Sasuke quickly drops it, hit by some needles. He uses Healing Power to heal somewhat and prevent him from needing physical therapy (and possibly losing the feeling in his hand).
Garuda, on the other hand, is protecting as Sasuke flies near the clouds, breathing flames in order to create stormy cloud conditions.

He's going to use a less lethal version of it. It'll likely paralyze him for a bit, knock him out too. The only place it'll actually harm him at is where the lightning enters and exits his body..
