Hey, having the movie ghost's characteristics are good enough for me. Though it's a shame about Yet To Come. YTC's only characteristic in Mickey's Christmas Carol besides actually being Pete was smoking like a chimney. Lots and lots of it. And that's a... no no these days.
Maybe they'll give him a peg leg or have Jim Cummings or even Will Ryan (who I hope if voicing Christmas Present) voice him or something.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Sounds like they've pulled out all the stops for the Christmas special.
And more importantly, they've done it in a structured and organized way. (It's possible to put hundreds of thousands of dollars into a project and still have it turn out like horse crap.)
So that seems to be another milestone to look forward to.
> Though it's a shame about Yet To Come.
Too scary, the figure looks like death
New theme music also a boxEpisode 4 spoilers: Pretty much. Donald tries to impress his friends by pretending to be successful. The twist of course is that Panchito and Jose did the same thing. At the end of the episode they even sing The Three Caballeros song while defeating the man (duck?) eating plant.
Interesting. They edited a shortened version of the opening!
A village where everyone is happy. HAPPY!
Of course Panchito uses a cel phone. I mean we ARE in the 21st Century, but it's just weird to see.
"Raising 3 kids alone and being the nephew of the richest duck in the world isn't success"? Uuuuuh did they forget the moral of the last season finale? This conflict seems shoe-horned in.
That Donald face is weird. ... Scrooge acting senile is something I didn't know I needed though.
Interesting. I use sling.tv, and today they are trying to insert a "we'll be right back" DURING the episode. ... interrupting short scenes. ... multiple times. ... a minute apart from each other.
A non-anthropomorphic donkey. Hmmmmmm...
Hate to break it to you both but umbrellas can't make woodwind sounds.
How long did the plant pose as those locals? It seems to be a popular tourist destination whenever the plant blooms. You'd think one of them would've noticed their lack of legs years ago.
Oh hey there Huey! Your presence here is SO irrelevant I almost thought you weren't on this trip!
Donald stop talking in metaphors! You crazy crazy man!
No no his back really DID break!
Hahaha Jose's a flight attendant. :D ... and Panchito's a children's entertainer.
TIME FOR... A MUSICAL FIGHT!
So that's actually a lot of plant gore! :O
.. so if that village was fake, why was it there? How long did that plant start that charade?
That was a fun episode. Loved the design of the carnivorous plant, and it was great hearing the new voice actors sing the Three Caballeros song.
I am a little bummed Panchito didn't get his solo bit where he sings in Spanish, though that's ultimately a very small nitpick.
Children's characters of course can no longer carry guns, so Legends and other places replaced it with a lasso, but Ducktales 2017 went with TWO CEL PHONES! Panchito even twirls them beside his hips! That is an outrageous yet creative way to deal with it!

I was about to post joking response ask where the guns are but you beat me to it
New theme music also a boxOdd that they put the episode title in the stinger, AKA the part before the opening credits. Never seen that before. Also they shortened the opening.
Have Jose and Panchito ever appeared in anything outside of Three Caballeros? Donald is super popular, but I've never heard of these other two guys. Were they created specifically for that movie?
Legend of the Three Caballeros and they were in an episode of House of Mouse. That the extent of what I remember, or did I misunderstand the question?
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Jose appeared in Saludos Amigos, which came before Three Caballeros. Haven't seen them mentioned in Kingdom Hearts but I think they appeared in the Disney Duck comics and House of Mouse (and Legends, natch).

They appeared in many things!
Recently, José and Panchito were also in Mickey and the Roadster Racers, and a couple of the recent Mickey shorts (though only José has a voice actor in the Mickey shorts).
Way back when, in addition to what was already said, Jose was in an episode of Walt Disney Presents called Two Happy Amigos, and an additional theatrical short with Donald called Blame It On The Samba. Before the Caballeros’ two House of Mouse appearances, Jose was in a Mouseworks cartoon, and has an additional House of Mouse episode without Panchito.
They also have a ride in Disneyworld, and are extremely popular in their respective countries, with Jose having his own long running comic series in Brazil.

I'm just glad we finally got another episode where Donald actually gets screentime.
It's a nice touch that Huey, Louie, and Donald, curl up into little fluffy balls of anxiety, when they are stressed.

The thing people with money never seem to understand that being poor is kind of embarrassing. We live in a culture that puts an immense amount of emphasis on personal accomplishment, especially financial, and which regards people who work paycheck-to-paycheck or seek assistance as pitiful at best and leeches at worst. When you're living, essentially, on someone else's couch, especially as a single parent of three kids you can't provide for, you don't want to say that. You especially don't want to say that to people who are immensely wealthy, and who you last saw as a stupid college student so you have no idea how big a shithead they are now.
I can only imagine what'd be going through Donald's head. Are they gonna try and lend him money? Are they going to try and "solve" his poverty with things that won't work or that he already tried? Are they going to spurn him entirely? He has no idea how they're going to react, and that can be terrifying enough with total strangers, let alone old friends.
Donald may know, intuitively and intellectually, that there's nothing wrong with him and the way he lives his life. But there's a huge social cost for saying out loud that you're poor.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.A couple fun tidpits from Angones' tumblr: according to him, "pretty much the whole cast" of Wander over Yonder will have been in Ducktales by the end of the year (I'm making the last second guess that Jack McBrayer is playing the Ghost of Christmas Past, since he would do a grand Jiminy impression), and they very recently finished recording for another Jose and Panchito appearance./

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. There's at least one error about the price of the lunch. When we see the bill, it says "R$251,47", or 251.47 Reals (Brazilian currency). That sounds like a lot, but at current exchange rates, it's US$67.35. Still a lot more than I'd want to spend for a meal unexpectedly, but not bad for eight people.
If Scrooge then cited the bill as that much in dollars, it'd be understandable. But he says it cost three hundred and fifty one dollars and forty seven cents. Did Donald splash out a whole hundred Reals ($27) for the "nice big tip" (40%)? I guess when you're playing with someone else's money and trying to look like a big spender...

Fresh-eyed movie blogAnd it also plays into the self esteem issues he’s often shown as having. Being the universe’s Chew Toy does not make one feel good about themselves, I imagine.
