I'm a bit suspect as to how much of Kuasa's story is true. If General Maksai is a part of this 'verse, she could be one of his chronies or maybe even his daughter making Kuasa Mari's cousin instead.

I also would like to know how she so easily spotted Mari while the latter was in camouflage mode.

I just saw the finale.

It was good. After the episode it has two exclusive trailers for Flash Season 2 and Arrow Season 4.

I liked the ending. Kind of a lot. Probably gonna give Mari a metakitty for sure now.

I don't see why that couldn't have been live action though, like make it an episode of Arrow or Legends of Tomorrow if they have the space.

I could see Mari showing up in an episode of Arrow or Flash - this whole thing seems more like a short just to shortly explain her powers and her origins.

Catching up with the last two episodes and... yeah... Ep. 5 has more throwing in as much stock Africa stuff as possible no matter how dissonant it is. But I'm over it by now.

Ultimately, though, the show focuses too much on the origin of Mari's powers and not enough on her growth as a person. In the last episode, she's discovering her roots and just fights her sister and then, one scene later, she's up and decided to be a superhero and is all "you are my father" with her adopted dad without any real development. The bit with her father especially because they build up Mari's indecision between her birth family and her adopted family and then don't do anything with it, but the whole "suddenly decides to fight crime" bit seems to come out of nowhere too.

But whatever. It's a pilot. It's supposed to introduce the character, and isn't necessarily supposed to be the greatest thing ever. Now that we know who Vixen is, the time has come for (hopefully) more development.

Yeah I suppose this way they can just have her appear in an episode without Cisco/Felicity hacking into her personal database to know who she is, where she comes from and what her grades were in school. And as Barry pointed out, she may not need to beat him up in her debut.

As cheesy as it kinda was, I loved the " Detroit is my village" thing. Reminded me of Beka Cooper and the lower city in the Tortall books. It was nice.

and yeah, this way if Mari shows up in one or more of the live action shows we can skip the mistrust/ Barry getting beaten up bit. Nice to jump into "kinda allies" territory. Plus, it brings up the number of "People with powers in the Flash show that DON'T want him dead" up from, um, like 4 counting himself, Cisco, and Firestorm(s) to five!

Called it on Kuasa lying about her story. Though I wonder how much of a threat she could have been as a little girl. And "the darkness had infected her."? Do they mean something possessed her or something? Did she kill their parents?

Two more things:

1) Is the professor guy who betrayed Mari going to make more appearances? Since he's knowledgeable of the Totem, maybe he'll serve as her back up to atone for betraying her.

2) How the hell does Mari plan to keep her identity a secret if she's not wearing a mask?

She doesn't wear a mask in the comics, so she's probably not going to wear a mask here. I think she might not have a secret identity in the comics, would would be an interesting thing to have in the Arrowverse.

But if she does have one, here's betting she still going to do a better job of keeping it secret than Oliver "Totally Not The Arrow, I Swear" Queen.

Finally caught up with the finale.

I don't think Mari will need a true identity if she spends entire days designing clothes that are inspired by her origins. That would be an even worse cover than Ollie's Rich Idiot With No Day Job. If I recall, she did not have a secret identity in JLA, or at least she never hid her face - and she was a world famous model at the time so you'd think someone would have figured it out.

Now, I will just be waiting for her to show up in either Flash or Arrow. Considering the state Star City is in, she may be Team Arrow's consultant on "living in a city that is going to hell"?

So since Vixen will be appearing in the regular Arrowverse soon (that why they made her look like her voice actor), I finally caught up on this.

This is now the third (or was it fourth) animated series I've seen that references Anansi.

Gargoyles, Static Shock, and now this. I'm sure there was one more, but I might be confusing his appearance in the comics (which was also tied to Mari during her tenure on the Justice League), but I can't be sure.

That last bit with Barry mentioning he kissed Felicity was hilarious.

I can't help but get the feeling when we next see Mari's sister, she's gonna somehow have a totem necklace of her own. I know it's impossible since there's only one, but it'd be a wicked ass fight.

Also, even after her appearance on Justice League, I never realized how......adaptable Vixen is. She's got something for any situation, and could conceivably fill damn near any role (The Big Guy with Elephant or Gorilla powers; Cheetah Power for Super-Speed, she's got a natural camouflage ability, and can even have flight}.

Also, if she takes on the attributes of a fish, can she survive under water? Food for thought.

Anyway, bring on the Vixen.

If she can fly without wings by taking on the aspect of a bird I don't see why she wouldn't be able to breathe underwater without gills.

Another thought for anyone who knows more about Vixen:

In all the animated incarnations of her that I've of her (Justice League, Batman The Brave And The Bold, and now Vixen), she's never used more than one ability at once.

So, she either has the speed of cheetah, or the strength of an Elephant or Rhino or whatever. She can't do both at once. Is that just how it's played in the adaptations, or is that how it is in the comics as well?

Also wonder if she can have claws somehow if she gets a cats powers (her sister seemed to get fangs when she went Cheetah)?

One Strip! One Strip!
