nanos they're going to put in the demo. (I'd assume all of them will be in Legacy proper.) At the moment the matchup is for Blossom vs. Dee Dee.

A lot has happened since this post was originally created! The old Fusion Fall Legacy demo has now been replaced with Fusion Fall Retro, a recreation of the game pre-2010. Fusion Fall Retro now has an official release date of August 1st, 2017. Aside from that, immense progress has been made on Legacy. The developers even uploaded the introduction video recently! Also we've apparently gotten some attention from 4chan as well.

Oh my, this thread is... pretty old. Didn't think anyone here would bump it.

Guess the project's gotten pretty big if 4chan of all places noticed it, hehe. I'm impressed, though- with the way the Legacy side of things is now, if you put it on paper I would have thought it was too ambitious. Yet here we are with the intro cutscene and a regular flow of screenshots showing just how much the game world's been overhauled.

Holy crap that intro had more animation than the whole of Fusion Fall.

i can't wait to see how this turns out. i had a lot of fun with the first game :)

Should Fusionfall Legacy get it's own trope page or not?

I would wait until it comes out to go for it, but even then if most of the original game's plot threads are intact it may as well be put under a separate header for tropes exclusive to Legacy instead.

Could always put Legacy under a 'Fan Work' sub page.

Was the audio from the original game saved anywhere? I can't find anything of just the audio and there are surprisingly few clips of the character's voices on Youtube. I know most, if not all, the characters had newly recorded lines.

Not that I'm aware of. The Legacy devs probably have the old audio files but I dunno if they released them.

That's a shame. I wanted to hear clearer versions of the KND, PPG, and Dexter's Lab lines. I have only found a few shoddy quality videos that show them.
