Digibro is an jackass from what little I have seen of him. I watched one of the videos of him railing on about this site (it was recommended to me by youtube for some reason) and could easily tell that he was a toxic poss.

The show they are making looked interesting to me atleast.

high guardian spice looks okay but my main problem is the generic premise. unless they execute it decently, i'm not gonna watch personally. a shame as i did like the body diversity in it.

I enjoy how everyone acts like they know everything about the story and plot and themes from one sole sentence of the trailer. Please. Do keep going with that.

This poor thread, so full of controversy. I thought it would be different this time...

[up] No matter what topic is made, there is no avoiding controversy. Even one about potato salad; I’m sure nobody will bring up that infamous kickstarter where a guy actually reached his goal (and more) to make a potato salad.

But yeah I think we should talk about something other than High Guardian Spice since there isn’t much information to go on about and its getting derailed to talking about Cruncyroll and Digibro who (aside from that show) has nothing to do with the topic on the influx of shows with female creators.

[up] Thanks.

While looking up recent shows I begin to notice a lot of the ones that have female creators happen to be aimed for the preschool crowd. Namely Doc Mc Stuffins, Shimmer & Shine, Sunny Days, Fancy Nancy (well one half of the creators is female) and Nella the Princess Knight. This leada me to assume that most networks have no problem greenlitting cartoons with female creators if it was aimed for toddlers.

But that is not to say that there aren’t any new shows that have such creators that isn’t aimed for my 5 year old sister . . . which is why I know about those shows in the first place due to her constantly going on Kids Youtube and not allowing me to watch my bullshit shows like X-Men Evolution or Transformers Animated. Like that show Summer Camp Island has one. Its a pretty weird and immaginative show (much like all the other recent Cartoon Network shows) and certainly worth the watch during the summer season. And there is that upcoming Disney Channel show The Owl House which will add variety with its more horror leaning tone.

Someone brought up the idea and I reinforced it but you're absolutely correct. I edited my post and will keep that in mind.

Who's Cris Nee?

[up]x2 Chris Nee is the creator of the show Doc Mc Stuffins.

Also I think I may have been the one you are refering to who unintentionally brought up that controversial thing about female creators. It was merely an observation I made from only looking at the three major networks (Cartoon Network, Nickelodean, and Disney Channel), and quite honestly not really a full on research as to the overall cartoon industry and their practices for greenliting stuff.

Hell, I didn't even went into depth on series of the past with female creators (like Pepper Ann and Rugrats), outside of the country (like the Total Drama series) or even on the web (like Bee & Puppy Cat).

Logically I shouldn't be surprised. I just hope nothing physical arrives from it.

Well, anyway!

Remember how Cartoon Network Latin America and Pixelatl was holding a pitching competition for a new Mexican animated series by female creators and one of them was called The Forgotten Forest by Madelein Treviño?

She won an award at this year's Pixelatl event! gringringrin

(Actually, I'm not sure if the award means her pitch was the best and thus is getting made into a show, but hey! She got an award regardless!)

Well since High Guardian Spice keeps getting brought up, youtube recommended this video to me where the guy lists notable women who work on anime industry.(who aren't well known because western anime fans don't actually do lot of research on songwriters or directors or such :P)

Since Japan is rather sexist country, I'm honestly still kinda skeptical about how diverse anime industry is, though I do give that he is probably right about anime community being one of more diverse geek communities
