[up]Considering the body count up to this point, nope.

Finished it just now.

I can't believe they killed Ben like that. I'm pretty sure he's not dead in the comics. If anything, I'm thinking most people would have put Karen on the chopping block for obvious reasons. I wonder if they'll bother killing her or not.

See both Matt and Fisk become the men they are today makes me really understand why Kingpin became more associated with Dare Devil in the end.

A few questions since my Marvel fu has never been very strong:

1) I know Foggy knows Matt is Daredevil in the current comics (along with everyone else on the planet), but when did he find out? Was it a recent thing, or did he find out a long time ago, and I was just unaware.

2) Who is this Marcy girl? There have been so many characters in Marvel history that it's difficult to grasp the difference between obscure character and Canon Foreigner.

And that's season one. See that Arrow? That's how it's fucking done.cool

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Arrow again. I mean, I'd already given up on it, but this was the last nail in the coffin. Flash gets a bit of a pass for being more lighthearted and Silver Agey, though, but if it ever slips into Cerebus Syndrome, I might just quit on it, too.

So anyways, do we know when Jessica Jones is coming out?

Yes, Ben Urich is still alive in the comics and Karen Page is dead. But I hope they never kill Karen in the show, because did you see how awesome she was?

She shot Wesley five times! She called his bluff! Sure, she had a bit of a breakdown afterwards, but she killed him and got away with it.

Wesley was really stupid in that scene. What was the fucking point of putting a loaded gun in front of her? It's not like he was trying to corrupt her or something.

He kinda jumped on this while his best friend was having an emotional breakdown. I'm not sure if he really thought it through.

Even then, if he hadn't gotten that call, Karen would have never gotten the chance to do it.

He underestimated her, and he apparently doesn't carry a gun with him on a regular basis. The point of putting the gun out was just as a way to underline the seriousness of the situation, but since it was someone else's gun, he didn't think to strip the bullets out first or anything. Then, when she got a hold of it, he made the mistake of assuming she could be talked down. But she's apparently shot someone before (which he was unaware of), so that's an important mental block out of the way, and it also meant she had enough experience to recognize the weight and confirm that he was bullshitting her about it being empty. Not to mention she knew to flip off the safety, which most people of Karen's archetype wouldn't know to do in the heat of the moment.

Short version: Underestimating Badassery combined with very poor timing.

[up]He could have showed her he had a gun without putting it within reach. If he kept it on his side of the table he probably could have beat her to grabbing it and lived.

Sounds right to me.

Also, Any guesses on where Gao is from? I'm assuming Kun'lun(sp), but since we know Aliens have been on Earth a long time, we can't totally rule out that as a possibility as well.

There was an article speculating that she was actually Crane Mother. If she shows up in Iron Fist, that would be totally awesome.

If Crane Mother is a total Martial Arts Bad Ass I could buy it. She caught Matt totally flat footed. I mean, he should have caught some sign he was about to get thumped like that (going from calm to sudden attack mode like that would normally tip him off), so the fact that he didn't means his guard was totally down, or she's that good that he didn't see her coming at all.

Makes sense. Just cause you know it's coming doesn't mean you know how hard it will hit. Especially from someone like that.

I know he's fought both.

Part of the point of putting the gun on the table is to signalize he isn't treating her. But, yeah, it was overall a dumb mistake. As was getting distracted by the cellphone.

But one thing to keep in mind was that Wesley was under a lot of stress at the time. His employer/best friend was having a break down and turned up a situation that was tricky to fix. Since the matters on Fisk's mothers are absolute secret, only the two of them could interrogate Karen. Since Wilson was "indisposed", Wesley needed to solve this alone, something I am certain he is not used to. Fisk often takes matter with his own hands, but I believe Wesley prefer to leave these stuffs for others. Which is why he handled that somewhat amateurish. It is not something he usually do by himself.

You know, with Ben Urich dead and Marvel being able to use Spider-Man related-content in the MCU, do you guys think that Phil Urich might end up taking his uncle's comic book role in Daredevil's inner circle?

I'm watching the last episode, and I have to say that Owlsley deserved to win more than Fisk did. I actually wish his plan had worked. Though I guess props to Kingpin for averting Why Don't You Just Shoot Him? him in that situation.

On the whole though, I've really liked this series. It's a shame that Matt probably won't show up for Civil War or anything. At the very least, I hope he's affected by it in a second season or the Defenders series or something.
