Anyone actually going to participate in the Arena? You two are too busy lurking in the Discussion page, you know...
Talking about livers for some reason I totally fail to understand (slapped).

Sometimes it best to leave the lights OffIf you get back before the fight ends, there's currently a boss battle against a rune golem going on.
Yes, yes, doublepost, shame on me.
This is what I posted over in the main thread, before realizing it was derailing the thread and moving it over here.
"Yeah I was there for part of that, then went off to eat dinner because I was clueless as to what was going on. To be fair, the plot of these games ends up being kind of emergent, and nobody can take any big leaps for fear of godmodding, because the definition here is fairly strict (with good reason, but it definitely makes it harder to try to get a plot going). I tried to establish a little thing with the golem being possessed earlier, but I'm not going to make anyone run with anything remotely related to it."
And by the plot point I'm referring to the possession, not the golem itself.

Hm.. An objective we could go after besides aimlessly fighting each other... Hey, 4mask, can I maybe use that golem plot thread of yours for something?
off the shits@MaskWolf: Hence why I allow social moments to occur around here so we can get to know your character better without getting worried of suddenly derailing things in the process.
Unless it involves a Boss Fight, in which you can make others go all Enemy Mine and shit, you probably should introduce your character little by little until more other characters are involved in his or her mini-continuity, and then you can hurl the plot ball.

Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.Feel free. I don't have any future plans. Just be sure whatever you do doesn't railroad, heaven knows I've accidentally railroaded or been perceived as railroading several times before.
I'm not actually sure what you're responding to, Syme Synth. I have no problem with social moments, in fact they are great fun to watch (I have difficulty participating because it's hard for me to roleplay, but I try). I was literally just mentioning that plot is scarce early on, and you gave a reason why and what is done to develop plot.

@Maskwolf: I was talking about the plot points here in the Arena, and how you can start one without ending up derailing other things, or appearing to be godmodding things.
That's the purpose of this Arena: the plot starts as scarce, and becomes more complex as the characters start to develop.

Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.I really don't have a big plot
What is a man? A miserable pile of secrets, but enough talk have at you!Yeah ummm... I'm bad with words, but that was pretty much what I was trying to get across. The plot develops slowly over time, starting out scarce but then becoming more concrete.
Think of it like this with Trea as an example, he came into the arena a while ago with a simple goal, fighting the biggest monsters he can see for money and glory, but as things moved on with the others in the arena, he grew to resent them because of them all having special powers and he is just a man with a shoddy gun at the end a stick, to the point he is outright hostile to anyone he sees using supernatural powers.

Sometimes it best to leave the lights OffI shouldn't derail anything because it's just video game bad guys sending wanting to take over the arena but there gonna fail so
What is a man? A miserable pile of secrets, but enough talk have at you!Continuing from the derailed signups thread, the only magic Questor's characters had was the Mid-Childan Style. I think he shared F's opinion on magic, he seems to like more rule-driven/realistic shit. Maybe because when everyone's playing realistic he can Munchkin, but when freeform magic gets involved...

"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."...he can't take it anymore. Of course that's his gameplay.
Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server.Yep. Major-league Scrub and/or "Stop Having Fun" Guy.
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."Sigh. No wonder he always wins whenever we face off.
Creator of the Avatar Arena and its Discord server. You know he's banned now? Got banned for a totally uncalled-for insult.
Mixed feelings there. He was an asshole Munchkin, but he did epic and made the Arena an Arena at times.
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it."True. I was planning to call him for a Metatron storyline that will involve Alderoth choosing his future. Can you take his place, anyhow? :P
